Bjarnargerdi Guesthouse

Room was lovely, modern and clean. Excellent shared large kitchen and living area as well as bedroom with own bathroom. Views from room excellent. Had snow blizzards and couldn't travel and family owners very friendly and helpful when stuck. Stayed for an extra night

We were quite early but that was no problem at all. We received a very warm welcome. The room, bathroom and kitchen were all very clean. The view was stunning, especially from the hot pot, which was a big plus as well!

We were there in September, so the busy season was over. I can imagine it can be quite crowded if all the rooms are occupied. Especially since there was only one bathroom, unless he only pointed out that one because we were there at the same time as only two other couples.

Brand new hostel with nice bright colourful rooms and a good living/kitchen area. Spacious rooms and good shower.

Needs a second sink in the kitchen.

It's a great guesthouse in a very nice location. It's very good value for money.

I like the location is well situated to visit Akureyri (15km) and the WiFi connection was excellent. The staff was friendly

The furniture was really old and beaten. The smell of the room was disgusting and the toilets made weird noises even when not used. And over all it was dirty, the room and the bathroom need a real clean up.

The price is fantastic for what you get- a comfortable, clean room with very friendly staff who went out of their way to make sure we were ok and who were also great in giving advice on local attractions. The bed were huge and unbelievably comfortable after a day of exploring. The bathroom was small, but the shower had good pressure and heat. The kitchen is great- fully equipped and very spacious. There are 2 hot tubs on the property which is a bonus! (However we didn't actually use them as we were too tired at the end of the day!) The guesthouse is about a 10-15 minute drive out of Akureyri with lovely views over the town, mountains and ocean. No real complaints about this guesthouse! We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely recommend it to friends.

Occasionally it could get a little loud with people coming and going in the hallway, but guests were quite considerate and attempted to be quiet.

Everything was really perfect! We found the room, the common kitchen and the structure in general very clean. The staff was very nice and kind with us, they upgraded us to the best room for the same price (we had more space for our baby that is 11 month old). Also the position is amazing: you have a view of the fjord and... What is more beautiful than having a hot-pot looking to the sea??? The best price-quality ratio ever in Iceland!

One shower between 4 rooms, ie 8 people so had to wait for availability sometimes. A handbasin in the room would have been good.

An easy drive to Akureyri. Easy to find. Great facilities and friendly family orientated business. Was able to use Hotel facilities at frong for breakfast and evening times.

Friendly stuff,very nice location,spacious room,with comfotable beds,possibility of full service common kitchen, outside grill,hot tube Wide range time for using breakfast with varied selection.There was all we need for good holidays.

Only first day ,there were on breakfast very empty- no cups,no bread, no eggs and- ........ but later on the request It was accompanied by all....the second day it was OK.

The young man at the reception was very friendly. Comfortable room and good breakfast.

Beautiful location overlooking fields, ffords and snow-capped mountains. Great hot tub in the garden. Appartment was well equipped if a little tired, staff lovely & friendly.

Nothing really. We hadn't realised that it was 15 kms from Ayureki but as we had a car, that wasn't a problem.

Clean Place owned by a nice family that care a lot about the happiness of their guests.

The location was in very nice place with garden, clean, and confortable, the staff was very kind. It was hotpot in the garden. You can use the kitchen. The breakfast was very good

There was not bathroom inside the room. you have to walk to the main hotel for breakfast (we were lucky because was a beautiful wheather) The price was expensive for the room, (but we saw the hotel prices in Island are always expensive) his location was faraway of the city

Really nice location and they have a great hot tube facing the fjord. Very good value for money.

Everyone was very nice and the room was very clean, plus there was good access to facilities like a kitchen and hot tub.

Friendly staff, nice breakfast, clean rooms (even though the walls are thin, we could hear our neighbours talking). Their hot tub has a view of the fjord, and that is awesome! Considering the prices in Iceland this place has a very good price/quality ratio.

Nice location -- beautiful views of Akureyri across the water, with the mountains as a backdrop. The sunsets are amazing, especially from the hot tub. Nice facilities.
