De kamer was goed, hoewel verzocht om een kamer met bad was deze op de dag van aankomst niet beschikbaar. De dag erna zouden onze spullen verhuisd hebben kunnen worden naar een kamer met bad maar toen we eenmaal onze kamer ''bewoond'' hadden was er geen reden meer om te verhuizen. Prima geregeld allemaal en fijne badkamer (ook al was deze alleen voorzien van een douche). Verder was de service goed, altijd iemand aanspreekbaar voor welke vraag dan ook. Waarbij we altijd vriendelijk en gastvrij te woord werden gestaan. Altijd een online-verbinding beschikbaar. Goed ontbijt in een leuke ontbijtzaal. Hotel prachtig centraal gelegen in de stad. En dan wel weer heerlijk rustig 's avonds/ 's nachts.....need I say more;-)

Hotel was in a great location to visit the main attractions & also close to bus tour main office. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Always smiling ! Great breakfast selection. Modern stylish decor.

Nothing to report

We stayed at this hotel the last night of our trip as we wanted to upgrade to a fancy hotel. The room was high-end and comfortable, similar to the W chain in the US. Our room also had an amazing bath tub! The front desk was very friendly and helpful with everything. They helped us book our bus back to the airport. We were staying at apartments earlier which is more budget friendly but for a high-end hotel I would stay again. The location is perfect for walking around. Bonus was the sushi restaurant next store was great!

Very nice and comfortable hotel. Nice and functional room. Location VERY good.Breakfast was super. Even though they maintaining the breakfast room.

Upon arrival we had to wait for our rooms, wich was not actually a problem but the receptionist was very unfriendly and unhelpful. A bad start for this stay, lucky she was only there on Sunday. Rest of the week the staff was very friendly and helpful. Especially the guy working in evening and night, he made the stay something extra.

The location was fabulous. The stylish design of the interiors and the view from our fourth floor room.

Nowhere to hang towels or robes in the bathroom. The room description on their website didn't match what we were given as a deluxe room. Their website clearly states that deluxe rooms have white leather sofa seating area and or a bathtub. We had neither although the room was very nice. I raised this issue but no one followed this up.

The noise from the bar nearby was really dreadful. Even with the window firmly closed it sounded like there was a disco happening in our room! We didn't have a double bed - it was two singles next to eachother, so hard to cuddle my partner comfortably!

The staff was amazing. They seemed to enjoy going out of their way to help us, treating us like family or friends rather than tourists. The rooms were lovely and clean, and the bar and reception very modern and beautiful.

We loved everything.

Centerhotel Thingholt was so central to all the bars, restaurants and attractions in the centre of Reykjavik. Reasonable price for the room which included a full buffet breakfast. All the trips we booked picked us up from right outside the hotel. We would definitely stay again!

As a lot of other reviewers say Friday and Saturday night was noisy with the club down the road but it did not bother us too much - may do if you are travelling with children. Also we had booked a deluxe room but it was not quite as advertised - did not have a sofa or bathtub - we spoke with reception who said it was a deulxe room but to be fair still offered to move us the following day (the hotel was fully booked).

nothing to dislike

I stayed at the Thingholt hotel in January 2013 and had a great time. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room very comfortable and the breakfast buffet was plentiful and tasty. Happy hour in the bar every day provided an excellent opportunity for a pre-dinner drink and chat with the other guests. The hotel is brilliantly located just off the main street and in close proximity to plenty of bars and restaurants.

Only a very minor detail - the uplighters on the front steps made the steps difficult to see. I nearly tripped on a number of occasions!

I loved the hotel! The huge bathtube near the bed is out of this world! Highly recommended!
