The sky is dark, no sources of light pollution around, mountains aside are not tall, so you see the sky from left to right without obstacles. We had chance to see beautiful northern lights, and it was awesome. Just use one of two large spaces on the road that lead to the hotel, there are the darkest spots for observing. Hotel is very clean and soundproof. Good breakfast.

Self check-in instructions were sent ahead of time so arriving late was no problem. Hotel was very responsive to messages. They required you to take your shoes off at the entrance of both the hotel and the breakfast buildings, first time doing this in Europe and I liked it very much. I especially liked the staff who were very friendly and helpful. They gave us tips on when and how to see the Northern Lights and we actually got to see them the night we were there. I highly recommend this hotel, it is right down the street from the Godafoss waterfalls, a key attraction for anyone doing the full circle.

The barn is converted into a very modern hotel. You can not beet it’s location across the street from Godsfoss. Nor it’s panoramic pasture views which are perfect for Aurora watching. Community room and breakfast room are lovely and the breakfast was a great start to the day.
