Nice owner/operator, nice sauna and hot springs
Termal pools are perfect to relax after a hard day. The owner is friendly.
The rooms are too tiny breakfast is normal not much options
The owner is super friendly and his dog is awesome. Pools with hot water are nice. Nice sitting area outside. It's a good place, close to Geysir and if you accept it's limitation you will have a nice stay there
No shower in the building, that's especially a downside when it's cold and raining. Two pools and a sauna doesn't make it a spa (but they are still cool). Walls are thin and you can hear people in the toilet etc.
I was a little leery about this place when we first got there and saw it. But I was pleasantly surprised at the quaint charm the place had. It was rustic, but charming. We met people from other parts of the world and talked about or experiences in Iceland. The breakfast was just so-so, but comparable to the other places we stayed at. The sauna felt so good and the hot spa was relaxing too.
The hot pool and sauna, kindness of the staff, possibility to use the kitchen, great location to visit the Golden Circle
The room was very small and the walls too thin, we could hear every time the people in the other rooms went to the toilets or to have their breakfast... As the only showers were outside by the pool, they were not so clean (eg. spiders inside) and felt cold.
The hot tub is great. Dark sky location. Fresh tomatoes from the local farm. Very near to Geysir.
Good laugh with the host The pool
The rooms are too small et noisy if next to toilets
showers outside the main building
Great signage made it easy to find, even off the beaten path. It was clean and modern, and the host put out a nice breakfast. He was friendly and respectful. Would absolutely recommend staying here.
Don't expect a hot spring in the ground...the mineral water does indeed come from a spring, but is in a typical swimming pool. However, it's right on the deck and felt wonderful.
Great location, close to Gulfoss and Geysir, calm. Thermal pool is a great way to relax. Friendly hosts opened their little paradise for us visitors. They also offer a great internet connection.
Valur, thank you for sharing your little paradise! For a few days our beautiful base for trips around Iceland 's Golden Circle wonders. Excellent plus are the sauna and swimming pool!
Excellent welcome with sauna and geothermal large swimming pool. We also had an interesting chat with the owner on icelandic saga, religious origins, reforestation schemes, etcetera. (The italian couple)
We felt welcomed and relaxed at this guest house. House was nice and stars were unbelievable.
Absolutely brilliant guesthouse with exceptionally kind caretakers. Will definitely recommend to anyone.
Location close to Geysir Poolwater is nice and warm
Rooms are extremely small / no space to put your luggae Two toilets/bathroom per 18 guests Extremely noisy, there is no privacy and we could not sleep after 7AM since breakfast was prepared next to our room Family with 4 kids using the hotel as their home, bringing constant unrest and noise from the different I-pads, Laptops, TV/movies
Very nice little guesthouse, we were delighted with our stay. Lovely people. I highly recommend it.
Little warm swimming pool
- the pool - the hot pot - the sauna - the kitchen - the location
- Nothing! Was just perfect.
comfort of the kitchen, living room, spa and hot tub, quiet and cosy.
unpaved road to get there, 4 rooms for 1 bathroom
This place is a little piece of heaven. We had a wonderful night's sleep in a cozy room and enjoyed the hot tub, pool, and sauna immensely. The host was very friendly and helpful providing great recommendations that really made the rest of our trip!
Owner's family (and dog) were extremely friendly and helpful. Everything was very clean. Rooms were cozy. We didn't make use of the pool, sauna, etc. but it looked nice.
The bathroom had a bit of a wait - maybe a few too many people staying in the place for one bathroom.
Includes a sauna and a large natural hot tub
Very friendly owners -- a wonderful and sweet family! The location was not far from the town and the national park if you have a car and the facilities and garden were lovely. The pool and sauna area is very nice with charming and clean rooms inside the guesthouse. Would definitely recommend for a nice little oasis with a friendly welcome! :-)
Great place with sauna and wirpool, very helpful and friendly owner. It is like a small oasis surrounded by trees. Ideal for trips to Golden Circle or to Hekla.
The hot pot and the pool was absolutely amazing. The owner is friendly and very helpful.Best stay during our honeymoon.
