+nice hearty breakfast +kind and helpful staff +no worries about a parking place +very good value for money +quiet enough to sleep with an open window
-sulfuric smell in hot water (but this is a problem of Reykjavik in general) -bathroom a bit cramped, also the water leaked from the shower to the bathroom floor more than slightly -you need to walk a bit or take a bus to the city center where the places a tourist would usually want to see are
The guest house is about 20 minutes walk into town. It's clean and tidy and the breakfast is good. The staff are helpful.
From the outside the guest house looks like an office block but once inside it has what you need.
The bed was really comfy and I could control the heating system by my self in my room so it was warm enough for me :) Staffs are okay and the breakfast was good.
It was a bit far from central city BUT I didn't really care as the pick up and drop off system was wknderful in Iceland. I hardly spend time with walking outside during my holiday. So I was happy to walk back home from the center for 20-30min (depends on starting point) in my last day :)
The lady running it was very helpful and we had a great time. And her advice on northern lights was fantastic and we got to see them on the first night; where as they weren't seen the days before or the rest of the time we were there :) thank you! We will be back :)
Everything was great
This guesthouse us 20mins walk from the bus station and centre, with the largest outdoor pool close by and a shop just opposite for supplies. There is free WiFi which worked in our room, a large selection for breakfast, lots of info and the room had everything you need, including a hairdryer and ample heating with a great view. We were not picked up for our day tour and the owner kindly phone the travel company and arranged for us to go on it the next day and swap to the blue lagoon that day. She really saved us, sending photocopies of our receipts etc so we can't recommend this place enough. Easy to find, secure, also 1st place you get dropped off at on the day tours!
Nothing. Highly recommended.
Breakfast was nice.
We stayed only one night at this hotel before we went to the ring road. The room was noisy as it was located above a main road, even if I asked for a quiet room when I booked the guesthouse.
I like this guesthouse a lot! *Staff is always nice and ready to help with anything - early check out, booking trips, booking fly bus... * Good bus conection * Breakfast included :-)
Spotlessly clean, comfortable, great value for money, very helpful staff and manager, fast and free Wi-Fi plus decent breakfast options
Slightly far out from downtown centre of Reykjavik but it is easy to get a bus in if required
Our room was quite cold on october. There "wind" a bit throw the window.
We liked the quality/price ratio. perfect for an overnight stay.
perhaps the slight smell of sulphur in hot water, but that´s all over Iceland :)
Excellent breakfast & host
Funny smell in the shower
Great value for money! Great position near the sea. Hired a car this time, so appreciated the free car park. I am really fond of both rejkyavik and this guesthouse and will return
I was in room 412... One of the beds was very squeaky... Have been many times before... So know this is a one off!
-Staff was very helpful & friendly -Clean rooms and very quiet -Parking (plenty of free parking spots) -free internet (it worked fine in our room)
Helpful staff Good wifi Good breakfast
Common tea/coffee machine was placed just outside our door, so every time someone stopped for a drink we could hear everything. Lift/elevator very old.
We arrived very early (7 am) to our hotel after a long night of travel. Our room was not ready for us, but the guesthouse manager offered us breakfast and a place to store our luggage until our room was ready later that morning. The staff were kind and helpful. Nights were quiet and peaceful .
The guesthouse is on the 3rd and 4th floors, of the building, there are no signs posted on the door telling you this. We needed to ask for help when arriving to find the guesthouse office.
Accommodated early check-in. Helpful in booking tours and recommending activities and restaurants. Cheerfully helped fix a Flybus problem at 5 AM on departure day. Made early breakfast for us to carry on flight. I would stay here again and highly recommend this hotel. Wifi worked well.
Staff were friendly. Ensuite Rooms were basic but clean. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Good wifi reception. Easy parking in front of the hotel. Near to the pool. Excellent for a stopover when using Icelandair to visit the States. Would definitely consider again.
It has an elevator. We learned during our stay that many places don't!! Breakfast was great, with lots of choices. As complete Iceland newbies, we found everything a bit strange, but all part of the adventure. The rooms are above, and run by a travel agent/tour guide company.
Also, being newbies, we found that "double room" in Iceland means two single beds pushed together, with the chance of getting stuck in the crack! Again, all part of the adventure!
If you want to know something, the kindly staff show you anything. I like the friendly atmosphere of the hotel :D
the breakfast is so simple.(but delicious!)
Breakfast is included and staff were nice when present
Location is poor and the place is a little dated
Friendliness of staff. They went overboard to help. Quite impressive!
A little bit of a walk to the city.
Nice breakfast and friendly staff.
Came in way past check in,Staff was still there waiting for me , gave me all info that i needed also wifi info ,offered to help me with my luggage to take to my room as i had 2 big suitcases and a carry on.
Before booking Should let you know that they are on the 3rd floor and that there is no one downstairs to help you up to the 3rd floor with you luggage once you get off the bus .There was no shampoo or conditioner .
Spacious room Cleanliness
Location (quite outside city)
I stayed for 6 nights (incl. buffet breakfasts) at this guest house. The room next door was quite noisy. Besides, I took flight departure from Iceland at 7:40am, so I need to take the pick-up bus on 4:30am. The guest house manager promised me to prepare the breakfast for me and asked me to pick up from the refrigerator. However, I found that she only prepared the breakfast for the couple named "Scott" in early morning and forgot my breakfast. I supposed the guest house manager will prepare breakfast to me, so I did not buy anything. Hence, I was hungry & starving in the morning. After check in, I need to buy the expensive food at airport. I was very unhappy. I also paid the same room rate as Scott but why only Scott has the breakfast for early check out. The location of guest house is far away from the center.
