Located in North Iceland’s main town, Akureyri, this budget summer hotel is a short walk from the center of the city and the Eyjafjördur Fjord shore. Free parking is offered on site. Hotel Edda Akureyri’s rooms have either private or shared bathrooms, and some include a TV. Edda Akureyri’s restaurant offers menu and buffet options. The lobby has a small cafe, and guests can sit out on the terrace in nice weather. The communal lounge has 2 pool tables, a stereo and a piano. Next door to the hotel is a geothermally heated outdoor swimming pool with hot tubs. Akureyri’s Botanical Gardens are also found close by, while the pretty Lake Mývatn is a one-hour drive away. Loads of parking, friendly staff and large comfortable room. Breakfast and dinner buffets were fantastic. Watch out for large groups which seem very common at dinner. No wi-fi in rooms but computer terminals and wi-fi available in the lounge area.

The size of the room was good and it was equipped with both refridgerator and microwave. I thought it was overpriced and wish the room had been equipped for wireless internet.

This is Edda “Plus” hotel – the one wing was renovated as more “hotel like” Edda. A nice comfortable, specious room for three of us (two adults and one child), with a sea view, with a kitchenette (no cocking utensils), with a bit more money. Staff was very helpful despite they seemed students of the facility (University of Akureyri) and they needed to handle so many guests. A hotel is a bit far from the city center and you would be better off if you have a car. No Wi-Fi access from room, and breakfast is not included in the room charge (9 euro)

The hotel has a very broad range, from quite cheap rooms with bath/toilet on the floor (Budget travellers) to comfort rooms (Business). Rooms are quite big and comfortable, staff is competent and friendly! Prices (at least for the cheap rooms) are very good!

Staff was nice and efficient. Breakfast was good. Places were kept clean. It's perhaps more hostel style (perhaps a student house during winters), but I don't find anything to complain about when you compare this place to some others in Iceland. If you are leaving at the same time as others the bathrooms might get crowded. We did not have this problem.

the reception staff were fantastic as was the breakfast. same as the other eddas, the curtains let in too much light, this has suprised us as Iceland always has 24hrs of daylight in the summer so we expected black out curtains or at least heavy ones. The evening buffet was very expensive if you are vegetarian.

Good Dinner buffet. It is a 15 minutes walk up the hill from the Bus station. Difficult to find cab at the bus station if you have heavy luggage to carry.

Neat and clean spacious rooms and toilets. Its about 1.5 km of uphill walk. If reaching by bus and carrying your luggage, it can be a bit tough.

La localización es céntrica, a pocos minutos de la calle comercial y de negocios de Akureyri. Eso sí, hay una hermosa cuesta para llegar al hotel. La ausencia de señalización en la ciudad para llegar al hotel, lo que nos provocó que tuviéramos que dar varias vueltas hasta que encontramos la puerta de acceso principal.

Fri adgang til internet I lobby området. Der var tendens til larm om natten fordi dørene smækker I. Første nat blev vi vækket at én der tørrede sit hår med hårtørrer kl. 2 om natten. Vi havde en følelse af manglende respekt for øvrige gæster.

La recepción es muy bonita Pues a parte de que es como un Guesthouse pero con el precio de un hotel, las mantas son pequeñas y hay muy pocos lavabos y duchas para compartir. Además.de.ser.mas.caro no tienes cocina para hacerte tu propia comida y el WiFi no llega a la habitación solo está disponible en la recepción.

La posizione buona, lo staff gentilissimo e la pulizia della struttura, delle camere e dei bagni. Wifi gratuito. L'hotel mette a disposizione per tutti gli ospiti solamente 2 pc che hanno le porte usb bloccate.

En las habitaciones con baño compartido, solo hay una ducha y dos wateres para unas 12 habitaciones, aunque tampoco tuvimos que esperar cola, pero claro, teniendo en cuenta que es un internado en invierno....1!!!

“The hotel was beautifully and stylishly decorated. The reception is a big comfortable room where you can relax. Very friendly staff. Our room was lovely and luxurious. We had dinner in the restaurant. It was not too expensive by Icelandic standards and our meals were very good.
