Staff were lovely. The bathroom had lovely fixtures. The location was very good. They need a sign on the back side which is what you see when you drive into town. Wifi was very strong. No trouble getting on and making future reservations.

Room was very small, but it had charm. We did not have the breakfast so can't comment on that. I thought to the room was overpriced for the space.

The small size and interior decoration of the hotel. The friendly staff. "Hyggeligt" is the right danisk word. Breakfast is just right.

The staff are the best I have ever encountered in hundreds of hotel stays. The details of the little things such as china and linen are very well done. We were given very good suggestions about local activities.

All of the rooms are small, but those on the top floor (four out of ten) are too small for a couple and, arguably too small for a single.

The Egilsen hotel is a gem in Iceland. It's a very charming place, with a lot of character and attention to details. Lovely rooms and delicious breakfast

Nothing…we liked it so much that we got back twice in the same week. Of course is not cheap, but what's cheap in Iceland???

Nicely decorated room, comfortable bed, very nice shower--great water pressure. Wi-Fi worked well and was consistent.

Would have been nice if the front lounge was more inviting. If you're interested in purchasing tea, coffee or wine the place is great. However everywhere else we stayed offered complimentary tea and coffee which was very nice. Fairly pricey for what you get. A nice room/bathroom but not much else.

Three good restaurants within a minutes walk from the hotel as well as the Volcanic Museum which is definitely worth seeing. Amongst a lot of interesting displays it also has an hour long film by National Geographic about the biggest volcanic explosion in historical times and the impact it had on the world's climate in 1816. The hotel was very comfortable, with good views of the harbour from some rooms. We were lucky enough to be staying on the evening when a free concert had been organised just for the hotel guests, with an Icelandic folk singer, Lay Low. A very friendly place to stay.

It was at the top end of our budget and doesn't include breakfast within its high cost.

Updated, modern refurbished ancient houseWonderful. Nice and outgoing, helpful, and attentive Staff there all the time. Gracious. Common area to relax in had a very nice library of classics and Icelandic literature , photo books, guides etc. they have a little bar so one can get beer etc with nuts and have a nice talk with other travelers. Shower was forceful and hot as Iceland uses geothermal heat. Beds were very comfiortable. Breakfast was pretty good, homade breads and jams, the coffee was to die for!!! The rooms are small, especially the singles. Would return. Slept great. This is a tiny town with believe it or not good dinner restaurants.

The single room's shower is small.

Location is convenient for the ferry to the West Fjords. Rooms in the attic are quiet. Ipad one is porvided with is useful, however, does not replace a television for those who feel they need that.

Rooms are quite small. There is no tissue, just an extra roll of toilet paper. Nice interior architecture but decor is eclectic and does not fit the architecture. Breakfast is good but expensive.

Very cosy and nicely decorated room and hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location on walking distance of all restaurants and right across the harbour.

Nothing really, we loved it all! You should be aware the room might be a bit small (for the price), but they mention the smaller, more cosy rooms up front.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was modern with an awesome shower. The staff was professional and friendly. By far, the breakfast was the best we had during our holiday in Iceland: fresh breads, salmon, fruit smoothie, coffee, eggs, granola, and jams. No television, but there is wi-fil service to watch movies on your computer or IPad.

No complaints. One suggestion: provide Kleenex (facial tissues).
