Service was excellent. Our only dissappointment was the food at dinner time. The breakfast was great, but we felt that the dinner time meal options were not very flavorful. Dinner time food

A nice location but far from everywhere. Too expensive, only wifi in the public rooms. Very commercial, not very personal.

Helpfull staff, glacier view in rooms on the opposite side to main entrance. Wifi only in public areas. Watch carefully for hotel sign on road 1 - it's small and easy to miss.

Setting in a broad field conveys an appreciation of the vistas and terrain of southern Iceland. Rooms and facility feel new and a tad unfinished. Included breakfast offered good variety. Beds are indeed comfortable as other reviewers have commented. Fixed price dinner is understandable but presents difficulties for those who prefer lighter fare especially since there are no other eating options nearby. The wi-fi works fine in the public areas but isn't available in the rooms. A picture or two on the walls of the rooms would make them feel less "institutional."

Very clean room; helpful staff; excellent location (the scenery is absolutely gorgegous!). The breakfast was ok. The room is tiny and spartan. There is no clock, no TV, no phone and no coffemaker. Basically nothing besides the bare minimum. We had a room with 2 beds, and the beds are tiny, smaller than American twin. While I would stay in this hotel again if nothing else is available, I think its really overpriced for what it offers.

Good location and friendly staff The way hotels are priced is a con and I am not sure legal. One rate is used to price in Euro's on booking.com and then another much lower rate to charge your card in ISK. This is not fair and alters the actual price by 15% and there is nothing you can do about it once there.

There was no internet access from the rooms and poor/slow connection from the lobby. There was no tv, radio or refrigerator in the rooms. We are a family of four; after opening the sleeping sofa there was very little space to go around and no cupboards to put away our clothes. We also missed more information about activities and sights in the area. All in all, it was the poorest and most expensive accommodation of the eight during our two-week stay.

Located on a plateau with spectacular views of mountains, distant glaciers and sheep. Free wi-fi in reception areas. Excellent breakfast buffet. The hotel is 15 Km from nearest town, restaurants, shops, petrol etc. No onsite or nearby facilities so plan in advance. Hotel is quite expensive for what it offers but is the only option in that vicinity. Onsite restuarant offers fixed price 3-course menu with choice of 2 x fish mains or 2 x meat mains. Quite good quality but quite expensive C. 6,000 Icelandic Kronor. No kettles provided in rooms for tea/coffee making.

We had a wonderful stay at Islandia Hotel Nupar! I was worried about previous comments that the Hotel is in the middle of nowhere. This statement is true, but what an amazing nowhere and that is just what this part of Iceland is all about!!! We were blown away with the amazing landscape surrounding the Hotel and views of the glacier. Each night before dinner we wandered the countryside surrounding the hotel with our 4 and 7 year-old-children. We all loved the interesting volcanic rock, views, black sand (to roll around in for some!) and sheep visits! We had questioned dining at the hotel, but since it's really the only option, we did so and were incredibly impressed. Delicious dinner buffet and courteous service. And the complementary breakfast is great too. This is also a perfect jumping off point for this part of Iceland to see the nearby glacier, Skattafell, and Jokulsarlon. Again, a wonderful stay and we would visit again and recommend this Hotel!

Best hotel out of 6 we've stayed in Iceland: quiet, clean, comfy (incl. Sleep quality), breakfast No food in the evening in the hotel apart from pricey ($50/person) fixed menu set. Nearest food to be bought ~30km from Nupar hotel

A lovely, slightly weird location (think sheep grazing outside your room, vistas of Iceland's speccy landscapes) in the nether world of close and far to where one wants to be a tourist. But the staff, food and accommodation was great. A bit like a boarding school but all in a good way. It was quiet when I was there; lots of people would improve the experience. The price was a bit steep, but it was remote (ie less competition). A tv in the the room would be good/expected for the cost but the flip slide - less pointless distractions so more quiet time reading, sleeping, have a quiet drink.

Bizarre modular hotel, but strangely charming. Sheep directly outside hotel rooms (who needs a tv). Above average continental breakfast (waffles!). In the middle of nowhere, but near a national park? Pretty expensive for what it is.

Beautiful view of the mountains and glaciers from the rooms. Nice restaurant though a bit expensive. Good breakfast included. Isolated location, nearest very small town 23km or 50km to glacier park entrance. If you like peace and nature this is lovely

Very friendly personnel, excellent breakfast with fresh fruits (a rarity in Iceland). Clean, sober room. Good place to stay for one night while making a roadtrip through Iceland. The hotel is literally located in the middle of nowhere, the black dessert of Iceland. There's nothing nearby but the view over the desert and mountain and glacier that are many miles away. Wifi only in the restaurant/breakfast room. Given location and facilities, it's way overpriced.
