Staff were friendly and helpful Bed was comfortable and room was spacious Breakfast was okay
Our room was very hot and stuffy Hotel decor had seen better days - rather dark paneling everywhere in the lobby and breakfast room.
Central location, everything in the city could be easily reached on foot. The hotel has an older style, that I liked, but some would not.
The bathroom was on the small side and was generally not in the best shape.
having no food available on a Sunday seems weak
Don't be put off by the gloomy lobby - the rooms are actually very nice. Friendly accommodating staff too. Good location if you have to catch an early bus from the main bus terminal (SBI?).
Nothing - it was all good.
The staff was wonderful! Restaurant was delicious!
Needed new fabric on sofa; very worn out. Old tv in living room that didn't work easily with the remote. Few channels.
This is a very individual hotel which is managed with care and attention. Spotlessly clean, well-located.
Our room was one of most spacious accommodations we had during our holiday throughout Iceland. The hotel was quiet, located close enough to the main shopping and tourist areas of Reykjavik, but far enough away from the cafes and bars. The staff was incredibly helpful and gracious, and we enjoyed our breakfast each morning, which had enough variety to make it interesting.
The hotel was just a short walk from restaurants and bars.
Great friendly and helpful staff in the hotel....just like all Icelandic people we met. Our Junior Suite Room on top floor had great view over the city. Location is just enough away from traffic and city centre weekend entertainment noise but close enough to stroll to main shopping areas, City Pond, Hallgrimskirk etc. Anyway, the walking is necessary to work off the superb food at The Gallery Restaurant! Car parking on site. British Embassy 50m away in case of crisis (mornings only though!). We will return here without any doubt.
Bathroom was a bit small but with a superb shower. Should have asked for a room with a bath. Our fault not the hotel. Our friends bathroom was excellent but they had no City view. Our fault nohe hotel.
Very clean, quiet, good location. Excellent bar area.
Breakfast was a bit limited.
Staff people very helpful. Sigrun (manager) returned a pre-paid night because there was a change in dates and they had to accomodate us in an apt close by, free of charge.
Very traditional hotel with good facilities and friendly, helpful staff.
Would have loved a bathtub!
Polite and friendly staff who were keen to assist with every request. Lovely homely feel to hotel Great art all around hotel Efficient wifi Warm and cosy Christmas gift/free Christmas drink! Rooms sufficient size - no complaints there
Crisps on the tea/coffee tray which we thought were complimentary (instead of biscuits) were actually about £2.50 per packet - a little sneaky:-(, (but we were not charged for them after mentioning this).
Nice location to visit city.
Close to downtown, Bigger rooms, suites are spacious
A bit older of a hotel so if you are looking for something modern you might want to find somewhere else to stay.
Helpfulness of the staff. Location
Location was excellent within 10 minutes to all central areas of key interest. Staff very hospitable and knowledgable.
Price?...but then everywhere in Iceland is expensive.
Hotel staff, location
Spotty wi-fi -- lots of drops and re-starts.
Great Staff and very helpful assistance with tours, and dining reservations. Convenient location and reasonably priced.
friendliness of staff location, convenience restaurant art everywhere small size
wished we'd had a bathtub
lovely décor & restaurant
bit noisy as above kitchen area
Gallery Restaurant, one of the best in Reykavik. The hotel staff are some of the best service orientated in the world.Nothing was too much trouble.
The staff were always friendly and helpful. The rooms were a nice size and were warm and clean. The bar had a nice relaxed atmosphere.
Only a minor thing but the hotel was only a 5 min walk away from the centre and there are hotels a bit more central if that is what you are after.
Quiet hotel situated in a residential street just minutes from the main tourist areas. Clean bathroom. Good buffet breakfast. Free and reliable wifi.
Restaurant food was nice, but overpriced.
Wonderful staff, thanks to Siggi and Sigrun they really made me feel welcome. They made great restaurant suggestions and assisted with tour recommendations, great staff great hotel
Very clean hotel room just a little dated think 1970
