Close to centre with only a 10 mins walk around the lake
It was a nice size room which was laid out nicely. Compared to other places in this city, hotel was inexpensive.
There are only two shower stalls and toilets per floor. There was a little noise from the hallway at night.
Very nice and helpfull staff available all the time; good location (10 mins walk to city centre, 2 mins walk to the park and pond, 7 mins walk to the bus station); super clean shared bathroom (it looks like someone cleans it every few minutes!), rooms are clean and fairly equiped. Although there is a domestic airport nearby, the noice isn't annoying and for someone who likes a view of planes it's added value :) For breakfast there is plenty of choice and it's delicious and fresh and made of local and continental products. We also had to leave earlier on one day and person from the staff prepared us sandwiches and something to drink before 6 am.
Wifi works well only in the reception area. We also had difficulties with opening a window.
Blinds. Mostly good but a blind that would cut out all the light would be good for people not used to sleeping through the light nights
situation from bsi, clean, lockers (bring your own lock)
All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly
Very close to the city center Simple but nice rooms with washbasin
everything was very clean and nice. good breakfast and helpful staff. just outside of the city venter (few minutes walking) and with car park. highly recommended!
the bed wasnt very confortable, but this is subjective, I guess.
Very comfortable bed Clean Good breakfast included Use of kitchen Good location New
Poor internet signal in the rooms Kitchen overcrowded with people with computers. Shared bathrooms are new and nice but flooded.
Everything was new Good kitchen
Every Single door was banging...
friendly staff at the reception perfectly situated - not in the middle of the town, not too far from towncenter! Rooms nicely renovated!
if guests have to pay 2.ooo ISK for the breakfast, the statement "coffee is out" (at 8.30) is not acceptable!
Close to center.
Room had a strange smell, very basic equipped, shared bathroom, youth hostel type (quiet expensive).
Fantastic WiFi (but that could have been because the WiFi access point was literally in our room :-))
Staff were very helpful. We arrived a few hours early but a room was made available to us. The breakfast was great.
Comfortable place to stay, good bedrooms, excellent breakfast, and just 10minutes from the city center. You can park your car here,in the city center you can't for free.
reasonal price for iceland. very clean, friendly staff, very good breakfast
10mins to city center
Staff were most helpful and welcoming, the facilities were excellent in relation to the cost, very clean and recently refurbished. Brilliant for a no frills stay.
The whole place feels well thought out and our room was perfect - all we needed, very clean and all almost new. The location was just what we wanted - next to the 'pond' - just a 5/10 minute walk to the center past nesting ducks and geese and a wildlife area nearby. Also next door is the National Museum and the University Students Union Bar with big screen. Staff very helpful - making phone calls for us, checking things out for us and good breakfast too!
Location was easy to find
It was terrible noise in the night. The whole night people came and went.
+ Very clean + WiFi worked in room + Great breakfast + Nice location (right next to the city lake, short walk to city centre) + Free parking in front of the hotel
- They only have rooms with two separate beds, but that seems to be the standard in Iceland
Best value for money ever. Decent breakfast, clean, free wifi at the lobby, reasonable location (Reykjavik is a small city, almost everything is within a walking distance). The hotel is a former student's residence, so expect bathrooms in the hallway, but there is a in-room hand-basin.
Some staff was not that nice, that was a minor problem as the morning staff was superb!
The cleanliness of the whole place, particularly the bathrooms. Helpful friendly staff, good breakfast buffet. A good place to stay provided you do not expect a luxury hotel. Reasonable rates. very happy we choose it.
Staff were perfectly friendly and helpful, rooms and facilities were perfectly clean and modern and in flawless working order, location is very convenient and offers an great view of the surrounding area.
The shared toilets/showers (at end of hall) posed a slight challenge (mostly because I was unprepared - I should've brought a bathrobe and sandals for getting to/from the shower). Also, the window faced a busy road and local airport - opening the window during warm weather can be noisy.
Helpful staff, Comfortable beds, Decent breakfast
Very basic hotel, more like a high-end youth hostel. A 5-10 min. walk to the city-center.
The guest kitchen is amazing! Fully equipped and very clean. The washrooms were kept very clean as well. The buffet breakfast has lots of choice and the staff are very helpful and fun.
We stayed on the bottom floor in the basement which feels a bit like an institution. But once in the room, it's actually quite nice. The doors do slam quite heavily which echoes through the corridor.
