Very good,
Score from 234 reviews
“The hotel was clean and well maintained. The hotel was on the whole quiet and relaxing and the room was spacious and comfortable. The free Wi-fi was also very handy, considering I was a business traveller. Furthermore, the staff were friendly and helpful and helped me to book day trip excursions and bus transfers to the airport.”

Excellent value during off-peak by booking through booking.com. Staff were helpful in all aspects of service: restaurant recommendations, city orientation, other suggestions (such as grocery shopping). Location was very good. Very near to old part of city (walkable in 15 minutes) yet quiet with adequate parking; or walk 1 block to the bus. Grocery store nearby for lunch supplies. Good breakfast included in price of room. Very quiet. Lovely wool duvets. I understand they are usually fully booked during high season, so book early to enjoy a stay here.

Hotel Bjork is simple and good. Rooms are spacious, clean, with a simple decoration; bathroom is clean, with basic toiletries (soap, shampoo and conditioner), hair dryer and a good shower. Breakfast is very good, with a good variety of food to choose from. Excellent value for money, strongly recommended. If there is anything I could point out as negative is the distance to the city centre. Probably about 15-25 minutes walking, but not an impossible walk. Hotels closer to the city centre might be more expensive and offer less or same.

The price. That is all, really. Our bathroom smelled like cigarettes, and they offered no solution or apologies. The tour company associated with the hotel (Reykjavik Excursions) was unprofessional. Arrangements for our return shuttle was mixed up by the reception staff.

The staff were fantastic. I really enjoyed the young guys running the desk. They were welcoming and have a great sense of humor! We ended up staying 4 nights at Hotel Bjork. 2 on our way into the country and 2 on our way out. For the price it cannot be beat. Yes it is a 10 min walk from the center of town. However, during the weekends you're away from the all night partying noise. But only a few minutes walk away incase you want to partake. Ask for a room with a view.... It will be fantastic, and to be on the 3rd floor. The streets lights wont shine into your room. Highly reccommend

Room was small, but when all you are doing is sleeping in the room, it was more than adequate. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Attached restaurant was on the expensive side, but the meals were fantastic. Hotel staff were very helpful. The location is not in the centre of downtown, but it was centrally located. A direct 20 minute walk downtown, 15 minutes to shopping centre, 10 minutes to seashore. We loved the walking in Reykjavik. We hope to return, and I would have no hesitation about returning to the Hotel Bjork. No complaints. We wanted an inexpensive room and we got one. Everything exceeded our expectations.

The hotel is in a great location-- a bit off the main drag, but an easy walk to the center of Reykjavik. The room was simple and clean-- just fine. The people at the front desk were very helpful. The free breakfast was fabulous-- a great way to start a busy day. I recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in Iceland.

We have to say! We were pleasantly surprised. This hotel has everything you need to make you trip/vacation comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Clean rooms and up-to date furniture etc. It takes you 5 minutes to walk to the downtown/city, so you are not in the middle of all the commotion and will get your good/silent night sleep. Not to mention the Restaurant that is attached to the hotel “Potturinn & Pannan” There you will find good variety to choose from, not to mention some good fish plates (since you are in Iceland).

The accommodations were very comfortable, clean, and inviting. Breakfast buffet was nice, with good breads and fresh vegetables, but the tuna fish was a poor offering for a fish representation

Clean, Warm, No noise, Friendly staff, coach pick up for excursions good value, excellent plentiful buffer breakfast, free wi fi internet - would have been good views of mountains from rooms at front of hotel but weather was poor during my stay Its just alittle bit out of town which is not a problem in good weather and probably an advatage as there was no noise but I went In Januaray and all the roads leading from Hotel to edge of town very icy, slippery and dangerous making a 10 minute walk into town a 30 minute walk often having to walk in the road as the pavements were too dnagerous.

Very clean simple single room. For 40 eur in Reykjavik , it was a good deal. A little out of the centre, but not far. The buffet breakfast was a little basic, no hot food at all, no eggs etc. But overall ok for the price paid, wouldnt want to pay any more though.

Extremely helpful staff - Ingvar from the reception helped to resolve even the problem with a missing passport. Good breakfast without unnecessary excesivness. Slightly away from the city center, but Reykjavik is too small for this to cause any problems.

I liked everything - excellent staff, very helpful and friendly, extremely clean room, with all the facilities (including tv, phone, kettle, hairdryer, heating, toiletries, ... ). The hotel is very well located in Reykjavik - just a few minutes walk from the city center (or, if you prefer taking a taxi, it costs only around 1500 isk to get there, in less than 3-4 minutes). The food at the in-house restaurant is magnificent and there are a lot of choices to choose from. A plus is the fact that the restaurant is open throughout the day (from 11:30 to 22:00 if I remember well, and you can go eat whenever you want - I.E. you are not restricted to specific time intervals). Another plus is the buffet- style breakfast.

“I travel a lot both on business and for pleasure. Most months I´m twice a month in Reykjavík and most of the time I stay at the Hilton or the Grand Hotel, which are both very nice hotels. But this time they were both fully booked so I decided to see what else was available. I found Rey apartment and I have to say, that I am not sure I will ever go back to my former choices of accommodations when visiting Reykjavík. Rey apartment has a beautiful, clean, modern studio apartment. Everything is newly restored with every luxury that I need. Even the smallest apartment which I stayed in had a sofa, small kitchen, nice bathroom and I must say the beds are amazing. And on top of that it had a large TV with hundreds of TVs channels and most of all, FREE INTERNET SURVICE!! Rey apartments are smack down town but still it was very easy to find parking spaces and most of all because it was so downtown that I hardly needed the car. The staff was very helpful and willing to assist and making changes like I needed to do. First class in every way!! B. Hilmars” Berglind, Reyðarfjörður |
