Score from 57 reviews Excellent
Plase was clean, on a nice lava field and convenient to explore the lake surroundings. I advise to take plenty of time for the Myvatn area, as it is beautiful.
The room is super tiny, we couldn't even fit two bags in it. One had to be left outside the door...
Breakfast is cereals and milk. We informed the owner with 5 months in advance we would arrive late. The day of the arrival he did not pick up the phone and eventually turned off the phone. There were people making noises during the night but nobody cared to stop them. The toilets are not as clean as they should.
Location Closeness to the Barbardunga Volcano
No wifi available on the rooms, only on the breakfast room Excesive price
While most reviews critisize the indeed poorly looking hostel, the rooms with private bathroom are small but nice. Breakfast is good and offers quite some choice
The rooms are small and the bathroom may cause instant panic to claustrophobics
Small basic cabins Clean and new Access to breakfast room with free coffee and WiFi
Set below lava field, no view of the lake
Excellent breakfast, friendly staff
room a bit small
We loved the breakfast, very tasty and filling. The room was cozy, but it was really all that we needed.
The room was a bit small, but comfortable, warm and all that we needed.
Situation of the hotel Very clean Amazing breakfast
private bathroom good breakfast choice
obscured window panes in the front rooms allowed no view out at all Staff was not overly helpful small breakfast room
Very friendly staff, nice room, We certainely will come again!
View, central location to Lake Myvatn area,
Small room, small bathroom. No wifi in unit. $$$ This was the most crowded property we had stayed at in Iceland.
Good location for exploring Myvatn, room was clean, staff were helpful, breakfast was plentiful and with good variety
The bed and breakfast cabins have very thin walls, and you can't access the wifi in the bedrooms. Quite a high price for the standard of accomodation, even by Icelandic standards.
There is outside sitting which over looks a lava field.
mayflies not their fault.
good location close to Myvatn shutters on windows
basic facilities for huge price offhand at reception, but warm breakfast lady
Nice location if coming from north. Clean room. Staff was kind. Breakfast was good, either.
There were so many bugs around the lake. That was not their fault, though...
car at close hand serving as a closet
rooms too small and frail for comfort. price not comesurate with amenities.
Comfortable, big beds with nice clean shower and excellent shutters, good breakfast.
Rather expensive, small room with only beds, no table and chairs. Would excpect WiFi for the price.
Great location and setting. Excellent shutters to help with sleeping.
The room was a bit small. Everything around Lake Mervatn is too ecpensive.
It was clean .
No cutlery in the shared kitchen.
Breakfast is enough with geysir bread and fish
Very expensive for this small room but as normal rate for myvatn
Very good pancakes for breakfast
Nice camping with some bungalow where we stay, the room was clean and confortable with a clean bathroom! Great dining room with kitchen! Breakfast was very good and with a lot of choice...
We were very lucky, we had a room at this guesthouse and ended up having the whole house to ourselves, no other guests, nice and clean house.
We booked accommodation with shared bathroom but when arrived decided to upgrade to a private bathroom for 2000 ISK more. With this we got a 1/4 of a cabin. Basic accommodation, nothing fancy but enough to have a good night's rest. Beds were comfortable. Best blackout blinds we encountered in Iceland (good for midnight sun). Clean. Good breakfast with fruits, buns, meats, cereals, yoghurts and salmon.
Private cabins have no view over the lake (though flies would have prevented enjoying the view anyway). Price of the accommodation is steep, but that seems to be the problem in the entire Myvatn area.
It was fantastic to overlook the lava field. Our room was immaculate and very comfy. They even had shutters for the "midnight sun" because it never got dark.
everything was great.
