Great Staff Clean and big rooms Good Breakfast
internet can be temperamental in hotel room, but was really good in lobby (perhaps our room was in a dead spot?)
Next door to Eagle Airport. Very convenient if taking day trip with Eagle Air.
Inconvenient location. Average taxi is $15 (US) each way to downtown. Some staff members were friendly. Management was seriously lacking. Afternoon/ early evening desk staff consisted of "trainee" while others were on dinner break. Gift shop/ travel desk staff were frequently "on break" and indifferent toward guests when present. We stayed as part of a tour. Our room on the last night was very worn, and in need of updating. Shower door did not close. Wifi only connected if standing in entrance.
Excellent décor within the hotel, staff were pleasant and helpful. Room was clean and well kept, good location with nice scenery a short walk to a geothermal beach and also to the Pearl overlooking the hotel, with a small domestic airport to the rear of the hotel, nice to watch incoming planes ect. The hotel has a lovely spa also, very good for relaxing with a nice hot tub, the restaurant has lovely food on offer and are happy to help with taking meat out of selected items in order to make them vegetarian friendly.
A wider choice of foods within the restaurant would be better as there isn't a variety of alternatives close to the hotel.
Free bus pass Free spa access Free snacks and drinks 5pm til 11pm 5 minutes from the centre Staff extremely helpful couldn't do enough for you Excellent room facilities
Breakfast really not good and very poor value for money
The pool and gym were good, the room was comfortable.
The service in the resturart was only fair, some staff were young and were not given enough supervision to help them. The manager seemed unaware when the young staff were overwhelmed, they neede more oversight. They were polite and trying just not very skilled for crowds.
Fabulous breakfast buffet. Happy hour daily...great idea.
Did not realize there was a small airport next door. Unless you can walk long distances, you would need a car to go into town. No shopping close by. A fee to use the pool.
Restaurant, spacious hotel
I booked this hotel because they advertise an indoor swimming pool , what is not mentioned is that the swimming pool is for the Spa or by payment only and also is only open certain hours of the day, not at all what I expected.
Facilities are very convenient, superbly maintained and immaculately clean. Fantastic food. Staff is very friendly and professional, you feel at home from the first moment
The cleanliness of the dining room and how very helpful the staff were.
We were both quite sick during our nearly 3 day stay and were surprised that we could not get a light breakfast without paying the full buffet price.
Close to the Pearl just over the road and not far from the geothermal beach. Free bus pass for buses into the city. Food really nice in restaurant.
Found it noisy at night due to planes taking off and landing outside. It is next to the domestic airport. Also very windy and rainy and it kept beating against my window and whistling.
The staff was super friendly, rooms are clean, restaurant food is great and would specially like to mention the services of the tour desk lady Ms Lara..she was so helpful and almost always went out of her way to suggest tours and excursions which enabled us have a fantastic tour of iceland.
T.he fact that although it was a large hotel it felt very cosy and friendly
On the second night I ate fish soup which gave me food poisoning!
The hotel was full so we were upgraded to the suite instead of staying in the room we had booked. Very nice and comfortable, nature friendly, nordic design with nice view over the airport for the smaller, interesting planes, without causing us any inconvenience because of noise etc. Unfortunately we did not have time to enjoy the breakfast or complementary treatment in the hotel´s Natura Spa. The hotel has excellent location, the heart of Reykjavik in quiet outskirts of the domestic airport, without the crowdyness and traffic and parking problem of Down Town. Nice surroundings for walking and enjoying the view from Öskjuhlíð / Perlan. Probably best for people with access to car or who are comfortable with using public transport.
Can´t think of anything!
The hotel was clean and the staff were all very helpful when registering and telling us about the flybus transfer to the airport. It saved us on the cab fare, which would have been double the cost. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were warm. It is in a good location and the center of Reykjavik is only about a 5 minute cab ride. I would stay there again when and if we ever travel back to Iceland. It is a beautiful country and I would love to go back some day.
The hotel was a little dated and we had one waitress that was not very good and she disappeared at the end of our dinner. We waited for at least 10 minutes for her to come back so we could ask for our check. Other than that it was an enjoyable stay.
I stay here frequently & come here, specifically, for location, food (breakfast and brunch) sleep and Soley spa. Front desk staff is pleasant and the rooms are quiet. The buffet breakfast is one of my favorites in Reykjavik.
Need more servers in the restaurant. Service is very slow at dinner time. Menu is limiting and over priced and the food isn't always that good. Rooms that face the front of the building tend to be a little noisy for me. Tourist busses pull up and are loud at 4am. I am sensitive to cigarette smoke and isn't pleasant when people smoke outside.
The environment at the hotel. Stylish, "organic" and modern. Delicious buffet and breakfast. Relaxing pool and hot pool.
Clean and comfortable with friendly staff. Liked bird displays and hidden Bobby Fischer display. Food was delicious.
Seemed just a bit overpriced.
Good food,excellent staff,clean,extra facilities( pool/sauna) excellent,clean and comfortable
Surrounding(right above the domestic airport with much noise) non/poor control of temperature in the room, city center only by taxi
Good customer service. Lovely lobby and dining area.
It was too far from the city center. The TV's were small with only 6 channels and none of those were worthwhile for Americans. No bar soap or shampoo in bathroom.
Very helpful staff. Good facilities. Location good.
Rooms on the small side. Out-dated televisions in rooms. Spa & pool close by 8pm On the expensive side
Easy to get into the centre, close to main roads and walking distance from domestic airport - and private aviation facilities.
Breakfast not brilliant.
Very efficient staff. Very comfortable room.
Bit far from down town.
Staff addressed all concerns and bent over backwards to help
Perhaps needs a cheaper food option for those who cannot afford to eat in the restaurant every night and because it is a bus journey or a walk away from cafes in town
Nice restaurant/bar. Friendly, helpful staff. Great gift shop. Helpful tourist information attendant. Modern decor in lobbies.
Old, dated rooms. Very small beds. Close to Reykjavik attractions, but many other more centrally located facilities. Booking.com should make it more clear that this hotel is nowhere near the international airport. It's directly next to the domestic airport, which is 45km away from the international airport.
