A small café is situated in the reception area and, on sunny days, guests can relax on the veranda.
Akureyri has a number of museums, including the Folk Museum, Natural History Museum and Nonnahús, which was the home of Jón Sveinsson, a well known Icelandic children's author. The house is now a museum containing 19th century furniture and the author’s artifacts.
Listagil, or the Akureyri Arts Centre, is a Street of the Arts created out of old industrial buildings. The centre contains varied activities and establishments, such as the Akureyri Art Gallery, Akureyri School of Art, artists' studios, exhibition halls, restaurants and a visitors' studio for the benefit of travelling artists.
Akureyri is a good base for touring the north of Iceland. The region around Akureyri offers lots to see, including historic places such as Grund, Möðruvellir and Laufás.

We were lucky enough to get rooms in the newer part of the building - these are really excellent. The breakfast and dinner buffets are plentiful and tasty. Free internet in the lobby. Some other guest reviews found it expensive, on the contrary we thought it very good value for money - one must consider the general price level in Iceland, where it will never be possible to achieve the economies of scale in middle or southern Europe. |

Wireless connection in the Lobby. There was a horrible smell in the bathroom in our room. We told the staff about it, and they did nothing. They didn't move us to another room because they said the hotel was fully booked. This hotel is over priced, and even breakfast is not included. I wouldn't go back there, and I don't recommend this hotel !!! |

The employees were very professional, courteous and responsive. The rooms were spacious, pleasant and clean. The location was convenient. The shower was slow to drain. It would be nice to have more food options for people that just want a quick sandwich or something. No in-room wireless internet. |

Lovely swimming pool next door. Breakfast very good. I stayed in the new part so I had en suite facilities. Would not consider the old part. |

I liked the reception of the staff, the view I had from my windows, the beautiful mountains of Súlur, the big breakfast I could have and how well situated the hotel is, just few minutes from the town central. |

Cambiamos nuestra solicitud de habitacion con baño compartido en cuanto vimos cómo eran a una habitacion con baño privado. la habitación estaba bien, sin grandes lujos, lo que no se corresponde con el precio de la misma. fuerte olor en el baño. el olor en el baño. el personal del hotel compuesto por estudiantes, bastante malo. pedimos informacion de la zona y lo único que se nos recomedó es ir a la psicina pública a darnos un baño. Muy caro para la calidad del establecimiento, su ubicacion y el personal. |

el desayuno es bastante aceptable.Aunque el wc y duchas son compartidos,no es necesario esperar para su uso y estan muy limpios.La atencion del personal en nuestro caso ha sido excelente. tiene dos edificios y el mas antiguo de ellos no tiene ascensor y las habitaciones son mas pequeñas, pero era mucho mas barato. |

Apartamento para estudiantes, que ya me hubiese gustado para mi cuando estudiaba. Moderno, amplio, limpio y funcional. Aspecto externo del edificio de cristal muy atractivo. El trato del personal deja bastante que desear. Ni te saludan al entrar o salir, ni tienen idea, ni interés en informar más allá del precio de la factura. Que lástima que el nivel de atención a los clientes sea directamente proporcional a la necesidad de fidelización de los mismos. |

Központi fekvésű, a buszállomástól könnyen elérhető, de nehezebben mozgó vendégek ne induljanak el csomaggal gyalog, mert nagyok a szintkülönbségek. A szállodai szobák egyszerűek, hiszen kollégiumról van szó. Az egész épület szépen rendentartott, a közös helységek is mindig tiszták. a személyzet udvarias. |

Gefallen haben mir die Freundlichkeit des Personals, die Verfügbarkeit von Internet und das Frühstücksbuffet. Ich fand das Hotel überteuert. Für eine Übernachtung in einem anderen Edda-Hotel mit vergleichbarer Ausstattung habe ich deutlich weniger bezahlt (8500 ISK statt 70 €). |

ich war beeiendruckt von der idee, eine hochschule in den ferien als hotel umzufunktionieren und dies auf einem recht hohen level an komfort. wir hatten die komfortabelsten zimmer, es werde auch einfachere angeboten |

Die Zimmer waren sehr geräumig. Für uns war es wichtig, 2 Zimmer nebeneinander zu haben; das hat ohne Probleme geklappt und war schon vorreserviert Es gab keine Familienzimmer für 4 Personen |

Das Hotel liegt zentral, die Stadt ist gut zu erreichen. Wir hatten ein Zimmer im alten Teil, das war o.k. und sehr sauber. Der neue Trakt sieht perfekt aus. |
