4th Floor Hotel is on Reykjavík’s main street, Laugevegur. It offers modern accommodations with tea/coffee facilities, fridges and free Wi-Fi.
Score from 542 reviews Good
Being able to cook one's own food in the kitchen, since Reykjavik restaurants are expensive
No facilities for washing clothes.
Feels like home!
Kitchen needs more pots and pans for cooking. Pasta needs strainer!
good design and convenient
The system without any keys just codes is very convenient!
Very high quality and super clean Close to center and BSI bus station
Very poor WIFI
Location in relation to city centre is great. Also lovely swimming hall right next door, just ISK 600. Good bed. Quieter than expected.
The kitchenette really should have hobs/cooker!
Position, security. Comfort
Very Clean Good location Great value for the money Geothermal pool two doors down
location. clean environment
Wifi very weak. never saw any staff
This is a nice place, young and stylish hostel with painted walls. You do have much space and it's close to the city center.
What really is a negative point: There is no possibility to cook! You can bake something in the oven, but there's no plate to cook anything. I've never seen this before in a hostel.
Very comfy, clean and modern. Good base for Reykjavik and for day tours. Great stay.
Wifi is good in the common areas but slow in my room. The "kitchen" has no oven and no hob so apart from microwaving food you don't have many options. As there's no staff there needs to be local info on display eg supermarkets.
cheap, lockers for valuables, very clean, very good internet access, close to the city center
no staff, need a code to enter the hostel and to enter the room, no help in case of troubles except you call the owner (which of course is associated to some costs)
+ Free WiFi + Free use of computers and internet + Nice furnishing
No luggage room
price was way too high for value no receptionist My electronic room code stopped working when I was out for a shower, resulting in me needing to track down a cleaning lady to help me get back in my room.
No hassel freedom of arriving and departing thanks to the access code sent in advance with the confirmed booking. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Parking next to the door. Good value for money for independent travellers.
Heavy doors and thin walls meant a constant barrage of sounds louder than the normal hostel volumes.
Modern, close to centre, easy to use.
Lack of cooking facilities.
A lot of room in the bathrooms, spacious, clean. lockers available outside the bedrooms this way one can get late at night and dont botther others in his way in!
Did not have a bar in the hostel or nowhere around! But still, pretry good location!
Great location for walking into town and next to the swimmingpool.
Limited kitchen facilities.
5 persons in one room, then access code for the door in sted of a key was great. Bath, toilets and the room was nice and clean.
Very often the kitchen was a mess, I suppose some guest could not read...?? A stove or an oven would have been nice.
Staff is very very nice, yes, they don't have like a person sitting at the reception Iike all the other hostels. ( but some hostels, staff are talking to each other or playing with their phone anyways...) Here is more like a self services, I like it more freedom! Also, in Iceland, u usually get around signing up with a tour! Which means u really don't need that many "information" from anyone!!! It is Mostly tour!! Staff ( the owner ) is very nicer if she sees you need help, she will take initiative to help!L Very very kind!!( I had problem with the tour picked up, she helped me call the tour company, helped me to extend a day of staying even it was quite busy around weekend) - the area is perfect!!! Close to everything!!! East to go to downtown. 5 mins!!!! Or less!!! - the hostel itself is very very well decorated !!! Very artistic, band innovating. Clean!! (especially bathroom and shower room!!) I think everyone who stay there is keeping it really clean too!! :) - u are going to love it! The photos on their website is exactly the same as the hostel itself!! So.... It is not old pictures!!! -wifi in room is very fast!! ( it is a bit slow in common area tho) but in room is super fast!
Nothing. Except, maybe if it is possible to it a phone there so, guests can make local call. That would be nice!! ( although I am not sure if making local calls need to pay extra money or not... ) but if there is a phone there, it wil be more convenient for guest.
Clean, fun decor, very comfortable.
No reception! They are usually first point of contact for visitors -- questions, suggestions, advice, help. I would not stay there again for simple reason that there is no reception.
location on the baronstigur street; self check-in; price for a night
generally no dislikes
We traveled with teenagers. It was clean, centrally located, decorated with fun graphics, had a good kitchen facility for making our own snacks, good value for money. We would stay here again.
