Score from 330 reviews Good
This hotel is on the main shopping street, Laugavegur. All rooms include free wired internet, tea/coffee facilities and a minibar. Reykjavik Art Museum is a 5 minute walk away.
Score from 100 reviews Good
I appreciated the handiness of the reasonably furnished kitchenette (grocery store a 10 min walk)and the deluxe single was a good hStaff helpful and pleasant. Included breakfast was excellent-particularly the oatmeal and the skyr. Pleasant walk into town which had pretty views of the harbour, an interesting museum and elf stones.
TV was limited and wifi good for surfing only. Linens were threadbare with some holes. Location not inconvenient, but unlovely, as many of these aparthotels are (generally located in stripmalls).
Cleanliness, breakfast, good beds, friendly staff, and nice size rooms.
pillows were extremely thin.
Good Breakfast Silent Rooms Good Wifi
a bit overpriced
From the moment we arrived, until we left 5 days later, we were extremely happy here. The reception staff, particularly Jon, were friendly, efficient, helpful and knowledgable. Our room had the most amazing view, well worth paying a little extra. There was good storage space and a very comfortable bed. The heating was amazing and warmed the room up very quickly. Being very fond of gadgets, we were pleased with the number of electic sockets in sensible places. We enjoyed the breakfasts which had a good selection of food, including fresh fruit. The free car park was very useful, as was the delicious bakery around the corner.
Poor quality toiletries, but not a problem as we had read previous reviews and brought our own.
Hotel has a good standard. Nothing fancy, but solid, quiet, and clean all round. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful whatever the time of day. Located in a mixed suburb area, it is very easily reached by car and makes for a perfect stopover when travelling around Iceland or doing business in Reykjavik.
Plenty of space. Basic kitchen. Two comfortable chairs. Large bathroom with a bath. Breakfast in the basement. Free parking. Easy to find.
The view wasn't great, but it is on the dual carriageway near an industrial estate.
The value is outstanding. It is close enough to the city that the drive is only a few minutes. The breakfast buffet included in the price was excellent, and really makes this a great choice for a family.
Helpful staff, good food range at breakfast, inexpensive for ensuite room in Reykjavik area, direct easy dropoff/pickup by Flybus from airport, bus into town <5 minutes walk, several restaurants nearby
Very lovely Hotel, With good food! and nice people!! :)
all staff is great size of rooms cleanliness bus stop nearby
just missing scrambled eggs in morning
Clean and comfortable
Everything was excellent - Free parking - Free - WIFI - Free - Breakfast - Free - Large room with everything you want - will defo stay again
Smelly room and it is certainly expensive for the price!
Liked the location. We could zip in and out of Reykjavik as well as avoid it when we were doing side trips. Free parking was always available. The town was of Hafnarfjodur was quiet and pleasant.
The linen needs to be refreshed.
We had a triple bed room and it was a very nice size, especially by European standards. Breakfast was very good.
We were on the first floor and there was a little bit of road noise.
Great location, very friendly staff, and super breakfast!
We were upgraded to a Family Studio Apartment for free as they were all out of the Double Superior room that I had booked. Enough sleeping room for 6+ and 2 bathrooms just for my mom and I! The breakfast buffet was very good with lots of options (a lot more than at any other accommodation we stayed at). We did have trouble finding the hotel but that was more due to poor directions from Google. However thanks to a local couple who drove with us to find the hotel, we managed to get to Hotel Hafnarfjordur ok. All in all, the hotel was clean, staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. I wouldn't necessarily stay here again due to the price (we only stayed for one night and ended up not using the cooking facilities in the room...the main reason why I booked at this hotel), but if you wanted a place to stay for a few nights and wanted to cook your own meals to save a bit of money, then I would highly recommend this hotel.
A bit expensive. It would be nice if the curtains had panels on the sides to block the light out completely, but this comment isn't singled out to just this hotel.
To leave in the morning!
Our room was in a seperate hous a few minutes walk from the hotel. It smelled like fish and it was very hot in the room and we couldn`t open the window. There are strange night clubs with strange people around the hotel. We couldn`t sleep because they drove with their cars around circle all night. We went to the reception to ask for a room in the main building but with no luck. He called the police because of the loud cars and people but nothing happend. The breakfast was very bad. Don`t stay here or insist on a room in the main building!
Staff was friendly and very helpful. Hotel was close to the airport.
Basic toiletries were not included and we were a bit put off about being put in a room outside the main hotel.
The staff is excellent and very helpful and friendly!!
Nothing really bad. It is a bit far from the city, but there is a bus stop 30 meters from the hotel
Good hotel, but too noisy surroundings The hotel was very good. Our room was not in the main hotel , but the new building a little behind the hotel on the right had side. The room was very well kept, and had an ensuite and a common kitchen. I think some rooms have its own kitchen as well. The room was cleaned and new towels were provided everyday. The bed and pillows were quite comfortable. Breakfast was included as part of the room rent and this was a very decent continental breakfast consisting of different type of breads, cereals, porridge, ham, salami, cheese, tomatoes, cucumber, variety of fuits, juice and coffee. The hotel staff are friendly. The receptionist helped us out everyday morning in entering the correct address in navigation for our destinations and recommended good tours/eat outs as well. The hotel offers buffett meat selection lunch and buffett sea food dinner. We did not try this. But there are couple of good restaurants in Hafnarfjordur at 10 misn walking distance. We had our dinner one night at Tilveran restaurant and it had the best "lobster soup".
Only downside of accommodation was that the hotel is on the main road and Icelanders party until 4am on summer. There is a small gaming centre near the hotel and on the first night people started making noice on the road outisde at 2am and this continued all the way up until 4am. We were in deep sleep and the noise was too loud, we thought someone was slamming on the door. This was very annoying. On the second night, someone was driving a noisy car up and down for 15 mins at midnight. I was cursing myself then to have take this accommodation. Other han this, the hotel was really comfortable.
The front desk staff could have been more friendly and helpful.
Modern IKEA style. Kettle in room and microwave. Could walk into town for restaurants. Supermarket close by. Breakfast more than adequate fresh and quickly replenished but same every day. Would need hire car for convenience but bus stops outside hotel
Noisy on Saturday night only with locals cars and music from adjacent pub
Simple but good hotel with everything you need for staying 1-2 nights. Very good breakfast.
