Score from 9 reviews Very good
Overlooking the Seydisfjördur Fjord, this guest house offers rooms with free WiFi access and a private bathroom with shower and hairdryer. Seydisfjördur village is a 5-minute drive away.

Housed in an early 1900s building in charming Seydisfjördur, this homestay guest house is set against the backdrop of the Fjardarheidi Mountains. WiFi and parking are free.
Score from 6 reviews Excellent
Centrally located in the village of Seyðisfjörður, The Old Apothecary is set in a historical building along the river. The guest house offers a shared lounge area and rooms with free WiFi and heating....
Score from 32 reviews Excellent
We had a twin room booked. However as some kind of refurbishment done in the main building we were upgraded to a 2 bedroom luxury apartment with all the facilities you can imagine.
One of the most expensive places we stayed at in December 2014 - in the depth of winter, the off-season. Since the services are mostly what other hostels in Iceland offer, you'd think they'd be priced accordingly.
Great location in a great town - just steps from a museum and a wonderful restaurant/gallery.
WIFI was fast. Nice & clean facilities. Lots of parking. Walking distance to excellent food. Very affordable. Friendly staff!
This is more of a guesthouse rather than a hostel. Locks on the main door and room were tricky---I didn't feel 100% secure because I wasn't sure if the locks were actually locked.
A clean room and shower was wonderful after a full day of driving.
room and kitken too small
good view good lacation
Not having longer there. I would definitely go back.
It's handy to the ferry terminal. We were allowed to book in early after arriving by boat. It had a very well stocked kitchen and a lovely walk out the back to a waterfall. Added bonus was seeing the Northern Lights out of our window.
Amazing room and shower. Very nice and I recommend
From 22 untill 00.30 a lot of noise of other guests in the hall, just before our room. So we couldn't sleep...
It is good but not the best Nice view from out of the kitchen on the waterfall
This was the nicest hostel we stayed at during our entire trip in Iceland. It's a brand new building, clean rooms, a few bathrooms on every floor, you get linnen and towels included in the room price, good wifi and a well stocked kitchen that you can eat from and pay later. It was perfect.
My room was next to the bathroom with only a very thin wall inbetween. I could here someone being sick and having diarrhea in great detail all night.
Room with large bed and desk. Nice kitchen and use of laundry facilities.
The place needs to be renovated, mainly the outside part. To be fair they were renovating it while we were there, so I suppose it will be fine in future. A little bit too expensive for the type of accommodation. Avoid at all costs the nearby bistro, unless you are willing to pay £9 for a beer!
Position near the sea
- great shower - we could wash/dry our clothes
good facilities, especially washing
The kitchen is small and a group of 4 dominated the kitchen from 6 o'clock till 10. It would be great if there were a sign that asks guest to use livingroom down stairs after dinner.
The hostel is very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful.
Good location in Seydisfjordur - very near the lovely Skaftfell bistro, easily accessible to ferry. Pretty basic but good value for Iceland.
We had room 2 which was situated between both bathrooms on our floor, hence all night we were disturbed by doors banging and flushing water etc. Try to avoid room 2!
The Post Hotel is easy to find and although basic, is very clean and tidy. The kitchen was well appointed.
The hostel is quite noisy. If you are a light sleeper don't take room nr. 1. We had no problems sleeping there but it is located between toilets and showers.
Fine beds, good showers, clean kitchen. Handy that a washing machine and dryer are available. Good WiFi.
Wifi didn't work No breakfast
Comfy beds Free bikes
Beautiful room with views of the waterfall and bay, bed comfortable. Share bathroom which was clean and very big dual shower. Able to use communal kitchen with excellent cooking facilities. Reception excellent gave excellent food/restaurant option and options for visiting local sites.
the location and accommodations were great. An easy walk to the grocery, waterfront, pubs, and pool.
Nice and clean facilities, fairly good value for the money. The landscape is breathtaking and place really worth of visiting.
Comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, free wi-fi in rooms, clean and cozy
Value for money Very comfortable bed Nice and clean bathroom
We assumed cafés would be open on Sunday morning for breakfast & they weren't. Supermarket was also closed & we'd run out of supplies. Not the hotels fault of course but just a note to other travellers be prepared for places to be closed until late on Sundays.
Very clean warm & comfortable. Host provided us either lots of local information. Great choice of places to eat.
Kitchen well equipped but not for the amount of people staying in the Hotel. Very restricted space in common areas like kitchen and lounge (with TV). In a country and village where self catering is very common due to high prices in restaurants more space would be nice. People cook, people like to exchange ideas or prepare for next day journeys and want to sit together. I felt rushed when eating dinners and breakfast because other people waited to do the same and it was not enjoyable at all.
Location Comfortable Beds Nice shower
