“ We have stayed at many okay hotels - but Hotel Egilsen surpasses them all. Egilsen has personality, top modern digital facilities, wonderfull design and comfort. The hotel is very little and nice. Here you find the sence of the details. The staff is very freindly. Thank you for this experince! ”

Very high tech rooms with iPod dock and electronic dimmers Breakfast was extra and it was more expensive than other iceland hotels we stayed in

Everybody must taste Greta's breakfast! It was my best hotel breakfast! The hotel is excellent and Stykkisholmur is beautiful!

Hotel Egilsen is perfectly positioned in an old building right above the harbour and with great views - Stykkisholmur is a beautiful place. The rooms have nice subtle decorations - everything done very recently and in good quality. I hadn't heard about "Coco mats" before, but they are firm and of a superior quality. Supplying an iPad per room is a very good feature. The breakfast was great with smoothie, freshly cut vegetables and fresh and dried fruit; in addition offer of freshly cooked eggs - my scrambled were just as they should be. It was a great experience, and should my travels ever take me close to Stykkisholmur I will stay at Egilsen's again. Personally I prefer smaller / thinner head pillows .....

Beautiful hotel. Great attention paid to every detail. Friendly, helpful staff. Lovely location. Rooms are small but very comfortable. Delicious breakfast! Very, very enjoyable stay.

Arredamento di design, stupendo... nulla da dire. Doccia, lavabo, sedie, letto. Nella stanza c'era un dock per poter sentire la musica col proprio iphone/ipod e in dotazione un iPad per poter navigare su internet. Ottima colazione. E la posizione ottima: di fronte ad un ottimo ristorante di pesce, e a un passo dal porto col traghetto per l'altra parte del fiordo. La finestra e il muro al quale era appoggiata la testa del letto erano a 50cm dalla strada: non é stato un grosso problema, ma potrebbe esserlo in periodi piú trafficati.

Tout était parfait, petit hôtel dans une très belle maison ancienne, en plein centre d'une ville des plus charmante, à la décoration très stylée, et au confort impeccable. Mise à disposition en chambre de peignoirs (belle salle de bain moderne), et d'un iPad avec wifi. Petit déjeuner délicieux, servi dans de la vaisselle en céramique fabriquée par une artiste locale, dans un salon très cosy, mais non inclus dans le tarif de base (2000kr). Bibliothèque à disposition avec nombreux beaux livres (langue anglaise pour la plupart). Comme partout en Islande des tarifs un peu élevés.

Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. Cosy room, well designed with very good facilities. Excellent breakfast. A good base for exploring the Snaefellsnes peninsula. Good restaurants very close by. Not a dislike but hotel would be better value for money if breakfast was included in the price.

Friendly staff; beautifully appointed room; great location looking at the market this hotel are aiming at, there could have been tea and coffee making facilities in the room; instead we had to pay extra for these
