It was clean and simple. Amazing views. Catering facilities were available in the evening.
Sorry but lots of small annoyances. The decor was sooo white...a bit tedious. Lots of unfinished decorating. Wires sticking out of the wall, etc. No towel rail in the bathroom. No food in the evenings (except the single-item menu...meat soup). Long drive to the nearest very expensive restaurant. Long drive from Akureyri and Húsavík. Breakfast was kind of simple.
Good location with nice rooms. Friendly hosts.
Fantastic location, set in a beautiful valley with great views. Very secluded, quiet location with an external hot tub that the kids loved. Great breakfasts selection served in the refurbished barn. Very tasteful, calming room decor, matched the surroundings and provided a restful stay for the family.
Friendly owners Hot spot in the garden that relaxed us after long days of sight seeing. Full-featured kitchen. Homely atmosphere Good location for travelling by Northern Iceland As a result: I would stay there forever
Large, ensuite room Excellent breakfast buffet Jacuzzis available
Location: it is 30km from Akurery and about 100 from Husavik Kitchen, reception and rooms placed in three different buildings
Staff were lovely and ultra helpful going out of their way to accommodate us with an early breakfast. The rooms were new, clean and well appointed. Good value for money.
It was located a long way from town and we struggled to get the heaters to work in the room. We also found the water temperature and pressure disappointing.
Great modern rooms with a shower and a toilet. Hot pot ist very nice. Stuff was friendly and helpful. Evering perfekt!
Butter for breakfast would be great ;)
A bliss. The location is stunning, in the middle of nowhere and yet pretty close to Akureyri - the breakfast is good and there is a well equipped kitchen you can use. There are even gloves you can use to do the dishes. We were also surprised to get a brand-new room with private bathroom when our rate included shared bathroom facilities instead. In the hall there are dozens of towels you can pick if the ones in the room are not enough. It all looked clean and brand-new and beds were really comfortable.
Nothing except I would have liked to stay longer. I don't get why there are negative comments on this guesthouse.
Modern and clean with all necessary amenities.
Very practical location. The family-owners were very friendly. Breakfast and dinner simple but very good! Enjoyed the hot tub. We would definitely recommend it!
We would have liked to have an additional bathroom. The house was full and this meant having to wait a bit to take a shower.
wonderful view from the room, nice and comfortable facilities, kindness of the staff.
surroundings helpfull staff! very modern bedrooms! hot tub breakfast owner himself helped us with picking up a package from DHL, which was stranded in Akruyeri(many thanks for that!)
bathroom need "hooks" for towels location of chair is not ok, because second person can not reach the bed, unless he jumps on the bed... bad isolation, ask for a room on first floor, while on the ground you have a lot of noice from 1st floor.
Very new and clean
Not enough cooking facilities for all guests as guests are located in differnt houses Looks industrial Noisy
there were big renovations going on ; no restaurant,no wifi ! when it 'll be finished than the price is worth it but now it was too expensive
- the breakfast in the "barn" - nice room, very good facilities (kitchen, bathroom,...) - jacuzzi on the terrace
As the guesthouse was located far from restaurants, I had expected either cooking facilities or a greater variety of dishes. I had the choice of one dish: icelandic soup.
The view is superb. The share kitchen is clean and nice. The staff is helpful and friendly. The air is refreshing. The rooms are clean. Will definitely come back again!
Nothing really. The location is 30 mins away from town, hence suggest to have some food first if arriving late.
View over the valley, rural area close to ringroad
Dangerous electric installation, freezer not working properly, crooked installation of toilet, stairs etc (do it yourself but don't know how). We stayed a couple of days and the bathroom was not cleaned. One bathroom to be used by at least 14 guests.
Easy enough to find and nice panorama, very friendly staff
We got the room no. 8, thanks to the huge windows if it's sunny in the morning it turns the room into an oven, half of the lights weren't working, and internet didn't work for the 3 days we stayed in the place
large rooms quiet place in the countryside.
expensive food at the restaurant pleasure ambiance to be worked out
We loved: -The owners were very nice and welcoming -The landscape was spectacular -Our Room (#1, I believe) on the front corner of the top floor of the renovated building near the barn was likely the nicest room with the most space and three sets of windows, two of which provide amazing views -When the renovation is complete, this will be a quality guesthouse with private baths throughout -The reception/dining area in the renovated barn had plenty of character
We felt deceived by the photos Booking.com used for this property. Apparently, Booking.com picks and chooses photos that the owners submit so don't blame the owners. The photo of the pretty, red A-frame house was not the building we stayed in but booking.com wants you to think it is. This red building also has rooms available but it is painted grey now so that needs to be updated. Also, the renovated guesthouse shows photos of a dining area on the ground level but that has been turned into rooms. The dining area is now in the renovated barn, which is beautiful inside.
Nice house and breakfast. Great location. Nice place to stay, very quiet.
To less bathroom and kitchen facilities for the amount of peolpe and rooms.
Place was just upgraded and it showed! The view was breath-taking and so worth the trip.
Cars could park right outside bedroom window on ground floor No wi-fi in rooms but ok in main area
We were int the cottage house in middel of nature, nice view on mountains with snow. >40 minutes drive to Mivatin. The gravel way to the house is in perfect condition for normal car. Nice terras with tabel + 4 chairs. Kitchen OK, no oven, no wine glaces. Dining tabel inside with 6 chairs. Meat soup possible on arrival. Good breakfast in the a nicely transformed stable (only one toaster for about 15 rooms)
For 7 very small rooms with sink : one bathroom with toilet/shower/bath/washtable and one separate toilet downstairs. So rather busy bathroom. All wood, so very noicy. If one person gets up at 6h everyone is awake. If someone takes shower, it sounds as if the shower is in your room. Hot tub was rather cold and even empty one day. Hot tub water suppley made a noice which could be heared in the whole house, especially at night, terrible. After taking a shower the water run into the hallway.
