Great staff. Very decorative with the viking theme. Good size room but didn't choose the cheapist. Our friends did that and thier room was tiny. Breakfast was not the best.

The hotel is clean but the rooms do not resemble at all to those presented in the pictures. We chose it for the atmosphere Viking but we finally stayed in a very old fashion bedroom.

I loved the design theme (Viking), the staff helped me book daytrips and the breakfast buffet was good. The location of the Hotel was all that I wanted it to be just outside of the capital and on the city bus line, I really enjoyed My stay both at the Hotel and in Hafnarfjorder. I am recommending this trip to all my friends and associates.

The Viking Hotel has a lot of charm for people who like this sort of thing (the "Viking" theme). The rooms provide everything you need. The hotel is at an excellent location close to Reykjavik and the airport. Rooms could be cleaned sooner on the day.

We used the hotel after a midnight arrival at KEF before our 10am departure to see the Golden Circle. We did not spend much time, but the location and price was right for what we needed it for. The room was a bit smaller than we expected from the pictures online.

Although the hotel is a bit funky in design with its viking motifs, the room was actually clean and a bit larger than normal since it had an extra bed. Our bed was comfortable and the room was clean. It came with a kitchenette, but we didn't use it. It was also the cheapest place we stayed. It was located on the harbor which was nice. It had an elevator The viking style was a little over the top. If you didn't have a car you would have to take a bus to get to the Reykjavik

Very nice hotel and restaurant. Clean spacious room, kettle in the room. Nice breakfast. Interesting design. Seafront across the road. Easy to get to from the airport. Free internet. Very helpful managers. Excellent value for money. Great substitute for Reykjavik's hotels if you travel by car. After we stayed there for 1 night we came back later during our trip as it looked much better vs. other hotels around.

That we were only staying for 1 night !! Rooms very very cramped and small..they had tried to increase their revenue by squeezing more rooms into the hotel..the walls were paperthin. I was woken by their washing machine at 7am on Sunday morning which was 5 rooms away. The fire alarm went off at 10am but there was no staff around to say what to do. All the fire doors closed automatically and we felt trapped and there were no staff in the hotel to tell us whether we should evacuate or not. Turns out someone had burnt the toast. Very over-priced (even for Iceland) for a basic, cramped, noisy single sized room with two small beds. Requested rooms next door to each other as we were travelling with children but given two rooms at opposite ends of the corridoor. Dreadful hotel. The manager was eating his breakfast in the dining room when we arrived for breakfast and he just left his table covered with all his mess, toast crumbs etc and walked out. All other tables were dirty too. Very poor

The guy at the desk of the hotel is very friendly and helpful. The beds were excellent. The design of the hotel is quite extraordinary (if you like that sort of thing). Rooms were cleaned fast (but see the catch in the negatives). The rooms could be cleaned better and the ladies should be more precise with the replacement of items. If you have a room at the harbour front (which are roomy and excellent) then beware of the busy road and the bus stops nearby. The restaurant next to the hotel attracts tourist groups which can be noisy leaving around midnight. However, the rooms are double glazed and thus keeping your windows closed helps a lot. Lastly; the parking spot for disabled people should be marked better (by painting it blue like everywhere else). We where unable to use it most of the time because it was taken by non-handicapped people!

Viking theme in the lobby, the 'Cave' and the lounge were nice, but the room had little Viking about it which was disappointing to my son. Staff were not the friendliest and rarely seemed to be anybody about to ask questions. Breakfast was good variety. Free coffee and internet computer in lounge were nice touches as well. Viking theme could have been extended to the rooms. The hot pot was not the most attractive/appealing.

Hotel stuffs are helpful especially the guy in the reception. The location is not too close to downtown Reykjvik but we can get everything we need in the mall it only 5 minutes walk and also the bus stop is just in front of the hotel. Hotel has nice Viking style design and also located by the sea. Our room has a water view and nice quite place to relax after tours with the good price for sure we will come back again in Summer.
