Gamla Guesthouse  

- The owner spoke good English - the breakfast was awesome - the owner was so kind as to book us a room in a nearby hotel for the same price when she found out that she had to leave for Reykjavík unexpectedly

- Minor detail: I was unaware of the fact that beds were to be made and towels renewed during the stay. If I were, I would've kept the room more tidy.

The way every one in this house is doing everything to allow us to have a nice stay. thank you very much !

Excellent location, friendly staff, spacious facilities and great breakfast! Kitchenette is also available for preparing your own meals. Parking available anywhere in the vicinity, across the street there is a jetwash, which is much needed when arriving from the gravel roads from Þingeyri.

Maybe the absence of a pillow in a sleeping bag shared rooms.

Gamla was great, but definitely pricey. The showers were okay compared to some of the other guesthouses I stayed in, E.G. edda in Myvatn and center guesthouse in reykjavik. The receptionist we spoke with was awesome. An older woman who grew up in thingeyri was very helpful with details and directions.

The atmosphere was really nice and cozy, it felt kind of like being in somebody's house. The bathrooms were clean and spacious and the location is also good. I didn't use the kitchen myself but it looked like it was pretty well-equipped.

A lovely place. Clean, friendly, cosy. Good quality breakfast. Upstairs rooms are best as it is more private when you come out to the bathrooms.

Sleeping bag accommodation but their mattresses were very comfy. Shared room with two other travelers which is always a roll if the dice but worked out fine. Common spaces and bathrooms were clean and fine.

The actual reception to the guesthouse (which is in a different location than we actually statyed) was closed when we went so we had to go to Hotel Isfjordur for all our check in details.

Very clean and comfortable guesthouse with a delicious full breakfast spread every morning. Small TV included in room. Felt like a home away from home.

Super petit déjeuner avec beaucoup d'aliments différents. Calme et sans bruit. On avait l'impression d'être seuls alors que ce n'était pas le cas.

Sehr charmantes Gästehaus direkt im Zentrum. Die Besitzerin war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer hatten eine angenehme Größe und waren sehr gemütlich. Das Frühstücksbuffet war auch sehr lecker. WLAN gabs auch in den Zimmern. Ich würde dieses Gästehaus sofort weiter empfehlen.

Propreté du lieu et disponibilité du personnel

Personalen var mycket tillmötesgående och trevlig Frukosten var utmärkt. Matsalen var jättetrevlig och mycket trevligt att man kunde servera sig själv kaffe där på kvällen. Mycket trevligt ställe som vi väldigt gärna rekommenderar Vänligen Margaretha och Hans Hörlin

Eftersom vi hyrde ett dubbelrum kunde det ha varit trevligt med två stolar att lägga kläder på. Det fanns bara en.

Der var en yderst positiv indstilling til tingene blandt personalet. Når jeg havde specielle ønsker imødekom personalet dem med et smil. Desuden sørgede de for bus, da jeg skulle til lufthavnen.

Hôtel de charme situé dans une rue calme au coeur de la ville elle-même au chuad dans un fjord merveilleux. Chambre douillette. On est chez soi même si les sanitaires sont communs mais en nombre suffisant. Petit - déjeuner excellent et copieux servi dans un petit-salon comme on n'en trouve plus.

Très joli guesthouse excellemment tenu et idealement situé pour visiter les fjords de l'Ouest. service impeccable bref un endroit idéal lors d'un séjour en Islande.

Le charme de l'établissement bien positionné en centre ville ,la chambre qui pour une fois n'était pas située en sous-sol avec vue sur le trottoir ( ou sans vue du tout ),comme c'est le cas pratiquement systématiquement en Islande pour les chambres individuelles des Guesthouses.

L'absence de prise électrique dans la chambre pour recharger les batteries des différents appareils (portable,photo,...)

Be careful with your head in the dormer rooms!

Frühstück war super. Probleme: Die Heizung liess sich nicht abstellen und war trotz Stellung auf 0 die ganze Nacht an, was bei offenem Fenster und <10° nachttemperatur ein Unsinn ist. Morgens dann war sie aus.
