|Beautifully located in Adaldalur Valley, this homestay offers free WiFi access, a TV lounge and a fully equipped shared kitchen. Staff can arrange horse riding, whale watching and other activities.|
My review is not for the guest house but for the Cape hotel, because when I arrived, i was upgraded. The guest house is a hundred meters away and the breakfast is at the hotel. The hotel is 5 minutes walking distance from the harbour when boats leave for whale watching. The staff was very kind, the hotel clean and the room very big. The breakfast was good. Nothing to complain about.
The staff at the Cape hotel (where reception is) were very helpful and gave many great recommendations with thorough instructions. The room was comfortable with a sink in the room. I really liked the sitting room with tea and coffee available. The breakfast (at the cape hotel) was very good with a wide selection of options. I really appreciated that the staff held our luggage while we went whale watching.
The reception was a block away, however, was fairly easy to find. The breakfast was also at reception. All the bathrooms were down stairs.
Location was good and easy walk to town.
Building was a bit dated and needed some upkeep. The end table was unusable and lighting was weak. We borrowed a lamp from the sitting room. Advertised parking but it was basically find your own on the street.
Welcoming host, lot of space in the living room, good breakfast in the nearby Hotel, cosy room
Dirty staircase (floor), maybe some guests went in with their shoes on
When our family of four arrived, the staff thought we would be too crowded in the small room we had booked and offered us an apartment for a good price. They were helpful and friendly, and even stopped by to warn us that the grocery store was closing at 7 pm! They also went out of their way to assist us in locating seals. In addition, they took time to share information about local customs. Wonderful!
While the apartment was spacious and comfortable, the kitchen lacked cooking supplies (pots, pans, etc.), but the staff found us what we needed to get by.
Location. The sweater on the tree out front! Really, a sweater hand knitted to the tree trunk. Awesome.
Not enough attention to detail: like not having reading lamps, just an overhead. An end table had a slatted top that things fell through, so it wasn't handy for a traveller looking for a place to set something.
The staff were very helpful and the dining area come library was quite special
