Owner was very friendly, helpful and full of knowledge of places to visit etc..
Location, great staff, nearby fantastic spa, good recommendation for nearby seafood dinner, nice kitchen
Small room with smallest ever "double bed". I'm quite ok with that. But this is an attic room, meaning super low ceiling and beams. Accidentally hit my head twice on the atttic (although not that painful). Not ok with this one.
Incredibly nice and helpful staff; great location across the street from a huge outdoor, public thermal pool; good walking distance to downtown which was perfect after a good meal; got a great night's sleep. Would stay again by myself or with my family.
The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The shared kitchen was cosy and clean. There is a supermarket close by, and not a far walk from good restaurants. Also, the buses to city centre are only minutes away.
It was a little bit noisy where we stayed, because our room was right next to the kitchen. Also, there was a weird high-pitch beeping sound coming from the toilet next-door, but the staff said they would fix it. It might perhaps not be the most romantic place to stay, but it is a great alternative if you wish to stay somewhere cheap.
Big heater in dorm
Clean rooms & bathroom, helpful staff, own car park.
Arrived late, nobody to meet&greet just notes & instructions on door but all well explained. No air conditioning in room.
The staff were very helpful and the location was convenient for a short walk into the city.
very kindly and friendly staff! helped us with many problems - with tours, routes and lots of another things! near the city center.
The guest house is located in a quiet neighbourhood of Laugardalur some distance from the city (about 20 min. walk) but close to the thermal pool, botanical garden, Reykjavik Zoo and excellent traditional Icelandic restaurant Lagua-As. The rooms and facilities are clean and well kept and Vala, the host was very helpful with arranging the tours and getting all the all informations regarding the trips. Definitely the place to stay in Reykjavik.
The service was excellent. Te hosts were very accommodating about our Kate flight and breakfast was on the house :)
The facilities were a little run down. The kitchen was a bit of a mess. However, it served its purpose: sleep.
a bit hard to find
The owner was very accommodating when we changed our plans and decided to stay elsewhere for one of our 4 nights. Also, she and her father cautioned us from traveling along the south road on the day we planned due to a storm. They protected us from a very unpleasant experience. We went the next day and enjoyed our trip immensely. We liked the people at Laugabjarg very much.
We did not love the quality of the room. It did not actually have a bed. It was simply a box spring and mattress on the floor. Comfortable but not what I would expect at this stage of my life. Also, the bathrooms were shared, which I knew would be the case, but the 2 showers were not located on our floor. We only had a powder room which was less than lovely. At the beginning of our stay we were very disappointed. By the end of our stay we felt much more positive. I can not say if I would recommend it because I'm not sure.
Super-friendly staff - there was a little problem with my room because I arrived early, so they made great conversation over free coffee while it was sorted out; eventually I was upgraded to an enormous private 6-bed dorm room all to myself; later they very kindly gave me a ride into the city centre. Everything is very clean and tidy. Good kitchen and bathroom facilities. Located close to stops for two bus routes 12 and 14), or walking into town is pleasant (30 mins along seafront). 10-11 convenience store just around the corner, open 24 hours.
If the weather is bad (this is Iceland!) then you have to rely on buses - be careful, since you need exact change on hand and the stops are a few minutes walk, so make sure you have good clothing! The tour/excursion companies pick up from the main road, not immediately in front of the lobby, so don't miss them!
The rooms are clean and there are good cooking facilities. It's fantastic value for money in Reykjavick which is expensive.
There isn't a door to the kitchen so good smells linger in the bedrooms.
Friendly and very helpful staff. The kitchen was clean and you get complimentary access to a geothermal pool nearby. There's a 24 hour supermarket (10-11) close by. Good place to stay!
The hospitality was superb. Everyone was willing to help and giving recommendations on things to see, where to go, where not to go, etc. Room was comfortable with a beautiful window above the bed.
The beds were very comfortable, the staff was super nice, and the breakfast spread was good.
It was a bit noisy at night.
The woman working at the desk was incredibly helpful. She let me check in very early and helped me figure out how to get to the different locations I needed to go. I really enjoyed my stay here.
Wonderful place to stay. Staff was super. Rooms were clean and comfy. Staf was helpful with maps directions and about how to find the grocery store and the pool. We stayed in 3 countries on our trip and this was our fav hotel! Breakfast hit the spot. Thank you !!!
The staff is really friendly and welcoming. It was really nice to have suggestions around the place to visit and the things to do, I found them extremely kind and caring. The location was fairly good, around 20 mins walking from the city center and the area was pretty quiet. We didn't stay in that much and we didn't use the kitchen at all as we always came back from our tours quite late however, the accommodation seemed generally clean and calm.
The room was really small for two people and the breakfast could be a bit more varied and fresh for the price paid. I am sorry to say these things as the staff was lovely but the breakfast was a huge disappointment for us. However, I strongly recommend this place.
Very friendly and helpfull staff Location, very close to the city center
We were allowed to stay until 9 pm on the night of departure to our flight. We received information regarding tours.parking available at the premises.kitchen fully outfitted,
Shared bathroom is inconvenient, but pretty common in iceland. Breakfast was basic, but reasonable.
The staff were amazing, very helpful after Easyjet lost my luggage, offering me cloths if i needed them. Breakfast is simple but delicious. Only 25 minutes from down town it was perfect and quite. I had a double room on the top floor. No issues sleeping or with noise. Had full use of their washing machines and dryer which was extremely helpful. It is also located across the road from a swim house, €3 or $4 for the day. Highly Recommend!
I can't really fault anything. It was a perfect stay for us.
I felt very at home in the house. The staff was fantastically helpful and friendly. Very good service, big value for money. Nice breakfast, nice rooms. Very good facilities, to make your own food and coffee and tea.
Maybe a little bit far to walk to the city center, but there are buses and I absolutely thought it was worth it. There are exciting things near by as well.
