The girl who spoke Spanish was the best. She did everything she could to help.
The weekend receptionist, I think she was american by the accent. their treatment was quite rude, she strove not to be sympathetic or greet.
Iceland is Expensive so this is a good value for money hotel, nothing else.
Staff aren't very helpful. They smile between themselves but never at you. Location isn't the best to go to the centre.
* you can ask for room with kitchen (so helpful when you are traveling with small kid) * this is a small hotel, so everyone is helpful *
* this is a small hotel, so dont expect few things.. like elevators (so helpful when you are traveling with small kid) * depends on which side of building your room is wind blows can be extremely loud or don't exist at all
Cheap, we were upgraded to en-suite room, free parking, quite close to the center, room included kitchenette and free tea and coffee, comfortable beds, lots of space.
The reception is not 24/7, sink and stoves were a bit dirty, fridge was leaking so the floor was wet, person at the desk was nice but didn't give any information apart from room number, the area around is not very pretty but the price was low.
nice room, good beds, nice staff. the location was a bit far from the city center, but you are told about that in the information about the hotel
maybe some new instalation in the shower
The staff was very rude. Her explanation about payment in euros versus isk was confusing. Also I earlier clarified with the hotel by email whether there was any difference if I paid in euros or isk if my home country is sgd and was told there was none. Actually there was quite a significant difference, almost S$10, and the staff was quite intractable about reversing my charge in isk to let me pay cash in euros, firstly claiming that it was impossible then later admitting it was just because her manager wasn't around to authorise the reversal. Then she told me that anyway they don't accept euros in cash. I don't know if that was true or not. Then she insisted i sign the credit card charge slip cos she cannot reverse. I was forced to accept the situation because I had to go and buy a sim card before the shops closed. Anyway it was a wholly unpleasant experience. For the extra it cost me, i should have just chosen another hotel with a more flexible policy.
Big room with private bathroom and double bed. It also had a mini kitchen. Heating was enough. Breakfast costs 1500 ISK.
Far away from the city centre. WiFi didn't work very well.
The receptionist who spoke Spanish.
The antipathy of the receptionist weekend, American by his accent.
Price is good, room was clean, large and comfortable. Everyone knows where it is. Easy to find.
Location is a 35 minute walk from the centre. Buses 14,15 and 17 from a nearby stop take you to the centre in 5-10 minutes. Bedding is only changed once every three days. Breakfast is expensive for what it is.
Got in 12 hours late from JFK, no sleep. Rented a car. The hotel was easy to find at night in the rain. I was looking for something convenient for my first to nights in Iceland to recover from the flight and get oriented for a 2 1/2 week trip. All lodgings are expensive in Iceland but this one was reasonable. It served my purposes. Nice walk to downtown.
Everything was fine.
It was quiet at night. If you had rented a car and were out touring it would be a fine place to retire to at night.
It is a 30 minute walk to the more active side of town. There is not really a decent place to find food close by. Nothing in the general vacinity to do.
For the price, you get a bedroom with a comfortable bed and own bathroom (very rare at this price in Reykjavik). Check-in and check out was efficient, room was relatively clean but showing its age. This is a no-frills accommodation that would suit someone who just needs a place to sleep. Big bonus is free, strong WIFI.
Bus ride away from the main city center but then again, this just takes 10 minutes or so.
The hotel did not provide bath soap or enough towels.
Calm place. Rather far for the city center.
-Price correct for Reykavik. - Close to the botanical garden. - 2 young and smily women at the reception.
- A bit far from downtown - limestone on chrome shower
Comfortable room Late night check in (01:30)
Not very fast to center if going by public transport
Fair price, location little bit outside downtown, but you can walk there in 30min max. Very close to some shopping area. Easy to find.
On few occasions it was noisy at night time (traffic, trucks unloading)
The staff were pleasant and helpful, the breakfast was substantial. The bed was reasonable and I slept well. There were some nice seating areas available. There is a bus stop close by with frequent and fast service to the city centre. It is close to the zoo
The television was dreadful, only three channels functioned at all, one had no sound for some reason, one worked well and one was Sky News - not my favourite news provider. The bathroom could have been cleaned better. There was hair on the floor and the last persons towels were still hanging up in the bathroom. There was no light in the dark corridor and in the room the curtains did not exclude light effectively so if you find it difficult to sleep where there is light coming in it would not be ideal. The picture gives a false impression, the trees outside have been cut down. The hotel is in the middle of a light industrial area so the surrounds are ... uninspiring.
Nothing to like.
To far from the centre of town. Staff very unfriendly. Rooms unclean. Very poor facilities.
The bath room needs some renovation, while the sleeping room was ok.
Staff were very helpfull and friendly
Fine big rooms. Parking by the hotel
To far away form the centre of Reykjavik (walking)
Breakfast, walking distance to downtown, helpful staff.
The bathroom was really dirthy. The white curtain of the shower was yellow. The wasbasin was filthy. We found a used razor blade and a syringe in the bathroom. There were filthy fingerprints on the doors and the wardrobe and red residues on the radiator (probably nail polish). The bed linen wasn't really white anymore and had even dirthy spots. At the reception they were not friendly and they are bone idle. Definitely a no-go!!!
I liked the nice view from the room to the north on the mountains
I couldn't turn the heating off in the room, the hot water has a strong rotten eggs smell but i guess it is everywhere in Reykjavik like this
