Good location. Good size room. Table, chairs, sink and hairdryer in the room.
As there is no staff, they can't keep your luggage and you have to pay for storage.
The hostel is clean and quiet. I love those paintings on the wall. Highly recommend!
B47 is located in a pretty good location, only a block from the big church. It's easy to walk to anywhere in town from there. The bathrooms were very clean and often vacant. Bedrooms were also very clean and spacious, which was great for a solo traveler.
I did find a syringe in the shower one day which was alarming. It was left behind by someone. It looked like it was for medical use, not recreational drugs, but who knows.
CLEAN AND QUIET.
I was amazed how clean the place was and how warm
Wifi did not stretch to all bedrooms. This is acceptable to me as not expected. But something for improvement
Location was excellent. 2 mins from main shopping street. Extremely clean & quiet. Excellent wifi. Plentiful, free parking.
15 mins walk from centre Close to church area Clean Really cheap Had everything I needed
No staff so felt a little unsure of what I would have done if there were problems (which I didn't encounter) I only used the kitchen to make tea , but it didn't have much space if anyone actually wanted to cook a meal.
The funky decoration is great, got a chance to see them painting the doorways. Great entertainment/kitchen area. Rooms were super clean, bathrooms as well.
Just wish there was a staff member around, incase you did have trouble or had questions. Other than that, great experience, thank you.
Very clean, nicely furnished, walls painted with beautiful designs. Common areas make you feel very comfortable (dining area, living room). Excellent wifi and free use of computers.
-clean -value to money -good facilities -good location
-wifi network is unable to connect in my room but it is strong in other place
Very clean, good amenities , excellent value, 3 mibs from main shopping street. Excellent hostel at a very good price.
nice ambience. next to a swimming pool. intelligent set up. good spacing guests in the shared rooms.
institutional feel ca only be covered so much. only a half kitchen. (no stove)
nice touch at adding decor and ambience. I loved that it was next door to the swimming pool. they divided guests amongst rooms well: I never stayed with more than three people no matter what room I was in (bunks)
it used to be a hospital. . . no stove.
good location downtown; nice common room with cosy atmosphere; shared bathrooms offer a lot of privacy
no cooking facilities, just microwave, toaster and water boiler; no reception; bathrooms might be too few when the hostel is fully booked
Lovely and cosy place to stay and it gave us a feeling of home. The staff at the cafe is really sweet. Everything is self service here which I find is quite a smart idea. And we all loved the creative and nice paintings at almost every corner of the hostel.
The only thing not self service is the laundry service and unfortunately that was what we desperately needed on the night we stayed. We arrived in the evening and would really like to do our laundry (bad weather and we were all wet) so we could go out on clean coats again the next day, only to realize that we could not do it ourselves and cleaner lady was not there anymore. And the laundry service is not free.
No staff self service
Free parking Clean and many shower rooms
There are no stoves in the kitchen
It was very good athmosphere there and the place was very relaxing after long trips around Iceland. I recomend this hostel to everyone. It was better then in 3 star hotels i've been in the past...
Location, cleanliness, atmosphere
- good wifi, both in-room and common areas, despite a lot of reviews saying otherwise. - clean - VERY quiet (eerily quiet? a lot of rooms but only a handful of other guests in my 9 days there) - good duvet bedding - literally a 2 minute walk to the main shopping street. Grocery store is just a few minutes further.
- No one hangs out in the so-called common areas. There's a small, comfy lounge with flat-screen and stereo but I sat there and was harassed by "security." It's unwelcoming. You're basically encouraged to stay in your room. - There's a full kitchen and dining room area meant to be a semi-cafe, but it's never been open. You're not allowed to use that kitchen nor sit at the array of tables. Hostel guests are made to use a tiny half-kitchen (fridge, sink and microwave) and one cheap table by the dorms. Another guest and I sat quietly at the dining room tables one afternoon to use our laptops, and the next day staff had closed the whole area off completely.
The hostel had a very good location and was very central located. The rooms were clean. There were also enouth badrooms available and also computer with internet and a TVs. The other people who lived there were very friendly and you could find very nice people there for doing activities. Except for the staff I can recommend the hostel.
There was very little staff there what is ok. But the hostel should make sure that the few people who work there are friendly. Especially the woman from the cafeteria should be replaced by a friendlier person and the cleaning women should learn english. It came to some misunderstandings because of that.
Large, roomy and very clean. Quiet and just a five minute walk from the centre. Self serving so no hassle but staff will turn up if you have an issue. The place would be perfect if not for the lack of cooking facilities.
Your cooking is limited, you need your own stove. You have a microwave for cooking and that's about it. Toaster, kettle, glasses, cups plates etc... are all there. Just nothing to actually cook with. That includes gas, pans and pots!
Everything's new and clean and big
No fire/gas for cooking
Perfect location, nice and quiet both inside and outside. 5 minute walk and you're in the heart of the restaurant/shopping street.
Bit of a institution feeling.
