Grimsborgir Luxury Apartments  

The apartments were ideally located near Geysir, Gulfoss and Pinvelir. The accomadation itself was beautifully decorated and incredibly comfortable. Huge stitting room, fully equipped kitchen and dining area as well as hot tubs and barbeque outside-fantastic for a group of friends, family or even as in our case a romantic getaway. The owners were charming and incredibly helpful and knowledgeable when it came to us getting around. The food at the resturant which is located on the grounds of the apartments, served up sole and traditional Icelandic dishes- all of which were delicious. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay. I would recommend it to anyone.

This is definatly the best place we have ever stayed and we travel alot. The decor is brand new and just so tasteful. The facilities are incredible the manager/owner went out of his way to accomodate us with getting is breakfast the night before we had to leave at 4:30am. Te water is beautiful straight out the geysir so untouched natural water to shower and bath in. The hot tub outside was such a real treat. This place is gorgeous and the perfect place to see the northern lights in the middle of no where just you and nature. The hotel offers meals and its not far from sightseeing like Gulfoss and the geysir. If you want to get away from it all and just relax in the middle of nature...then this is the place for you.....

Modern, well-equipped, spacious apartments in an area ideal for exploring the 'Goldern Circle' by car. We were very impressed with the quality of the apartments and furniture. Beds were very comfortable. The owners of the apartments warmly welcomed us and were exceedingly helpful in recommending places to visit and explore. Breakfast served in the main house was of a high standard. For Brits, there is a flat-screen TV with all the UK channels and a dvd player!

Not really an issue, but the outside hot tub was not as private as we had hoped, but it was certainly a great experience to bathe under the stars, surrounded by snow in idyllic surroundings.

Great place to relax and near all the main (natural) attractions in Southern Iceland. Really good service, modern comfortable and clean apartments, and great views from the hot tub on the deck!

We stayed in an apartment that could have easily slept up to 6 people. It was absolutely beautiful. Mainly IKEA furnished and felt very modern and new and yet warm and cozy at the same time. Every apartment has it's own hot tub as well as wifi that worked very well. The restaurant is wonderful (had dinner there twice). Best lobster I've had in awhile. The owners are very nice and accommodating. It's kind of in the middle of no where, about an hour from the city, so if you're taking a lot of tours from Rejykavik, then the location might not be ideal for you but we drove quite a bit, so it was perfect for us. Plus, I liked feeling like we were in a less crowded countryside. Only other tiny downside.. water has a sulfer-y smell, but I think you get that a lot in Iceland.

Extremely pleasant owners and staff, vast breakfast buffet, tasty and nicely served dinners, good sized accommodations

Guests should be informed more clearly upon check-in that rooms are being cleaned upon request only

The owners tried to assist us in every way possible. They were very gracious. The food was superb.

Grimsborger is a newly constructed and lovingly managed property located in the countryside outside Selfoss and off the Ring Road (Rt.1), but so close to so many other wonderful sights! Both days I stayed there I stayed gone from early morning until late at night seeing the sights without putting major mileage on the rental car! The owners are the consumate hosts, and the property is maintained to a very high standard. Let's just say when I walked in and saw the toilet paper roll folded like they do in 5 star hotels I knew I was going to be a fantastic stay! I was the only guest at my first breakfast, but despite that Katherine rolled out the whole spread for me, including freshly baked cinnamon rolls! The countryside views from all structures are what you'd expect from rural Iceland, gorgeous! The property was spotless, and the bed was heavenly. The price is very reasonable given the quality, service and location...treat yourself...you won't be disappointed!

I only have one niggle, and I believe it doesn't have anything to do with the property owners, but whatever mapping mechanism that booking.com uses. Because this was a last minute booking for me, I used the directions on booking.com instead of the Grimsborgir website. DON'T! Take the time to go to the Grimsborgir site, or use your own mapping site The directions on booking.com do not use the common names for the street you need to take, and you will spend much more time looking for the property than you need to! Iceland is too beautiful to lose time trying to find the property. Grimsborgir is very simple to get to, just don't use the booking.com directions!

Tolles Haus mit einem Ambiente für Kenner, die Hotelmitarbeiter sind sehr bemüht und die Küche war bestens, hier serviert der Chef persöhnlich und es macht ihm Spaß, großartige Natur rundum,wenn ich wieder nach Island fahre übernachte ich nur dort,

Very nice appartment, very comfortable furnished. Perfect service. We will come again and recommend it to all travelers who travel to the south of Iceland. It is situated near the Golden Circlle. Sehr angenehm mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Viele Möbel sind von Ikea kombiniert mit Antiquitäten. Wir werden mit Sicherheit auch unseren nächsten Island-Urlaub dort verbringen. Absolut perfekt kurz vor dem Golden Circle gelegen.

Light in the kitchen could be a bit brighter.

Die Appartments sind sehr geschmackvoll und hochwertig eingerichtet und gehen definitiv als luxuriös durch! Die Lage ist angenehm ruhig - in schöner Landschaft mit genügend Abstand der einzelnen Häuser - aber nahe an den Sehenswürdigkeiten Gullfoss, Geysir und Thingvellir. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut und das Restaurant ist gut.

Der Hot Tube liegt nur an den großen Appartments.
