Icelandair Hotel Klaustur  

The welcome from the staff, particularly Stein was very warm and friendly. There is no lift at the hotel but staff carried the luggage up to our room. Local cafes for dinner were recommended as well as their own restaurant ( both choices were excellent for food). The accomodation was clean and comfortable, extra pillows were provided immediately when we requested them. We were helped to fill our drinks flasks with hot water each day so that we could take tea out with us for the day, nothing was too much trouble for Stein and his staff. The staff arranged snowmobiling for us at Vatnajokull at very competitive rates and were very knowledgeable about local attractions and were helpful in providing free maps which they annotated for us to find places easily. It was the Easter weekend when we stayed (April 2012), my daughter and I were given Easter eggs as we departed which was a lovely touch! I would definitely stay here again and thouroughly recommend it to others.

This was the most expensive hotel that we stayed in during our stay in Iceland but there are very few alternatives in the area an we have no complaints.

There aren't too many options out this way but nevertheless this hotel is great. Simple, clean, great staff and good food.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice size room and liked that the bathroom opened into an entry lobby in the room.

The downside was the expensive food and small portions. The food was ok but not value for money at the price. 2 dinners and 1 breakfast came to nearly as much as the room price.

Nice staff, clean

Was moved rooms (uopgraded) as there was a large party booked in after we had booked the room. However the room we were put in was directly above the loudest part of the party where the live musician was.This coulod have been organised better, as we were disturbed by the noise untill 1am. When the manager stated he would turn it down.

This is a suprisingly nice hotel, especially given its location which, to Americans, seems to be in the middle of nowhere. The rooms are modern, clean and well appointed. Breakfast buffet is pricey but very good.

La comida del restaurante es escasa, aunque de buena calidad y elaboración.

Hôtel bien situé pour une étape entre Höfn et Hella et au calme. Chambres assez bien insonorisées.

Qualité des repas très moyenne et buffet de petit déjeuner succint. Pas de savon ni savon douche. Salle à manger très bruyante. Accès ordinateur minuté.

Dit hotel lag ook op onze ronde, het ontbijt was heerlijke, de kamers klein, de badkamer en bedden goed.

Dan de minpunten: zeer zakelijk personeel, ook het uitzicht was waardeloos. De gemiddelde asielzoeker in Nederland heeft een mooier uitzicht en dat mag natuurlijk niet als je naar de prijs kijkt van dit hotel.
