Location was good. Not too fad from petrol station and supermarket. Friendly staff. Very well organized arrangement.
In the winter apartment may have students staying. They can be a little noisy until curfew time. They also did not clean up after themselves after using the kitchen.
the location is great, the stuff is helpfully and welcoming and being able to use the kitchen was great.
problems with the wifi, solved eventually but wasn't perfect.
The view and breakfast were delightful. The location was perfect.
The stairs and absence of elevator made getting luggage up and down difficult (although in large part that was because I'm in a cast for a foot fracture).
Firstly, all guests are requested us to put off the shoes because the owner think all of our shoes are dirty. It is very impolite. Besides, the bathroom is very small. I am only 156cm but I also find difficulty in using the small bathroom. The sink is extremely small and the floor must get wet when I wash my fsce. Wifi connection is very poor. Actually I stayed for 4 nights and never connected to wifi.
We had a nice 2 bedroom apartment on 1st floor with big kitchen. It was like real house for rent. Nice to spend a long term vacation. Everything was clean , beds are comfortable.
Clean, good location, comfortable beds, friendly staff
The sink in the bathroom we used was positioned strangely under a Cabinet so every time you wanted to brush your teeth or wash your face you would have to duck your head under the cabinet and sometimes it was hard to aim for the sink.
Trevlig personal, bra läge, prisvärt.
Decent sized room
Staff seemed irritated if you had questions about anything. Information about the Guest House is scattered over what seems like endless signs. Difficult to access by car due to one way streets. Uncomfortable beds compared to guest houses and hostels in Iceland. Was given 200kr change in 11 coins instead of reasonable denominations. Restrictions on when you are allowed access to kitchen. Additional charge for breakfast. Poor value for money.
Tora and her husband were so friendly to guests and interested in making sure their stay was pleasant.
Sinks too small
This wonderful little place has everything, great hosts, comfy rooms, spotless kitchen and right by town. Great value for money!
Great bed and kitchen facilities and room and view and clean and quiet
Lovely and clean
a real jewel with such an hospitable atmosphere . The landlord is a real lady
Everything, Especially the location and the great view from the breakfast room. Free coffee ,anytime of day. Clean and comfortable room. Akureyri and places to see from this base. Very interesting with social people from all over the world.
Only one small point for other travellers, no tv in my room but there is one in the breakfast room. I didn' t need it,.
The location was just a couple of blocks from town. The facility was clean and quaint.
There wasn't anyone on location - check-in involved ringing a door and hoping someone would answer. They didn't have our reservation for some reason so we ended up waiting 20+ minutes before someone arrived (they apologized repeatedly for the mistake). I would recommend against this place if you do not have a cell phone.
Thora was incredibly helpful and went out of her way to make sure our needs were met. Breakfast is amazing, with pancakes and homemade (I think) pastries.
The communal kitchen and dining room were excellent with everything we needed. The view from the hotel was great.
Excellent breakfasts ... easy walk into town. Clean rooms, comfortable beds. Friendly staff.
We were on the third floor. Stairs were a problem for us, but would not likely be a problem for someone younger.
It is located in a small slope and commands a good view of the city. The room is spacious and clean. There is a small balcony on each floor and was from there I saw the beautiful northern light. Information on local tour and dining are provided. The owner is friendly and helpful. her husband is a driver and you can contact her for transportation and local tour.
The owner is not living in the building and it is best to inform her your time of arrival for easy check in.
Facilities were good, with access to the kitchen and nice dining area. Very close to downtown Akureyri. The staff seems serious about keeping things quiet and making sure guests have consideration for each other.
The fact that it was within walking distance of the whole downtown area is great. We also saw a picture of it in the Akureyri Museum as a prime example of concrete architecture. That was pretty neat.
