Nothing to complain at all
Everything. Free upgrade too which was amazing. Loved it, hot tub was brilliant, food especially the mushroom soup and warm chocolate cake where to die for! The apartment was beautiful; great way to relax. Thank you.
Luxury is definitely reflected in the price but if you can afford this treat hotel then do; you won't regret it!
Someone has to clean the snow! At least from the car to the door and to the tub. The dinner buffet is too "cold", not enough hot dishes.
Beautiful place to stay although care should be taken when approaching hotel in snowy weather as the road was very icy we will defiantly stay again fab hospitality
a complete rip off for the money you spend. overpriced
The hot tubs were very nice the rooms were nicely decorated the hotel was spotless, very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful.
No bath robes to go to the hot tub, or even extra towels to use, we had to go to reception to ask for more. Dinner was a buffet only option very expensive cold buffet with a very few hot choices. priced at four star standard and could easily have that potential but missing and falling short of it except the price, when compared to the other six hotels we also stayed at during our time in iceland and that area.
Everything: Location, spaciousness and design of accommodation, hot tub, restaurant and buffet, friendliness, and our national flag outside our home.
Didn't see the aurora borealis.
Location was excellent for touring round Golden Circle.Rooms are clean and beautifully presented. The bed was king size and extremely comfy.Hot tubs were a great touch.Enjoyed all meals in the restaurant.Staff very helpful.
Would like to suggest that tea and coffee tray cups and wine glasses were cleaned or replaced.
Hotel is located close to Thingvellir national park and is a great starting point to visit the Golden Circle. Facilities are absolutely fabulous with fantastic design and quality furniture (as a baby cot we even had a proper wooden cot, not just a travel cot)! Hotel is also very well maintained. Terrace/jacuzzi are the perfect places to watch Northern Lights as there are no lights around and the view is great. Breakfast is fantastic with fresh and local products. The restaurant is also very good. I would also like to mention the fantastic service that was provided by the staff and especially María. They were very professional and friendly. Grimsborgir is definitely one of the best hotels I stayed in!
There was nothing no to like about Grimsborgir hotel!
The management was so very attentive to our needs and provided us with all kinds of information as to what to see and how to get there. Food was excellent!
The best hotel that ive stayed in iceland, i stay in 3 different luxury hotel but grimsborgir are the best! Staffs are very kind and helpfull, well designed hotel and luxury. Breakfast excelent, We stayed at apartment no 17, the night we stayed we saw northen light for almost 30minutes, around our apartment, since its designed well we can just around the hotel and see all northen light, it was really magical! Thats makes worth for what i paid for!
Loved the room with a view, very quiet I know we visited in the off season. The food in the restaurant was good, but we have had better. Excellent friendly staff
Beautiful rooms, seating area with tv, great location
I was allergic to the sheets.
Food excellent Room good size with flat screen TV Comfort bed very comfortable
That the rooms were not made up if you were staying more than 1 night
Confortable, spacious and clean room Good breakfast and dinner Hot water pools
New hotel, yet to be completed Isolated location
We visited Hotel Grimsborgir for two nights to enjoy life, be lazy and refill our batteries. When we came back we found that we had succeded perfectly. Staff is friendly, helpful and polite, rooms are excellant and food is first class. We will for sure return there next time we need to settle down and rest for few days.
Location and food were very good. Rooms were clean but tiny and difficult to get to a comfortable temperature. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Terrible piano player on a terrible piano at dinner. No place to in pack and no place to put our luggage - all we had was two backpacks and two carry-ons. SMALL. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx- xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxc
The hotel is located very conveniently, near a few bigger natural highlights, the city of Selfoss, and close enough to highways, while still being secluded and peaceful. The atmosphere is very natural and calm, the hotel room and facilities are comfortable and luxurious, the owners are very kind and warm people making us feel completely trusted and welcome.
There is no a la carte menu for the evening dinners, they do offer a buffet instead. We solved this by going out for dinner elsewhere, no problem to find restaurants nearby.
Rooms were attractive and well furnished.
Needs landscaping and the dining room is too open and noisy, especially at breakfast which includes large TV playing cartoons. A space for children is a good idea but it dominates the environment. The location is central but not near any good restaurants. Their restaurant serves an evening buffet which is ok but too much/too expensive for several nights
Compared to other hotels on Iceland, this was probably the one with the best amenities (speaking basics such as tissues in the rooms..), the rooms are nicely decorated..with Ikea. Comfy beds.
Weird atmosphere throughout. I entered the room and could name half of the furniture by name...hello Hemnes, Pax and Lack! This so-called luxury hotel is tasteful designed but everything, including the sheets, is from a well known Swedish furniture discounter...I felt like back in my student apartment. Ikea stickers and bar codes still on a few items... Owner showed us our room but seemed to be in a rush, that came across slightly rude. We had a third bed in our room which made the space very small. Huge loud fridge instead of minibar. Breakfast was ok but nothing special, poor bread and cheese selection (the usual slices of pressed cheese as in any other Icelandic hotel). Prosecco bottle was kept close, decoration or an actual offer...? The hotel is pretty new but the chairs in the restaurant already show wear and tear...Ikea is just not made for commercial purposes...I wonder how fast this place will look run down. Absolutely overpriced!
Spacious room. Lovely views. Good selection of vegetarian options at the buffet on our first evening. Friendly staff.
On the second evening, there was not a great choice for vegetarians.
Kids loved filling up the hot tub. Piano player was delightful at dinner. Buffet was a nice change for us and very good.
Large enough rooms, hot tubs for most everyone, best breakfast on the trip. Close to gold circle.
Very expensive, rooms on one side look out to parking lot. Only dinner option was buffet.
The landscape is amazing. You can hardly believe you are in such amazing place. It is a silent and relaxing place. Bath and bedlinen have very good quality. The kitchen uses insumes of the region, everything is fresh and they have lots of healthy dishes. Staff is very nice.
They don't have interphones. If you need to contact the reception you have to leave your chalet and walk to the reception. Food is very good indeed, but they don't have many variation between one day and another. I also missed a blackout curtain. During the summer, there is sunshine 24 hours and sometimes is not easy for a turist organize body rhythm.
Great location for exploring the south of Island. Very good buffet and breakfast. Offered us rooms although we arrived early in the morning.
