Guesthouse Gardur Apartments

Clean and renovated rooms, good beds (which is not to be taken for granted in Iceland), conveniently close to Keflavik Airport, Gardur is a pleasant small town with all amenities and a good base for the exploration of the Reykjanes peninsula.

The room rate was fixed in EUR, payment in ISK, which is very common in Iceland. The applied exchange rate was unfavourable, compared to other hotels and made the price 5-10% higher than agreed. Kitchen was announced to be well equipped but there was only one small pot and one big frying pan, nothing in between.

Beautiful apartment. Great location near the airport as we had an early flight. Close to the beach. We watched the northern lights from the nearby lighthouse. The owner was welcoming and helpful

realy close to the international airport and blue lagoon.....and it is clean, comfortable.....people there are really friendly....I love this place....but car is really necessary in Iceland...without a car, it is really hard to go around....

We booked a 2-room apartment but get a spacious 3-bedroom apartment instead, it was very nice, with large kitchen and living room.

Great Location near the Airport but still in a great scenic location on the sea-side near a nice lighthouse. Very quiet place, very clean and nice views for Northern Lights! The owner lives 2 minutes away so there is no problem for checking in late/early. Great price too!

Owners were very, very friendly and helpful . We stopped for directions at the bank ,she offered to let us use the phone but it was her we were trying to call .We were too early and they graciously let us stay in another apt till it was ready.We were exhausted from our trip.It was near a little grocery store and of course the bank .The view was beautiful and at night the light house shone brightly out to sea. It was close to the airport and the blue lagoon .Gardur allowed us to ease into our vacation without being overwhelmed by a big city. We will end our trip in Gardur also.

My friend and I were stopping in Iceland for a day on our way to London from the US (2 nights 1 day) and absolutely loved our stay at Guesthouse Gardur. We had chosen in based on location alone, it was one of the closest to the airport and looked to be generally close to the Blue Lagoon (our main plan for the day) on a map. We were floored by how modern, clean, and beautiful our room was. The owner and his wife were extremely helpful and friendly, even driving us to the airport to catch a bus to the Lagoon and providing us with a map of the local buses to get back. Beyond the room, the guesthouse location is in a rural paradise of rolling fields, the ocean, and ponies. We definitely recommend it!

It had four bedrooms, which is a luxury. The apartment was very clean and spacious. The kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. The location is a short walk to the beach/ocean and a restaurant. It also had WIFI, which was incredibly helpful. The owner was pleasant and knowledgeable. Everything about it was great and it was minutes from the Keflavik airport. I cannot wait to stay there on a future return trip!

A new build, so everything was fresh, clean and had a nice feeling of care and contemporary design. Owners were very friendly, helpful and welcoming.

Beware wash-hand basin in the bathroom - design over substance, unfortunately, as cupboard over the mirror makes it very difficult for any adult to brush their teeth without having to duck to avoid the cupboard. Looks great, though!

We were traveling Iceland and each day we were at a different hotel, this one was by far the most favorite. The house was close to the airport, which we in that time needed. The owner was very nice and helpful. The apartment was clean, very well equipped, and we felt at home.

Given the almost 24 hour dailight, curtains need to be longer and thicker as it is hard to sleep otherwise. Kitchen needs to be slightly better equiped and we would have preferred a king or queen bed, rather than two twins

Close to airport and blue lagoon. New cabin with well equipped kitchen , satellite tv. Good value for Iceland.

Great and helpful hosts, location in a small village with sea views. Quiet, serene stay. Accomodations clean, quite adequate for families. Walk to beach, town, and lighthouse restaurant. We enjoyed our stay!

Large, clean and good location. We arrived the guest house at 1am but checkin without any problem.

It was very a clean, large and lovely apartment well situated in the peninsula.

The only complaint - and it is small - is that the emergency exit sign shines directly into the master bedroom because there is a small window on the door. But a towel easily solved the problem.

Situated in a small village area, close to the airport the guesthouse was a good base to explore Iceland's southern areas.

We used the place as our home base while exploring the Reykjanes peninsula. Its location was great for this and it was a fantastic place to stay.

Beautiful location, cosy rooms with sitting area, eating area and well stocked kitchen. Easy drive from the international airport and close to the light house and sea. We selected the place for our last day of vacation and could go from there to the airport comfortably at 6.30 am

Het is een heel ruim appartement. Ideaal gelegen t.o.v. vliegveld, 10 minuten rijden.

De keuken en woonkamer zijn aan vernieuwing toe.
