Location is super nice, close to shopping street yet very quiet at night. Staff is very helpful. Breakfast is excellent.
Kind personel Close to downtown Nice breakfast Clean and good facilities
The internet connection was not quite good The hotel staff is not available all the time
I travelled with my friend and we had booked two single rooms with shared bathroom. The owner offered to us a really nice apartment with kitchen and bathroom for the same price. He was really nice and helpful.
No problems to arrive late in the evening and depart early in the morning :)
Breakfast was simple but good, fresh baked bread every day. The location was within minutes of the main shopping road. The kitchen/Dining room was available for personal use 24/7.
The matrass was old and not so comfortable. No personal welcome when we arrived, not one staff member was at the guesthouse when we arrived, our room-key was laying at the kitchen with some writen instructions on a note.
location, breakfast, comfortable bed, warm heating, warm water, wifi
no laundry facility
Great location, no nonsense unobtrusive staff, brilliant value for money - I'll be back!
Wireless is poor but hey you can't have everything...
Great location, friendly staff, would highly recommend.
Perfect location, excellent breakfast and super comfortable room.
Everything was good.
Absolutely friendly and helpful staffs. Nice kitchen with good breakfast. Wonderful location, within 5 mins to the Church and 10 mins to the high street. All the tour companyies can pick you up right in front of the hostel.
The only thing I wasn't quite satisfied with was the cleaning situation. We lived there for a couple of days and for the first two days I could easily smell the smell from the toilet. Besides we found out that the sink in our room was not clean enough (with dirt) as well. All in all it was a good stay in the guesthouse Aurora.
- Convenient Location - Free Wi-fi and reception is good - Tasty home made bread though breakfast pretty standard. - Complimentary laundry service
No one manning the premise most of the time though owner do provide alternate means like bell/phone to reach him
Liked the buffet breakfast and coffee. Laid back staff (when you saw them!) Easy location to get anywhere
good location, not too expensive, breakfast included
room was smaller than I expected
Good breakfast, good location
The doors are incredibly loud and due to human nature as soon as one person is awake they assume everyone else is and slam their doors waking everyone else up. If you wish to have an early night or a lie in then do not stay here. Rooms were too hot, heating was on full blast and you couldn't change it, so became uncomfortable in the night.
4 days. Great location for wandering about the city. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was super to start your day. I was travelling by myself so it fitted the bill perfectly. Room didn't have an en suite, but the facilities were just a few steps across the hall with everything you needed. I would definitely stay there again.
Good location, clean and good facilities, friendly and helpful staff,
Our room was in the block next to the main building, and the wifi was really weak and sometimes didnt work at all...
Location is good, near to the well known big church.. I choose it seeing good review but my experience was not good.. Bathroom was not good..
breakfast was not so good.. bathroom was shared by 5 people which was very bad.. I had to wait which I didn't like..
Great breakfast. Helpful owner.
I stayed at Aurora Guesthouse for over a week and I must say it is one of the best guesthouses I have stayed in. Very central (right next to the beautiful Hallgrimskirkja church), yet in a lovely quiet area. Only a couple of minutes walk to the city centre. The staff were wonderful - very helpful and kind. Wonderful breakfast in the morning - delicious bread (baked in the oven) in the morning, lovely selection of jams, cheese, cereals, ham, eggs and cheese - more than enough to cater for a range of different tastes. Room was excellent - lovely and warm, cleaned regularly whilst I was there. For what you get, the price represents excellent value for money and I think you would be hard-pushed to get better in Reykjavik for what they charge per night. Will definitely stay there again. Highly recommend to others.
Nothing - I shall be going back.
breakfast already at 7 (until 10). clean
you get wet feet on the toilet when someone was taking a shower before.
Very friendly staff, very clean and neat, nice breakfast even for unusual times of the day available, clean kitchen
Neighbouring rooms a bit too good to hear...
even early starters (for catching a flight) can have a breakfast; cooking facilities are great & clean; nice place to eat; very good: well working hairdryers; a WiFi which properly works...
Excellent location, facilities were exactly as described. We stayed for five nights and Siggy the owner was friendly and helpful. No complaints we would definitely stay again.
1. Location 2. Breakfast 3. Interner Wifi
1. The room is a bit too small for 4 person.
Breakfast, easy-going atmosphere, location.
Inadequate information about facilities.
