We loved it here. Spent 3 nights, had a car - so no problems getting around. Loved her animals!
Edda's Farmhouse is an incredible deal - it's reasonably priced, Edda is super kind and helpful, the space was comfortable, and the breakfasts she provides are AMAZING (i.e. smoked salmon, hard boiled eggs, fresh baked breads and cakes, yogurt, etc). I would go back to Edda's in a heartbeat! The location is very convenient if you have a car, but perhaps less so (in terms of getting into Reykjavic) without a car.

Home baking by Edda. Wonderful position, very close to the harbour, eating places etc. Comfortable rooms. Breakfast was provided although we left very early. Edda was very welcoming and have us good advice on where to eat.
Street lights were rather bright. It would be nice to have darker curtains.
Nice clean accommodation. Lovely host. Very good breakfast with eggs from her chickens. Relaxed atmosphere with pets in the yard.
Edda makes fresh bread every morning, and serves it with a delicious breakfast of fresh foods. I'm a big guy, and there was plenty of food and variety. Since our flight was early, she made us a breakfast at 5am. Very accommodating.
Bathroom was very small.
We've visited Edda's guest house twice and I can say there are such big differences between the rooms you are given. Edda has two houses: the main house is lovely, well equipped and well furnished and you feel kind of like at home (90%). Unfortunately the 2nd house across the street is almost the opposite (50%). The room we were given was not that cosy like in the main house, the bed was very uncomfortable, there was no stuff in the kitchen to warm up your food and there was no wifi reception. Anyway, still recommend to visit Edda's house as she is very regardful person who likes to chat with you during your breakfast which consits of bunch of great home made stuff she made for you.
very uncomfortable bed in the 2nd house, no wifi in the 2nd house, no equipment in the kitchen in the 2nd house
Edda really made our day. Lovely person, delicious breakfast. Absolutely recomandable!
Lovely guesthouse. You feel right at home with a friendly hostess and snuggly animals (ok, the chickens weren't very cuddly). If you're expecting a hotel type accommodation - this isn't it. You're sharing a bathroom with other guests, which is perfectly fine when you know what you get when you're arriving. Wi-fi connection was excellent, and there is lots of street parking nearby. Breakfast was lovely and very filling - nice time to chat with your fellow guests!
The best thing about Edda's was definitely Edda herself. She is a very kind spirit and a heartwarm woman. One of my treasured experiences from my trip was talking with her and the other travelers around the breakfast table. She has great knowledge of Iceland (of course) and is very willing to share stories and recommend places you should visit, should you have the time. If i was to visit the same area again, I would not hesitate to book a room at Edda's!
I could find nothing negative about my stay there, to be honest. People were friendly, calm and respected privacy if you gave indications of needing it even the slightest.
Great location away from the action. Just take the #1 bus back to Reykjavik. Edda is so considerate and for our early morning departure, she made us homemade cooked bread and gave us lots of other healthy food. We stayed 3 nights and had a very comfortable bed. Edda also recommended excellent and reasonably priced places for dinner.
all was great.
Loved absolutely everything! Thanks a million!
Awesome breakfast with homemade bread! Edda is a very nice host and gave us lots of recommendations for things to do in Iceland. Perfect place to explore the Reykjanes peninsula and Reykjavik area (bus connection to city centre is really good).
Spacious room, delightful hostess, great breakfast, good wi fi.
Edda was keen to make us feel at home. She was willing to get up to make breakfast before our very early departure, when we refused, she plied us with fruit and yogurt. She had mde seperate arrangements for half our group due an over-boolking, sorted all this out with no inconvenience to ourselves. It was lovely to have small animals about.
When first booking in, there were several young children around playing in the guest area, which wasn't a problem as such, but I felt as though we were intruding into a family home, it made me feel uncomfortable when discussing payment etc.
