Very clean and comfortable rooms with private bathroom. Helpful staff. Excellent view from the lobby (apparently also from some rooms). Drinks served in the dining room. Not all rooms have a view - apparently we should have explicitly asked for that.

The staff were very friendly. Family operated, sufficient food, but limited choice of menu with either fish, chicken, or meat. What the hotel lacked in facilities, the friendly service was wonderful. Good signage to find hotel Lack of anything to do except sit in your room. Limited choice of menu.

Country atmosphere of the dining hall was great. This hotel, like many Icelandic hotels are extremely over priced for what you get on a world scale. Close to $300 US/night, but in the US it would be more like a $69 room.

The desk clerk was very nice. The room was clean. One expects Iceland to be expensive. However, this hotel and its restaurant are expensive, but for no apparent reason. The hotel and dinner amounted to approximately $375.00 for one night. This was about the same amount that we spent staying at the Blue Lagoon Hotel, which was far nicer and had better amenities. The food was not very good and was quite expensive.

Close to Vik on the way. Other places in Vik were booked, so we had to take this hotel. It was full of elderly tourists and far off from Vik (9 km). The dinner was perhaps the lousiest in our 8 day trip and the price for the room is simply too much.

Rooms are clean, simple, compact with cable tv. Nothing special, but very reliable and friendly, helpful staff. Seems to be a family-run business. The restaurant was excellent with fresh seafood and vegetables. Great location right by the cliffs of Dyrholaey which are spectacular.

Good sized rooms, comfortable beds, great shower and a very peaceful location. Staff helpful and friendly. Unless you want to travel into Vik for food you have to eat at the hotel. Range of food available for dinner is limited - only two fish dishes and one meat option for main course. The standard of food was good, albeit a little pricey.

The Hotel Dyrholaey has and is still undergoing new construction. It is much improved since we booked and read the reviews this winter. They serve a buffet breakfast with hot selections as well as the usual meats and cereals. The views from the hotel are incredible with a glacier in the rear distance and the ocean off the front. There is also free wifi and they seem to be trying to keep up with current trends. There was nothing I didn't like, however the fee was a bit excessive probably because of the lack of other hotels in the area.

Great staff, who make the most of the location and setup of the hotel. Dinner was excellent. Rooms had everything you need, despite the "portacabin" look... Good choice for a one-night stay. Located in the middle of nowhere. Wi-Fi only works at the entrance of the hotel.

Lovely location/views, and a short walk up the hillside was very rewarding with even better views of the glacier and plenty of Icelandic horses. Huge and rather luxurious room with huge and comfy bed which was a surprise. Our receptionist was lovely and kind, and was keen to help us make the most of our stay which started with a blizzard and gale... The steep gravel track was a challenge at first but you soon got used to it. The bathroom was large but rather cool, with no heated towel rail so it stayed wet longer than we would have liked. However this wing had only just opened so could be teething problems.
