Nice location in Golden Circle. Perfect to spend the night after Geysir, þingvellir, or Gulfoss. Nice location on lake.

Hotel was completely unattended from night-time until 8:00am. We woke up at 5:00 and needed to check out at 6:00, but there were no employees anywhere, and the phone number posted to call for late-night help never had anyone answer. Breakfast was supposed to open at 7:30 but they didn't show up until later. Because that room was locked-up, there was no way to get even a piece of bread until they came. Nearby restaurants were all closed, too. We had a strange few hours waiting for someone to show up, unable to eat anything. In hindsight, we should have just left, and contacted them by phone afterwards to pay. Yes this is my fault for not noticing the sign that said the lobby was unattended until 8:00, but still just sharing my experience. Also, the soap dispenser in our room had no soap, but by the time we discovered this, there were no employees on site, and no one to call. We had to do without soap that night.

We had wanted to stay at the Hotel Geysir but that was booked out four months ahead in July. I am glad we chanced on this one, via Trip Advisor. It is only a 20 minute drive from Geysir and has its own charm. Used during school terms as a university boarding centre, one would have expected more basic accommodation. But this was good = large room with twin beds and a lovely view over Lake Laugarvatn. The staff were helpful (We called to say that we would not be checking in till 2330 and they remained up, even providing us with hot drinks on arrival). There was a good breakfast. Moreover next door but one there is a spring pool at which hotel guests get a discount. It did not open till 11 – so that forced us to take things easy – which we had planned to do on the last day in Iceland.

Very good value. Very clean. Decent food.

The mattress and pillows were terrible. Mattress was too soft and the pillows were a terrible foam material. No sound proofing between rooms. The place is a school dormitory used as a hotel in the summer.

Propreté et extrème gentillesse du personnel. Heures d'ouverture d'accueil Chambre avec vue sur le lac Restaurant de bonne qualité Proximité des chutes de gulfoos permet d'y accéder de bonne heure avant la vague des cars et des touristes -> permet de profiter de l'alchimie du lieu.

L'accès à la piscine est en supplément.

Hellhörig und ziemlich schlechter Service. Teuer im Verhältnis zur Leistung.

Wunderschöne Lage am See

Kein W-Lan, einfallsloses Frühstücksbuffet, entspricht eher einer Jugendherberge, für diese Qualität zu teuer!

Très bel emplacement au bord du lac, très agréable. Chambre confortable. Carte du restaurant très appétissante.

Aucun bistrot à l'horizon pour regarder l'eurofoot. La salle de bain dont les wc ne sont pas vraiment cloisonnée du reste de la chambre

Hôtel qui dispose d'une situation géographique exceptionnelle au centre du "Cercle d'Or" et ses sites remarquables (Geysir,Gulfoss...). Très belle vue sur le lac.Proximité d'une piscine à eau chaude naturelle.Très bueau salon.

Chambre à la décoration et aux équipements très sommaires.Grande et propre mais s'apparente à chambre "universitaire".Pas de tv ni d'internet dans la chambre. Mériterait un petit " relooking" pour devenir ou redevenir un superbe lieu de séjour et de visite de l'Islande du Centre.
