Country Hotel Hofdabrekka  

Great spot to enjoy the southern tip of Iceland. We were lucky to have great weather and walk the beach (access is a few miles west of the hotel.) Fabulous monolithic rocks just off shore which are visible from some of the rooms at Hofdabrekka.. The hotel has a great continental breakfast, included in the room price. Dinners were also quite nice (I´d recommend the panfried trout)

Some of the friendliest staff I have ever met on a hotel - and I stay in lots. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable, and they did a lot of little extras for us. The location was beautiful, just outside Vik i Myrdal on the amazing Icelandic south coast.

The room was very stylish and modern. It was very comfortable and warm. The room looked much better in real life than the pictures on the website suggest.

The dinner menu in the restaurant was somewhat limited as are most hotel restaurant menus in Iceland at this time of year (April 2012) however, we found a lovely cafe in Vik which was recommended to us whch served good food at a very affordable price in the evenings (next to Hotel Lundi).

-Price, could be pricey but worth every penny. -We arrived quite late and we had to eat at the restaurant, food was as I said excellent but so pricey, almost the price of our room. We actually went back to this hotel 2 days after our stay because we really liked it. so go for it but remember to whether bring your food or take into account dinner price.

Touring the Island the hotel made an ideal stopover. Spacious, modern accommodation. Helpful family run facility.

I enjoyed my stay here, the staff were very helpful and friendly (when I had to stay an extra night due to bad weather they gave me a discount and offered to make me a sandwitch as I would have to leave before breakfast to make up for lost time). The hotel is also set in a very pieceful location and the food in the restaurant was very nice (if quite expensive).

The rooms were quite noisy, you could hear people opening and closing doors etc. It was too bad as there weren't many people there but it could be worse when the hotel is busy.

Location was a good stop off on our travels. Nice place, good comfortable and warm rooms, very friedly staff and great breakfast. Nice hot tubs and view of Northern Lights.

If you don't eat at the resturant (which is nice food) you have to drive to get anywhere else.

The room was spacious, clean and well laid out. Beautiful location. Waffle maker for breakfast buffet. We had both dinner and the breakfast buffet, both were good but not great.

No soap in room. Office staff quickly found a soap dispenser for us.

I loved the mountain lodge feel of the hotel. Staff was super friendly and the complimentary breakfast was delicious. Wish the hot tubs were a little hotter but still had an excellent stay. I would definitely recommend staying here.

I really didn't like the cloth shower curtains. They are incredibly close to you when you try to shower and end up having very little space to shower without touching them.

Our room was very big, brand spanking new and very clean. It was comfortable with all the facilities we needed. The bathroom was very big and everything worked well. Breakfast is a good buffet (by Icelandic standards) in a friendly spacious dining room. We were sorry that we did not have supper at the hotel, but we popped our head in and the buffet looked generous and appetising. We were greeted by a very friendly lady on reception. We would stay again.

The room, like nearly all Icelandic hotels, was charmless.
