Score from 135 reviews Wonderful
Tiny bathroom, curtains that don't close, windows that don't open, TV with five channels and virtually unwatchable due to interference, no wardrobe space, and, most off putting, that another guest just walked in when the door was definitely locked. Be warned there is no secondary security on the doors!
Bathroom underfloor heating Modern Quiet Pick up for trips and airport
location, helpful and polite staff, nice design style
too expensive, breakfast buffet was very average, room was small for price
Location Very Helpful staff Comfortable hotel Good choice at breakfast
Some minor upgrading to rooms needed (eg television set pre-dated flatscreen tvs by a number of years!)
Access to downtown. Can walk to all great restaurants and museums.
Could not sleep well because of street noise. No wifi inside room.
Noisy...since windows had to be open, ...we could hear everyone downstairs including screams, buses etc.... No wifi in room. I had to go down. Very inconvenient.
Definitely the location. The Hotel itself is very nice and the breakfast was good with a decent choice. My room was a good size and at the back, so nice and quiet.
The breakfast room is too small for the number of rooms, especially as there were some groups staying in the hotel. The carpets in the hallways looked like they have never been cleaned.
Very central hotel near the harbour and shops. Handy for the many excursions which pick up at the Hotel. Clean and bright rooms. Good restaurant and a bistro. Helpful staff
I can't praise the staff at Hotel Centrum enough. I accidentally left one of my favourite shoes in the room and they not only looked for the shoe (extensively) but once they found it, took the time to email me several times and post it all the way to Australia. I am seriously in awe. Wonderful Icelandic hospitality.
NIce, clean hotel in a good central location.
Be very careful reading the small print when making a booking with this hotel. I lost all my money on a cancelled booking despite having been certain to have selected a cancellable option. I ended in a my-word-against-yours situation. I may have been mistaken, but what I did not like is that Hotel Reykjavik had no sympathy whatsoever, despite the fact that I was a regular customer. I will no longer use Hotel Reykjavik Centrum. There are many excellent hotels in Reykjavik. I recommend chosing another hotel.
Cosy, albeit cramped loft room.
Night manager a grumpy old man - not exactly what you need upon arrival. Morning staff young & clueless - had to wait for half an hour to have my bill sorted out, as hotel had charged it to another guest. Definitely not what you need upon departure. A hotel in this price range should not have outdated TV sets but flat screen TVs.
Really helpful and happy staff
Room was a bit hot
Great location and nice ambiance
Expensive and a bit noisy at night
the position is excellent, clean
rooms very little (the shower is minimal)
Location can't be beat, nice modern building.
Breakfast!!! Fighting for vacant table. A lot of guests/rooms for so small facilities
location, very nice athmosphere, not pretentious
check-out queues very long and slow moving....
The position and very pleasant helpful staff.
Poor lighting in bedroom, bulb over suitcase rack missing.Although staying for one week room not made up until 2pm or later. Frequently tea, creamer, bathroom accessories etc not replaced.
Location is very central, near nice restaurants and harbour. Breakfast was really nice too, with large selections of various types of food.
Lack of air conditioning is a definite drawback. If you are asthmatic or just don't like dry arctic cyclon blowing out of the ventilation 24/7 (impossible to regulate), you'd better book somewhere else. Also, I had have been overcharged - though the price on booking.com website have shown the breakfast was included, in fact it has not shown on hotel's system, so breakfast cost has been added on top, which was not a massive amount, but if you are not ready to cover extra costs, it can be a problem.
They didn't make our beds. Next day they said nothing about it !
Everything- it was very comfortable and clean in a great location. The staff were fantastic even with stupid questions:). Also a nice place to have a beer after a tour.
