The space, perfect setting for a family stay.
Bedroom could do with a better clean.
Great location and good that the tour buses pick up and drop of here. Good breakfast and so nice to sit and relax any time of day with the free coffee and cake they give. Other hotels don't do this. Very clean and staff extremely helpful even if you haven't booked trips through them. Amazing price and the kids loved the family room. Highly Recommend.
Don't be upset if you go to Iceland in the winter and see nothing. You will need a very clear night sky and sun activity to see the lights and we saw nothing on the whale watching trip. This country has extreme weather so trips are cancelled regularly. In saying that, it is a beautiful place and see it as a bonus whatever you get to see or do because there are some really amazing sights and activities. Going in the summer gives a much better chance to do and see things but obviously there are no lights then.
Free tea and coffee and cake. Breakfast was ok.
We stayed in a quadruple room which was a bit small.
Very welcoming, small (in a good way) and friendly hotel. Free tea and coffee all day, with homemade cake in the evening. Lovely!! Simple but sufficient and tasty breakfast.
Water pressure in shower was good
Our room smelled really bad; the carpet had stains all over it; they only provided one poor pillow per bed.
Nice room, good buffet breakfast, good value for money. Nice, helpful staff. We recommend this hotel despite of the payment incident and we would stay there again!
The cash payment in euros added 4% to the booking price (which was not a problem), but asking for 10% extra during our last day there (after the payment was done one day before) was unacceptable. We suggest that you pay in local currency to avoid any issues!
The staff were all friendly, and would go out of their way to sort out any issues. The tea, cake and coffee available all day was excellent after lots of sightseeing, and breakfast was just what was needed each morning. Location-wise, the hotel is near supermarkets and only 15 minute wander into the centre of the City via the main shopping street.
Enjoy every minute
All was good
Breakfast and free coffee and cake all day. Free wifi a hit with our teenage children. They also liked the layout of the room with their own space on the mezzanine level.
Location was good, free cake and coffee was appreciated, hotel computer was out of order for our stay, staff very helpful and friendly
Perhaps seating in room other than bed and a small vanity chair would be helpfull and facilities to make tea and coffee in room, towels were a little poor in bathroom, thin and hard, but overall for price all ok
Hotel had good location , not far from reykjavik city centre. we walked everywhere .there is supermarket about 5 minutes away from hotel. Staff was excelent very helpfull. There is free tea and coffee all day long and also lovely cake available around 5pm. Breakfast was nice. Room are spacious, we stayed in this hotel in january and it was absolutely freezing outside but it was lovely and warm in our room :) . I had very nice stay,i would recommend this hotel to anybody who is traveling on budget and is looking for clean place to stay within walking distance from city centre.
I liked everything.
The hotel is a 5mins walk from the bus stop and a 5mins ride from the city centre; alternatively, you can take a 20mins walk and enjoy the breathtaking view of the mountains, totally worth it even in winter time! The staff is friendly, the tea/coffee is free downstairs in the common room, wifi available in the rooms and free of charge. Very clean, quiet, and a very different experience. A hotel that feels like home.
Breakfast: after 3 days you dread the sight of oatmeal müsli.
Clean and peaceful. Just outside the busy centre. It's 12 minutes walking to the main shopping and restaurants street. 15 minutes to go back (considering it's uphill and you had few drinks downtown :) All tour operators know the place and have pick-up at the hotel. Breakfast was ok and they serve free hot drinks and cakes the whole day. Many places to sit and hide and do work if needed.
Definitely a positive expereince. WiFi signal was weak in the room.
good location, 10 minutes walk to shopping street....
Loved the tea coffee and cake after 4pm. So nice when we came in from the cold.
Would have been nice to have wifi in the bedroom as well as the dining room.
staff! free breakfast ! free cake in evening! free tea and coffee all day!! location and price!!
wifi limited in room/non existent - but worked in reception/eating area
A very cosy home from home feel with free tea and coffee all day and home made cakes on an afternoon. The staff could not do enough for you, always friendly and polite.
Natural geo hot water was lovely but made the bathroom smell a bit and could do with updating, but nothing we couldn't live with for a few days.
great staff free 24 hr tea and coffee staff made us sandwichs for early departure
Lovely hotel with familary character. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was good and access to cake and hot drinks the whole day just perfect. We can really recommand it and come back for a future trip to Iceland.
All was perfect.
Excellent quadruple room with loft which suited us having 2 kids (3 and 8) though it also meant we had to have twin beds as well on the lower level. Breakfast was a real perk, tasty and healthy, and saved us quite a bit of money. Staff was wonderful and helped us book tours and follow up with tour bus drivers who didn't show when they were supposed to! The two tour bus companies we used, Iceland Excursions and Reykjavik Excursions picked us up for our booked tours from the hotel which was a nice perk as well.
Wifi in our room was very poor, and we weren't able to get a good connection for the 3 nights we stayed. The hotel location was a bit far for walking into Reykjavik center (20-30 mins), especially given the treacherous icy conditions in the surrounding streets around the hotel. We walked in a few times, but it was challenging with the kids and the conditions. There wasn't any public transport available into the city center. There also wasn't too much around the hotel in terms of restaurants or other amenities so you really had to go into the city center. Not the most picturesque location, but the hotel suited us as a base for getting out on tours.
Free tea, coffee and cake are always available. Great view from the mountains.
the staff is friendly and they are happy to answer our question. the room is clean. it is lovely that they are providing 24hours free coffee and tea, as well as some cake. the location is not too bad.
Staff excellent and very helpful and waited up until 3am for us as our flight had been delayed. Family room a good size with 4 single beds. Breakfast was good with a wide choice available.
comfy bed good breakfast kind staffs nice location
wifi siganl in the room is very weak