Good location, reasonable price, excellent breakfast, friendly hostess, cute animals - really small farm house in town
Edda was one of the most helpful people we met in Iceland, a country that was very good to us overall! The location of her house is fantastic, quiet yet close to the city and her breakfasts cannot be outdone! We stayed in B&Bs all over the country and no one made better bread or had a more friendly and helpful approach to their guests! If you need to know anything about Iceland, attractions, shopping, etc., be sure and ask Edda!
Nothing really! If you stay here a couple of notes: the three rooms in the house across the street (still Edda's) are larger and with better bathroom access and more privacy, however there is a very steep stairway of around 20 steps that you must go up to get there. There is a small kitchen with refrigerator in this house that you can prepare lunches, etc. in but you will need to borrow cookware from the main house. If you opt to stay in the house across the street "Room A" is the best, with biggest bed and nicest view. In the main house the room at the back of the kitchen has the most privacy entering/exiting and is closest to the bathroom.
We loved everything about this beautiful Farmhouse! :-) Edda is the best hostess ever and she made our stay very pleasant. We already miss her so much... She is so kind, helpful and sweet, she will make sure you enjoy because she is very knowledgeable about Iceland! We went out for a dinner and she took us for a small trip around Hafnarfjödur, so cute! Her animals are so lovely, especially Nero :) Excellent Wi-Fi connection. Her breakfast everyday is absolutely wonderful with plenty of options (cheese, hams, yogurts, juice, hot chocolate, coffee, fruits, eggs from her chickens.... And the best of all is that she makes her own bread) Everyday the breakfast was a surprise with my favorite banana bread, scones, cakes and even raisin cookies... What else can you ask for??? The bed was so comfortable the towels have a wonderful scent. Sharing bathroom was not a problem since she has 2 rooms in one house and other rooms in the house across the street. It was always a pleasure to seat with her and learn marvelous things :-) Besides all the sightseeing we did around Iceland we are happy that we have a new friend... Unfortunately we couldn't say good bye because our flight was very early in the morning. However we want to say thank you for all (Venezuela & Czech Republic are extremely happy to chose to stay with you) Definitely a place to stay, to recommend and to come back in the future!!!
The house was bright, clean, and spacious. Edda was extremely kind and very helpful when a need arose. Hafnafjordur is a very quaint little town and we enjoyed our time there immensely.
The windows only had blinds rather than black-out curtains, so the room was very bright in the middle of the night (we were there late June during 24 hour daylight).
1. Good breakfast 早餐不錯 2. The hospitality of the host 房東太太很努力地希望我們住得舒服
1. The wall is so thin that everything can be heard inside or outside the door or the rooms next to each other. 在房間裡基本上你可以頗清楚地聽到四面八方甚至樓下的聲響 2. The house is aged. 房子有些老舊
A very clean, nice and cosy place! Edda is a perfect host and the beds are comfortable.
Bathroom/shower was a bit small, but clean.
Very friendly, welcoming and helpful owner. Provided us with a with a packed breakfast and very nice home baked biscuits amongst other things! Handy location for the airport. The shared bathroom and kitchen were good and had everything we needed.
We were put in the house over the road, so our room was incomplete - basically a bare room with a double and single bed in it. We were told it was not finished on arrival but I felt we should have been warned - and maybe a reduction in price! The main house looked a lot cosier!
Edda is a very kind, helpful and hospitable lady. We enjoyed our stay. Delicious breakfasts too!!
Edda's place is small and homey, with no frills (which was fine with us). It's not close to the airport or Reykjavik for city life. We had a great breakfast, the highlight was her delicious bread! She is knowledgeable about Iceland and was very helpful with making suggestions about tours, etc. I'd recommend Edda's to solo travelers or couples - it's a bit small for families.
Food quality and friendly, informative, and very helpful staff.
What did we like? We loved Edda! Edda is amazing. She runs the B&B, cooks, bakes and makes you feel like you are special. She has excellent suggestions on what to do, where to go and how to get there. The house is spotless and the property tidy. I became teary when it was time to go...felt like I was leaving home!
