the room is spacious and clean; reasonable price
far away from city centre, about 15 minutes walk
I enjoyed the quiet nature of the house and having a fully equipped kitchen to use for meals in between outings. The guesthouse is very close to the National Museum and a short walk from bus routes. Good facilities with laundry, large bathroom, and a comfortable bed. Other guests were very friendly, neat, and quiet.
My bedroom was closest to the street, which is a busy road so traffic was audible almost constantly. It didn't prevent me from sleeping, but it did take a bit longer to fall asleep. The proprietor wasn't there when I arrived, and I'm not sure if I actually met them during my stay, so I had to ask other guests any questions I had.
Staff are lovely this is a real home from home. Great kitchen and sitting room. Comfortable rooms.
Beds might be a bit soft for some people.
Good location close to the centre of town
Our room was extremely small.
The people of guesthouse are very kind. The room and the beds are big and confortable. There is a kitchen you can use.
The kitchen was very dirty.
The location is convenient, the number of guestrooms per WC is good, and some free chocolate was provided.

A short walk into the centre of Reykjavik, very friendly and helpful staff, nice kitchen and living area.
The owner has allowed us to check-in late and everything was organized when we arrived. The beds are really comfortable. The owner is really nice, friendly and helpful and she gave us plenty of tips to travel and what to see. We felt like home in the morning eating breakfast with all the other guests and sharing nice travel experiences.
Location 5 minutes walking from center of Reykiavik

Only one shower for many people Throughout the night you can hear cars
Arrived in a cold and rainy late morning from the airport, and the houses was locked. Hoped to drop our luggage and called the owner but no reply. Luckily a lady next door helped us to phoned twice, and a woman came(not the owner) who was complaining our early arrival before the time to check in unhappily. My mother nearly caught a cold because of the bad weather so I asked her if she could give me a glass of warm water and then she was more angry with my rudeness( she directly said that) and told me that this was not a regular hostel. I admit that I should have told them the time of my arrival but you know what makes a hostel or hotel worth staying.
Great - good place to stay, feel like home. Nice people, allways friendly and helpfull.
An awsome place to stay in Rekjavik. Leyfi, the host, is an amazing and friendly woman. We ended up staying with her talking every night. The place is a great house, rooms are fair, shower and living room are great. A walking distance from the bus station. Very very very recommended!
The location of the guesthouse is very good, not far from the town center. We had a nice, clean room. Facilities ( bathroom, kitchen,... ) also comfortable and clean. The owner lady is very friendly and gave us a warm welcome and some inside information about life in Iceland. Nordurstjarnan Guesthouse is a very good place to stay in Reykjavik.
It is a very nice place to stay at, when you travel alone. I never got the feeling of being lonely. The owner is very nice an very helpful. The location is near to the city center and the ocean (walking distance). A Bakery, a grocery store, an Icecreamshop and a swimmingpool are close by the house.
very helpful and kind hostess; good location, not far from center; I felt free to come and go; very comfortable bed and nice, clean room. A cosy guesthouse.
Attentive and kindly accommodating for our late 4am arrival.
We had a wonderful stay. The owner was teriffic and we would stay there again.
The place is clean and safe good value for the money
Very pleased in general. Easy to find and a great deal for the money
The owner is exceptionally nice and helpful. The location is just great, it is fantastic to have Vesturbæjarlaug, the swimming pool, very close by.
Laufey was helpful and created very friendly atmosphere:) Room was clean and bed comfortable. Questhouse is located 15 min walk from main bus station and 10 min to Reykjavik center and Atlantic Ocean. I will come back to this questhouse:) Just in case: Iceland Guided Tours and Reykjavik Excursions pick me up from and to the questhouse without any problem after my kindly request:)
Location 15 mins away walking from the Harpa and the city center. Confortable beds, clean bathroom and a kitchen with most tools you should need to cook your own dinner. Pretty quiet at night.
Owner was friendly and very helpful answering my questions. The place was very clean and homely. The place was only about a 15 minute walk from the centre if town (though that may be less fun in winter!). Excellent value for money
