The apartment is modern, clean. It's got a hot tub and if you are lucky you could see Northern Lights while enjoying it. It is very close to most tourist places.

Well equipped apartments in varied sizes, choice of self-catering or excellent on-site restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff and friendly owners. Great rural location, ideal for Northern LIghts, waterfalls and Geysir, but only 10 minutes from Selfoss with its shops, restaurants and bars. Also close to the main road which circles the island

No kettle for the tea drinkers!

Noisy hot tub filling from neighbours as left it on all night.

We chose to stay here as a treat. It was our favorite place in our week in Iceland. The accommodation was fantastic and the hot tub outside the front door brilliant. We ate in the restaurant on night and cooked our own on the other. All good.

The negatives of this place are the flowing: too much lighting to see the northern lights from the apartment and no way to turn off all the outside lights. Hot tub on the wrong side of the house to relax in whilst waiting for them. And absolutely no basics in the kitchen so you have to buy loads of shopping even if you only stay one night. Some basic tea and coffee, oil and spices would have been welcome.

We booked a two-bed apartment and were upgraded to a four-bed house. The house was perfect for the two of us, but as it only had one bathroom it would not be convenient for couples sharing the house. The breakfast was good and we enjoyed dinner in the restaurant. The house was well located for sightseeing in southwest Iceland. We enjoyed the hot tub. The owner was very helpful and pleasant.

The house was not equipped with the basic tea & coffee supplies you expect from that type of accommodation. Bar soap, shampoo and conditioner were not supplied. The house was far from Selfoss and other restaurants - this would not be a problem in summer , but in winter you really don't want to drive at night. The owner was away when we arrived and the gentleman who showed us to the house spoke only a little English so he appeared unwelcoming.

Everything was fantastic about this place.

Accommodation was excellent, we had a large 4 bedroom apartment with lounge, full kitchen and bathroom - larger than we had anticipated. The location was very quiet, exactly what we wanted. Food in the restaurant was good, and the staff very polite and helpful.

we travelled as a group of friends and were all over the moon with the accomodation. It gives the wow factor very home from home. everything you would need and a hot tub which was lovely. breakfast was included nice choice and we used the restaurant in the evening excellent food. overall lovely holiday lovely people 10 out of 10 definately be back.

The accommodation was exceptional. It was spotlessly clean, modern and tastefully furnished. As we were staying for four nights and larger accommodation was available, we were upgraded to a magnificent 4 bedroom bungalow with private hot tub. We sat in the hot tub watching the Northern Lights dance over our heads - absolutely amazing. The inclusive breakfasts were very good and the evening meals in the restaurant were of excellent quality (the wine and meals were on the expensive side but I believe that is standard across Iceland). The staff and the owners went out of their way to make us welcome and provided a map of the area with all the local sites of interest marked and told us how long it would take to drive to them. The young lady who looked after us at breakfast looked up a weather forecast for us each day in order that we may calulate the odds of seeing the Northern Lights. The owners, Olaf and Kristen, were a font of local knowledge, even helping us to locate an Icelandic cookery book written in English. Overall, a suberb experience and one that we could recommend wholeheartedly.

We liked everything about the Grimsborgir Luxury Apartments. An option of paying for a welcome package with tea, coffee etc. would perhaps be a nice touch.

Unbelievably clean and well kept. Wonderful hosts, attentive and very professional. location was ideal for our purposes, day trips to National parks etc. HIGHLY recommend.

NOTHING, everything was great.

Definitely the nicest hotel we stayed at out of 7 during our 10 day trip exploring Iceland. The design was impeccable and luxurious and of incredibly high quality. The restaurant was gourmet, serving both breakfast and a lovely dinner.

Quality, space, design and facilities.

Our apartment was lovely and tastefully furnished, immaculately clean and very comfortable. Although we enjoyed wonderful meals in Iceland, our dinner at Hotel Grimsborgir was the best of our trip.

Very excellent decoration and facilities. Owner is controlling everything and doing his best that everything goes perfect.

Staff should be more professional (but it should be difficult in this country)

The apartments are wonderfull, beautifulyy decorated and fully furnished, with all cooking suplies and appliances one needs. The breakfast was great. The location is good for touring the Golden Circle

We stayed at a house that was very spacious, but having only one shower/toilet which were a bit small compared to rest of apartment was a slight inconvenience (we were 6 in the apartment). A bit overpriced but still very good

Nice decor

Price too expensive for the room, it is nothing special as we thought it is. No nice personal introduction (only the minimum during key hand- over). Hot pot could not be used since it is on the terrace of the bigger apartment with direct view of their living room....

They were a fantastic find. We were updated to a larger 4 bedroom house with its own hot tub and large patio which was perfect for long summer evening. we also ate in their restaurant which was excellent. Generally very friendly hosts and we will definately return

Nothing bad to say

We were two cuples and got a nice villa very warm and cosely designed. The villa had s sun deck a with a gas bbq, dining area and an outdoor hot water tub. All of those we enjoyed! The breakfast was good and nice seved. We had dinner one evening and enjoyed the food and the service.

We lacked basic staff in the kichen such as cutting board, tea, coffee. No hairdryer in the bathroom, nor changing of towels and daily cleaning of the house.

The rooms/apartments are very spacious with very comfortable beds. The countryside location means it its very quiet and peaceful, and there is plenty of open space around the houses (each with a couple of apartments) for parking and playing. The breakfast was very good, fresh with a good assortment of foods.

The hotel design standard is primitive in general in Iceland so don't expect luxury, but this is one of the better places.

Very luxurious summer houses (size of an apartment where we stayed). Very nice to stay in and finally very quiet :-) Nice beds, very nice bathroom. The breakfast was by far the best of our 2 weeks trip. There is a restaurant as well but we were at the end of our budget so we cooked ourselves. Very nice equipped kitchen. Compared to the prices of our other hostels/hotels this is value for money. The owner Olaf is a server himself during breakfast/dinner. Probably his passion as he studied hotel/restaurant. But considering his very succesful career as a businessman this is not straightforward, so thumbs up for Olaf :-)

Nothing that the owner Olaf and his wife can deal with but there are a lot of small flies outside (reason why you can't eat/sit outside). They don't bite so I didn't bother too much.

Everything was perfect - Comfort - Service - Food. A wonderful place to stay.

Fabulous apartments with plenty of space and well thought out facilities. The food in the restaurant was outstanding (the lamb was some of the best we have tasted). The owners were friendly and took time to explain directions and tips to the places we wanted to visit, giving us their phone number in case we got stuck. The whole area is stunning and you are withing 40mins easy drive of some truly breath-taking sites. We would definitely recommend this to others. Our teenage daughters raved about the hot tub, wifi!

Great stay. The owner was amazing. Good dinner. Wonderful environment. I strongly recommend this hotel.
