The location in Vik was great, but when we checked out our bill was $600!!! a bit of a surprise. We had a few drinks at the bar and two of the three of us ate at the buffet... But it wasn't worth that much! That we spent $600 on one night.

The location was perfect for our journey along the south coast of Iceland. The beds were comfy and we were pleased to get English tv channels in our bedroom! We were very disappointed on arrival to find out that the restaurant wasn't open and that our only means of getting food was at the cafe at the local petrol station. We were also informed that breakfast had to be early, which again was very annoying as we had been up early every morning of our holiday and this one day we had scheduled to have a lie- in. However the receptionist was extenellt apologetic and offered us 10 euros off our room rate.

The room was very nice and seemed almost new. The location just outside Vik was perfect and close enough to the black sand beach that we could visit the beach easily but still enjoy the scenery and quiet outside of town. The food available at the hotel for dinner was pricey and nothing special; however, the breakfast included in the room rate was very good and generous.

Location was a good stop off on our travels. Nice place, good comfortable and warm rooms, very friedly staff and great breakfast. Nice hot tubs and view of Northern Lights. If you don't eat at the resturant (which is nice food) you have to drive to get anywhere else.

The room was spacious, clean and well laid out. Beautiful location. Waffle maker for breakfast buffet. We had both dinner and the breakfast buffet, both were good but not great. No soap in room. Office staff quickly found a soap dispenser for us.

This hotel was a lot nicer than expected. The room was huge and newly renovated. Great value. Breakfast was kinda lame. Had a huge room full of tables for the buffet, but when we got there in the morning it just had a bunch of bread and a mini-salad bar.

The room was really nice and big. Breakfast was really good. Hottub is nice after a long day. The shower was not so big and with the shower curtain it was not that hygenic. Should have had a door instead of the curtain and that it would have been fine.

The staff were the most friendly hotel staff amongst 5 different hotels that we stayed in during our trip in Iceland. The rooms are brand new & very spacious. There are few hot tubs outdoors. The mashroom soup is something else.

In the vast land of wilderness, Hotel Hofdabrekka provides a wonderful place for travelers to rest in a warm and comfortable room and be re- energized by great food. We arrived in a dark late evening in pouring rain. We were greeted warmly by the staff in Hotel Hofdabrekka. The dinner buffet had finished already and the chef had left, but the receptionist was able to prepare a big portion of warm soup for us so that we wouldn't starve. The room was very warm and clean. The second day both the continental breakfast and the dinner buffet were great, with many foods for both vegetarians and meat lovers. It's hard to imagine anything better especially when you are traveling in the middle of the wilderness.

I loved the mountain lodge feel of the hotel. Staff was super friendly and the complimentary breakfast was delicious. Wish the hot tubs were a little hotter but still had an excellent stay. I would definitely recommend staying here. I really didn't like the cloth shower curtains. They are incredibly close to you when you try to shower and end up having very little space to shower without touching them.

Great location--it offered a great place to stop and sleep after a very long day traveling to Jokulsarlon. The next morning we then explored Vik and discovered the incredible beached there. It must have been through a recent renovation, for it smelled of new textiles and materials. It really bothered me at first--but we slept well. Also--the decor is not fantastic, but that doesn't outway the location!

The "no smoking" room smelled of cigarettes, television and beds are of poor quality, outdated, and a poor value for the cost.

Our room was very big, brand spanking new and very clean. It was comfortable with all the facilities we needed. The bathroom was very big and everything worked well. Breakfast is a good buffet (by Icelandic standards) in a friendly spacious dining room. We were sorry that we did not have supper at the hotel, but we popped our head in and the buffet looked generous and appetising. We were greeted by a very friendly lady on reception. We would stay again. The room, like nearly all Icelandic hotels, was charmless.

This was the best hotel that we stayed at during our 7 day trip to Iceland. It was about 5 km from Vik, however, it was an excellent hotel. It was very clean and spacious and the staff was very helpful.

The rooms are fantastic and spacious. The food is excellent and the hot tubs are a must. The views are spectacular. An ideal spot for reaching the further locations from Rejkavick like the icebergs at Jolurlason.

The receptionist was sooo very nice! She made checking in, checking out, and answering our many questions a very pleasant experience. Buffet was very expensive. Spas were somewhat small and average.

Excellent room and breakfast! Love having a room light switch by the bedside reading lamp. Prices in Iceland are high, but this was a nice hotel in a at Ning setting. Hot tub could have been hotter..
