Hotel Olafsvik  

Actually we originally wanted to sleep in Olafsvik, because of Whale Watching. Unfortunately it turned out that there is no Whale Watching in Olafsvik any more. The receptionist of the hotel was very very friendly and came up with the proposal to take a trip to Hellar on the other side of snaefellsbaer to a Hotel (Hotel Hellar) which belongs to the same Group. It was a great trip and the Hotel ist really recommendable. Best Food that we have had in Island, very nice rooms, with a beautiful view to the Seaside. Getts 5 out of 5 Stars from us. It was perfect.

Uns hat die Lage gut gefallen und das Früchstück war auch gut.

Die Matratzen waren fürchterlich durchgelegen, muß aber nicht in jedem Zimmer so gewesen sein.

Siamo giunti all'hotel alle 22 tranquilli visto che sulla e-mail di conferma c'era scritto che il check in era possibile fino alle 23, ma quando siamo arrivati davanti alla struttura ci siamo trovati davanti ad un albergho apparentemente disabitato e senza nessun indicazione; dopo svariati tentativi siamo riusciti a trovare il receptionist e ad entrare in una camera che era completamente al di fuori delle nostre aspettative: un mini appartamento con la moquette macchiata e completamente priva di asciugamani. Colazione scarsa. Tutto questo per 120 euro!!!

Nogal armoedige indruk. Lakens gescheurd, badkamer aan vernieuwing toe, héél basic. Doordat een groep in het hotel logeerde, ben je als individuele reiziger verplicht buiten het hotel te gaan eten.

Sa situation au centre du village.

Pas de service hôtelier le soir si nous ne sommes pas en groupe. Heureusement, le petit restaurant, en face de l'hôtel, offre des mets délicieux dans une ambiance conviviale.

We stayed in the studio apartment across the hotel. The room was nice and very spacious with twin beds, a sofa bed and dining area. It was also provided with kitchen facilities (refrigerator, microwave, and eating utensils) Breakfast was good and included in the rate. The location was great and we could walk to the small fishing harbour. It was a good base to explore the South West area of Iceland (Hellnar, glacier etc.) as the attractions are within half an hour drive only.

Wifi was available for free but only in the hotel lobby and dining area.

Lauantain ja sunnuntain välisenä yönä käytävästä kuului useasti kovaäänistä keskustelua.

Zeer ruime kamer en verzorgde badkamer.

Ontbijt was heel beperkt vooral het broodaanbod.Versheid werd in vraag gesteld.

vi likte godt at vi fikk kjøkken og stort rom, men min søster fikk utsiktsrom med punkterte vinduer, det var jo dårlig. helt grei plass for overnatting på tur rundt Snæfeldnes.. som er en nydelig perle.

punkterte vinduer på sjøsiden, ødela utsikten på det ene rommet, vårt rom var mot gaten og da har en jo trafikkstøy. ikke rene glass i kjøkkenskapet og kun 1 kniv, når vi var 2stk på rommet

El personal del hotel era antipático y poco resolutivo. Las habitaciones eran tercermundistas absolutas (las toallas que teníamos para la ducha estaban manchadas de lejía y sucias; en la habitación no funcionaba la luz con lo que estabamos a oscuras; todo estaba muy sucio; las puertas de las habitaciones estaban rotas de haberles dado patadas; no funcionaba el agua caliente en la ducha; los enchufes de la habitación estaban colgando literalmente de las paredes; y para colmo la calefacción no funcionaba). No recomiendo este hotel a nadie.
