- Good size kitchen and lounge - Worst hostel we stayed in Iceland, we wanted to walk out the minute we checked in, but we were told we would be charged for both nights anyway, so we had no choice and we stayed - hated the smell in this hostel - the whole place looked old and tired and needed renovation - the shower on the first floor was awful, you had to push the water button every 30 seconds - our room was right beside the toilet, we could hear and smell everything - unfriendly staff member - corridors full of luggage, boxes etc

Simple place, cheap, not far away from city center. Uncomplicated staff. Sheets were clean and the room was tidy. Poor showering facilities --- the shower on the third floor didn't work, so there was in effect one shared shower for two floors. The room was ice cold when I first checked in, it could be a nice idea to pre-heat the room in fall / winter. The walls are also pretty thin, and I was forced to listen to the typical young traveling couple enjoying themselves just a bit too loudly at night...

The breakfast was ok, and the location is kind of good. About 10 minutes walk from the city centre, and there are some options for food and market close by. When we were booking day tours we were giving Guesthouse Pavi as pick up point as it's just a couple of blocks away. This place was a big disappointment. We were given the worst room in the place, very small and with wooden walls where you could hear absolutely everything in the room next door and really bad lighting. Also we requested a double bed which they dont have in the hotel, it's only singles. The room was clean when we arrived but doesnt matter how long you stay they dont clean your room at all or change towels etc. The staff isnt very helpful but not rude or any problems. The worst part of all was the bathroom, they dont have constant hot water, it's actually COLD!!!, the shower is timed and you must press a button several times to have a normal shower and it's actually a handheld shower! is not even in the top. So shower quality was absolutely awful. And they have only 1 for the entire hotel. I would still recommend if you are on a budget (not that this place is cheap) but as Iceland is very expensive and if you book last minute is this or something extremely expensive, but if you look for hotel in advance you can certainly find better options for the same cost better than this. If you do go for this hotel ask not to be put in the 3rd floor where the small rooms are ;)

It had a roof, four walls and a door. No hand basin in the room; no shower hose in shower cubicle; tiny room; looked like the previous occupant had smeared snot on the wall, top floor difficult to access with cases.

The Guesthouse is located close to city center, it is value for money and the people treatment is very good. The breakfast food choice is not very big, but food is tasty. There's large choice of rooms for different amount of people.

My single room was very small and had no wash basin as stated when I made the booking. There were only two showers and three toilets in three floors and some 20 rooms. The breakfast was poor. The entire building is in desperate need for renovation (or demolition). For a quarter of the price I paid it may be value for money.

Our stay at the hotel was very nice. The atmosphere is very family-like. There is a breakfast included. The location is good (5 min walking to the city bus station, where there is supermarket and some restaurants). We rented also a car since the hotel keepers do also car rental.

Maggi is delightful and helpful! The bed was comfortable and the room and the bathroom was clean. Nice breakfast each day. Enjoyed the range of ages of guests, too. Great location. For visitors unfamiliar with Iceland and the geothermal heating, the smell of the water in the shower takes a little getting used to. Maybe higher end hotels' bathing water does not smell of sulphur, but the smell doesn't linger and would still stay there again.

Found this place online, cancelled our other hostel (which was much more expensive) and stayed here instead. Only good thing I can say is the price. Seemed much more like a flophouse than a 'guesthouse'. Tiny, tiny room and the whole place smelled kind of bad. I'm not super picky but it was easily the least enjoyable place we stayed in Iceland.

Great value for money, close to the center, and very nice and helpful owner. We also were able to rent the car (as he does car rentals) for 3 days, at much better price than the usual big names (who have booths at the airport). Great budget accomodation for us! P.S. If going there from airport, take the GreyLine coach instead of FlyBus - it's cheaper, and drops off at the guesthouse too.
