Wunderschöne Lage Nähe Wasserfall, freundliche, hilfsbereite Leute, ruhige Lage, reizvolle Umgebung, Natur, geräumige, saubere Zimmer (Zimmer hatten wir Anbau vor dem Haupthaus an der Campingwiese)

The location. The food was good albeit rather expensive.

Some of the rooms in the 'old' block are very small and dated. We were allocated one of these rooms even though we had booked and fully paid (top bucks!) 4 months prior to our visit based on the rooms seen on the hotel's website. The rooms shown on the website bear nor resemblance to the room that we were allocated. Eventually, the hotel agreed to move us to another room but only after three visits to reception to complain. We asked to see the manager but she was not available! The Foss chain of hotels need to improve the training of their reception staff and how they deal with guests.

Staff were unhelpful and I'll informed about the local area. When asked for directions to specific places, directions were very inaccurate. Rooms were poorly maintained and double rooms were very small and stuffy. Food was very over priced and a very limited menu. The petrol station across the road was the best place to eat.

The location was very close to lots of activities in the National Park and also many walking and hiking trails. The weather in Skaftafell also was nicer than we had experienced in other parts of Iceland. The lobby was very nice and was a nice place to just relax and read or watch tv. The food at dinner--even though pricey--was excellent with very generous portions. We were very fortunate to see an excellent display of the Northern Lights both nights we were there and Skaftafell is the perfect place to see them since it is far from any city light interference.

Skaftafell seemed pretty remote and there was very little to do with the exception of the hiking and outdoor activities and few services close by. Also, our room was pretty small but still comfortable.

The hotel has great location- only 3 km from skaftafell visitor center and 1 km from the biggest glacier in europe. The views from the hotel are outstanding. mountains, falls, glaciers,rivers,birds... However, the hotel is a monopol(there are no many other hotels/motels in the area) and as a result - its very pricey. The dinner there is absolutly over - priced, at least 35 euros for a very humble and small dinner, I recommend eating in Vik or Hofn if you want good resturants or any gas station if you like fast food. The Breakfast was rich and tasty!

Well located.

The staff was accommodating when we asked to change rooms as those assigned were not suitable. The dining room was elegant and the staff well organized and polite. Top Notch.

The information on the rooms was not as clear as it should be. We have booked more than 6 months in advance and were put into a building behind the main hotel with rooms that were like an army barracks. When I asked to be moved, they did move us both (two bookings had been made) with no trouble but the hotel was not busy and so they were able to.

Beds were great and location was great for glacier exploration. Very peaceful and quite.

Breakfast buffet needs to be upgraded.

No wifi in the room. Facilities ok. This is about location.
