|Opening in June 2015, this stylish 16-floor hotel provides great city and sea views.||
This family-owned guesthouse in central Reykjavik is a quarter mile from the shopping Laugavegur Street.
Score from 624 reviews Very good
In central Reykjavík, these modern apartments are just a short walk from Hlemmur Bus Station and the main shopping street, Laugavegur.
Score from 604 reviews Very good
Set an 8-minute drive from central Reykjavik, this hotel offers free parking and brightly decorated rooms with a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi access. Kringlan Shopping Centre is 1 km away.
Score from 219 reviews Excellent
Boutique hotel with basic amenities. However, the staffs are what makes the stay so much more pleasant. Special mention to Halldor the front desk staff. He is professional, friendly & helpful. Always warm and smiley.
The small bathroom. Shower stall had no threshold so bathroom floor gets wet.
Everything! The location, whilst not in the very centre, is central enough. The staff are superb. Breakfast was excellent. The rooms are comfy and warm.
My one minor (very minor) complaint is that the lighting in the bedroom is quite dark. Could use one main light instead of multiple small lamps. Other than that very small nit-picking, it was all superb.
The view of the church at 7:30 am. Also, everyone was very friendly and helpful
Fantastic view from my room on the third floor. Comfortable and quiet hotel, had a great night sleep every night of my stay. Great breakfast with lots of choice. Can book all tours from the reception with Reykjavik excursions and they pick you up and drop you off right outside (this hotel is usually the first stop on the way home which is great) Very friendly and accommodating staff and I got checked in as soon as I got to the hotel at 12 Speedy Free WiFi
I loved everything about my stay but if you like lots and lots of space it may be on the small side. The bed is huge though and rooms are very well furnished so I was happy!
comfy beds. friendly staff. good buffet breakfast. powerful shower. in room safe. kettle provided. clean modern room. good location.
only 4 coat hangers. bedding not changed during 4 night stay. telephone did not work despite reporting to reception. room advertised as having a dvd player but did not have one. tea making facilities had not been replenished on arrival from previous guests. paper cups were provided only 1 out of 4 days to make drinks in. no toilet roll on last night of stay but could not ring reception as phone did not work so had to go to reception to sort out.
Staff were welcoming and accommodating. Kettle with tea and coffee in room. Large rooms. Bicycle storage area. Good breakfast. Quiet and convenient location to central Reykjavik. I will stay at Fosshotel Lind on my next visit to Reykjavik.
Wifi signal should be stronger.
Friendly and helpfull staff. Beds very comfortable. Excellent choice and quality of breakfast.
Shower a bit restrictive
Good location to explore the city by foot, car parking is a huge plus. Warm and comfortable rooms, it was possible to control the heating. Very good breakfast.
Late check in (after 4.00pm), smell of the water which we felt only here and not in any other part of the country we visited. Not sure if it is a problem of the hotel or Reykjavik as a whole.
Wonderful staff who were so helpful, friendly, and welcoming! Clean and cozy rooms with very comfy beds. Breakfast was excellent - lots to choose from (including waffles!). Would definitely stay here again.
The pillows were too soft
Airport shuttle delivered to front door, close walk to downtown main shopping area. City bus terminal is very close. Helpful staff made me a sandwich when I left before breakfast to the airport.I didn't even have to ask for it.
Fair price. Location not in city center but walking distance to anything we wanted to visit. Very nice breakfast.
Parking lot operation was clumsy. Rooms could use some upgrades and better lights.
* Reasonably priced for Reykjavik. * Friendly helpful staff (we had to leave at 03:00 for an early flight, the receptionist had made us sandwiches for the journey!) * Slightly out of the main centre (15 mins walk to old town) * The airport Plus Bus drops outside the hotel making airport transfers easy.
* Basic rooms, with clingy shower curtain. *Most people go out on trips which leave the hotel at 8:00-8:30. This means the breakfast room can get crowded between 7:00 & 8:00 * Noise from other rooms is easily heard.
The lady at the front desk was wonderful! She treated us like gold and made every effort to help with all our requests, including booking sightseeing and airport transportation. The accommodation is basic, not posh, building is older. Quiet and peaceful. The breakfast buffet was delicious.
The wifi did not work in our wing of the hotel so we had to sit on a bench by the stairs or in the lobby. The elevator is old and small, which is only a problem if you have a lot of luggage like us! Prices in Iceland are very high, rooms are at a premium, and this hotel is no exception. Not in the main centre - 20 minute walk from harbour.
Wi-Fi was free (no logins or anything) and quite fast. Nice and clean room. Good location.
Breakfast and Front desk service
TV set and very poor TV programs and image transmission
Hotel was quiet and clean and had in room safe that worked. Breakfasts were good but the same hot choices every day. Staff was very helpful.
The bathroom configuration in a single room had to be used a few times to learn how not to flood the floor from the shower.
Location and staff
Breakfast should open at 6.30 rather than 7.00
Location was pretty close to central district. Restaurant was very good.
Shower was tiny and room was small and pricey too. WiFi was so, so.
Good location, friendly staff
Centrally located with parking on site. Room was fine, nothing special, but clean and comfortable.
The Staff couldn't do enough to help us and gave us good advice. Very polite and helpful. Rooms were very clean. Location excellent.
Didn't like the shower facilities as the room got very wet. Would be nice for the bar to be open longer in the evenings. Be nice for outdoor terrace/ smoking area.
The location is great, and the breakfast was AWESOME. Very clean too!
In my corner of the room, I couldn't connect to the Wi-Fi. I had to sit by the door to get it. The shower not being more separated from the bathroom (no rim around it) was very strange. It was a little annoying that after we showered, we basically couldn't go back in the bathroom without our feet getting wet.
Friendly staff, clean rooms amd outstanding breakfast.
Terrible wifi (only seemed to get reception towards the middle of the building, and never in my room). There are more central hotels. It was about a 15 min to the center of things in town.
Fosshotel Lind is a comfortable, brightly-decorated hotel, on the edge of the downtown area, with a classic Scandinavian feel. The staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the caretaking staff. The breakfast choices were good and included hot offerings and the room was never too crowded. A restaurant and lounge on the main floor offers delicious meals at supper-time and drinks and desserts throughout the evening. A good wifi signal is available throughout the hotel, without the passwords and nagging that is typical of most hotels. Parking is readily available in the hotel parking lot or on the street (metred from 10 to 6 but free the rest of the time). The location is pretty quiet, given how close it is to Reykjavík's main shopping and entertainment district.
Entering the hotel parking lot is cumbersome (the key is kept at the front desk), so I generally parked and paid on the street, since I was in and out a lot — but that was a minor nuisance.
