The host was welcoming and friendly, great conversation, went out of his way to point out the attractions in town and the restaurants. Our room had a great view of the spaceship church and the bay with the islands. Heimir gave us excellent advice about seeing the peninsula as well. Beds were comfortable, clean, and the breakfast was nice as were the tea and cookies when we arrived..a cozy nest with interesting photographs on the wall and books, a real home stay.
Having the bathroom downstairs from the room was a little inconvenient, but it was okay,
only one shared bathroom with toilet
Very nice personal atmosphere. Extra free breakfast service. Great stories.
Very friendly, helpfull host. Nice room
The house is in the second line of houses on the street. There is a small sign, but too small to locate it.
Friendly welcome . Interest and character of this old icelandic house
The small bathroom not really clean nor the kitchen either... The value for money is really poor
You have a good look at the beach and the wonderful church. But only in two rooms. If you have the other rooms you hav'nt good outlooking.
The house is very very dirty! You can't take a shower Ort use the kitchen. It is to expensive for that what find on rooms. Also you didn't become some informations what you can Don,if you are travelling with busses or to go on hiking nearby.
The location was the best feature of the house. On the other hand, the village is quite small and most houses are within the walking distance from the harbour and restaurants.
The bathroom was the most disappointing of all. There is only one toilet for about 8 people, the sink is tiny and none of us used the shower during the morning rush. On the other hand, one can walk to the public swimming pool that has nice facilities and opens very early.
Wonderful location and interesting propriatore.
only one bathroom/wc for 3 or 4 rooms
Host is fun, excentric, gives lots of insight into local and Icelandic affairs in a charming and funny way. Likeable person. The house is rustic, you either like it or not. We did :-)
Bathroom facilities inadequate, price of about 100 Euros a bit on the high side.
Well located in the picturesque village of Stykkisholmur. Good breakfast Genial host.
The location and limited competition = higher than normal cost. One small bathroom for 4 sets of guests rooms can be inconvenient.
Heimir, the owner, surprised us with breakfast and kept is entertained with Stories about the village, Iceland and Life in general. He also gave is a tour of the village from the top of hill - including food recommendations. Thank you!
The house is a little cluttered, but as we were staying at someone's home, it should be the way he likes it.
Although far from five star this was our favourite stay of the 38 nights we had in Iceland.
Location is great, if a bit hard to find. Host was quite affable.
A little short of WC facilities. And the price charge reflects the location near the ferry more than it does the quality and ambiance of the of the lodging itself.
This is a real taste of old Iceland. Heimir is a very friendly host with a great sense of humour. The location is perfect, overlooking the sea and we highly recommend this home stay. As far as any negative comments on here are concerned, if you want luxury - stay at a hotel!
Hard to find; this is basically a guy who shares his home with several guests with 1 bathroom - grossly overpriced for what it is
- very kind host - comfortable beds
- no facilities (breakfast, coffee) - verf small room - excessive price for this accomodation
It's nice if you want to try true life of locals in small town. Wooden House plenty of fotos, belongings and nick-nacks of family. Wi-fi available inside rooms.
Extremely small rooms and facilities. You will hear all noise and step.
very friendly owner and host. Interesting old building with its own atmosphere very close to town and ferry
Crammed room with plastic old stuff, dusty and similar to the bathroom, desperately needed cleaning. It's a disgrace for booking.com just to have this guesthouse in the database.
Location is good if visiting snaefellsjokull area of Iceland. Easy access roads from Reykjavik to this place. Budget stay.
The bathroom was a bit smelly at times, but overall it is quite clean for a shared facility.
Very friendly host: He picked me up at the bus stop, offered to borrow me a guitar, told a lot about Iceland and the town and drove me to nice places for taking photos. The single room had a good size. It came with a comfortable bed, two chairs, a table and a desk. The view out of window was beautiful. It is not like a hotel, but definitely perfect for people who like guesthouses or homestays. It was a great experience!
friendly owner. nice bed
It is a home stay, place is not clean and smelly especially the bathroom which you have to share with a lot of other people. Photo`s on booking.com look much better than reality. No breakfast possible, price to high for what you are getting.
- great welcome from the owner and his recommendations for Snaeffelsness trips
- no breakfast available - place urgently needs some renovation
Very good staff perfect to give recommendation about snaefellnes and Iceland. Also the location is very good with brilliant view from the window.
The host was a very friendly chap.
Langey Homestay is, as the name implies, a stay in a person's home. There is only one bathroom in a 2-storey home that, during our visit, had at least 5 occupied rooms. We had to wait in line to use the facilities. For $130/night we were placed in a room crowded with non-functioning computer equipment, musical instruments and other paraphanalia. It was a room clearly used by the owner. In addition, the curtains on the the windows were thin and ill-fitting and did little too block out the 24-hour sunlight making it difficult to sleep at night.
