The sauna was refreshing after a few days without it! The neighborhood is a real fisher industry environment (harbor). So somewhat 'rundown'. The outside of the hotel 'looks' the same, but inside it different world (really friendly atmosphere inside).

Framnes is an old fishermen's hotel in the middle of the fisher harbour. It is a very sober hotel, with small rooms, a shower and toilet, a TV with just 3 stations and thats it. But it is very clean, the beds are good. They offer free WIFI (!), even have two computers to read your email in the hallway, they offer a hottub and sauna and a message chair. This hotel is clean, friendly, and offers a good night sleep for a reasonable price. They have an very good restaurant: eat fresh caught fish, delicious lamb! Very friendly staff. A good stay to visit the beautiful west side of Iceland. The pictures on the side suggest a tourist hotel at the sea. In fact it is located at the harbour. It is not a romantic place at all. A good place to eat and sleep. Take a good book and go to bed early! Not for families with small children.

Excellent staff. We stayed one night in 12 August 11, we received an outstanding service from all hotel staff, particularly ones who handles our reservations and check-in (best of the best). Hotel has a sea view (smaller) and a mountain view (larger), and we, two adults and one child, stayed at a larger room which was very comfortable. Hotel restaurant was excellent; we enjoyed the best meal in Iceland (langoustine!). The hotel has a sea view hot tub, a sauna, and a massage chair (!!), it was very nice. Finally, the hotel has almost semi-private boat cruise from 11:00, 2:00 and we booked but needed to cancel due to a bit cold weather (bring your warm jacket, which we did not). Hope you can enjoy it. A room facility is standard and sound proof is not perfect. This is a reasonably priced "Inn", so do not expect too much. The hotel does not have an elevator, so you should carry your luggage up to third floor (but hotel staff (girls) helped us to carry one big suit case to the third floor, thanks!)

The rooms were extremely clean. The seafood and fish for dinner was very very good and the staff was helpful and spoke English well, which was necessary because we only speak English. Thank you for the very short but enjoyable stay. We will stay with you again if we come to your area.

1St the staff service was excellent, On the day of departure we forgot one of our walking sticks in the room. After leaving the hotel we visited the heritage museum recommended by the staff (very interesting) when we finished the visit the lady at the museum asked us if the stick is ours, they could of asked us to retrieve it from the hotel but it was brought to the museum what a service!! Very good Breakfast including pan cakes, big rooms. THANK YOU HOTEL Framnes for a great stay. Leo

The staff was very helpful. The setting is a fishing factory, but the surrounding area is great. There are spotlights outside hotel which are very distracting at night.

A really comfortable hotel with the best breakfasts we'd had in Iceland. The staff were all friendly and offered brilliant advice about local tourist attractions and restaurants in the area. As it was out of season the hotel restaurant was closed but it would have been nice if snacks could have been offered in the evening. Also a bath robe to wear to get to/from the hot tub/sauna would have been nice.

Beautiful area although the position of the hotel next to the fish processing factory may initially surprise you! Being so close to the port and the fish-factory has its advantages though, the best cooked fish I have enjoyed for years! Food is honest, fresh and wonderful in all respects.

There is almost no accommodation in this beautiful but remote part of Iceland, so we were surprised to find such charming accommodation. This cosy hotel is run by a friendly couple who serve an excellent dinner. Our room was big with a huge bathroom and proper shower - (most showers in Iceland have flimsy curtains that stick to you and flood the floor). The breakfast was good.
