The owners were so welcoming and just an adorable family. The house is located right by the black sand beach and about 10 minutes from vik. The house itself is decorated so well with wood paneling and a lovely kitchen and sitting area. We had a room with a shared bathroom, this was my first time doing this and it wasn't awful but I wouldn't do that again. I would def recommend getting the rooms without the shared bathroom but it may just be me bc I was always stressed about it.
The sattelite was down so the tv wasn't working but who needs a tv really. But the house transmits a lot of sound so it's ok but if you end up being there when loud guests are there you may have a hard time sleeping. For us we had a wonderful group but even the doors when they close echo with a lot of noise.
Very friendly staff who were keen to answer questions about living in Iceland. Amazing breakfast with lots of freshly baked rolls and pancakes. Beautiful area and probably excellent for Northern Lights if the sky was clear as out of town.
* Phenomenal breakfast, including smoked lamb from the farm's stock. * Extremely nice hostess. * Comfy rooms
* Nothing. My wife and I had a great time.
We have enjoyed everything: good location for visiting the south coast, excellent breakfast, warm welcome and very attentive people.
Lovely, clean and well presented room, excellent staff and fabulous breakfast! Great value for money, we would defintely stay here again.
Wow. From the welcome we received from Eva, to the breakfast she laid on, what an amazing place to stop.
I can't think of anything to say… the weather? It was a filthy evening when we arrived!
The guesthouse was absolutely charming and gorgeous, with thoughtful details and very clean. The woman who cooked us breakfast, Eva, made the most spectacular breakfast spread from scratch. Our bathroom was enormous and well lit. It was wonderful!
Our room was just off of the communal kitchen, so when people are using it, it could feel like there is lack of privacy. It is about a 10 minute drive into Vik, which probably only seems far when there are hurricane strength winds (like we experienced late Oct.).
Home-made breakfast was the best food we ever had in Iceland, everything was fresh and really delicious. The cottage itself was super clean and comfortable, with everything decorated nicely, it just felt really homely. Really great hostess and their dog Tina was adorable. This is a really excellent accommodation, completely recommend!
This Guesthouse was the best we stayed in during our week’s holiday in Iceland. We received a warm welcome with tea and cakes on arrival. The Guesthouse is very clean, well equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds and it has free parking….. I will recommend it to family and friends.
The inn was warm and inviting. Eva is a wonderful host. You will leave feeling more like a local than a tourist. The breakfast was outstanding. And the views at the end of the road are among the most amazing in the world.
Fancy looking and homemade breakfast
The room door and washroom door locks with a traditional metal stick key which was tedious to lock and unlock.
The cottage is like a small Iceland home from home. We loved it. The room and the public areas were just lovely. We used the kitchen in the evening to make ourselves some dinner. In the morning Eva cooked us a fantastic breakfast including homemade bread and pancakes. She even made me some gluten free pancakes which were delicious and very much appreciated. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Iceland.
everything, i like the room, the sitting room and the breakfast made by Julia
Super delicious home-made breakfast, warm bed, cozy decor, nice hot shower, great location and helpful welcoming hostess, what do you ask for more? Will definitely return in the future:)
good staff, good breakfast
Excellent stay for a guesthouse, everything was homemade and we simply loved it. The guesthouse also offers unobstructed sky view to watch the northern lights too....
This place seems to come out from a fairytale! Breakfast table was the best assortment of homemade delights we have seen in our life. Beautiful decor, stunning surroundings, isolated enough to have a good chance to see the Northern Lights without too much wandering. We can't praise it enough!
Breakfast! Hosts. Room. View. Location. Everything was great! Would recommend to anyone.
Wi-fi not perfect downstairs Other than that
We loved the way the kitchen was arranged so that all the ten guests could sit around the table and enjoy each other's company as well as the great surroundings, outstanding host and superb breakfast.
A fabulous stay. Julija could not have been more accommodating. Our bedrooms were exactly as those in the pictures - not always the case. Amazing breakfast and it lived up to its title and more - gracious...
We didn't catch the northern lights but I think that might have been even beyond Julija abilities. ..
Everything was great! Spacious, clean and beautiful room, elegant interior, a piece of cake for dinner (free of charge), functional kitchen, magnificent landskape, delicious and nutricious breakfast and a friendly hostess Julia from Latvia who spoke Russian, helped us a lot and baked great pancakes and buns!
Loved the whole place. Great location near the lighthouse overlooking the Dyrholaey. The decor was beautiful and beds were comfortable. We have a lovely breakfast in the morning with an interesting conversation with the caretaker.
From the moment ofour last minute booking to the tume we left, I could not believe what a jewel the Guesthouse was. We arrived cold and wet and the place was warm and inviting. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the whole house is clean! Waking up to the smell of coffee and warm pancakes was just delightful!
- Staff/ Breakfast: The staff was extraordinary nice, for breakfast they served selfmade bread - which was great! - Rooms: The rooms were very clean and the beds were the best we had in a hotel. Plus: the upper rooms offer a good view to watch the northern lights also from inside where it is warm... - Place: It is ideal to visit most of the southern icelandic highlights. If we would go to the south of iceland again, we would definitely stay again in this guesthouse.
Nothing. It was close to perfect.
