Overall a beautiful city and the people first class.
The food in the hotel Resturant was limited.
The staff here were very helpful with any questions we had. The mecca spa was also a welcome facility after using the spa and sauna several times as well as having a massage which was great value for money. The bar is very good.
Breakfast is a buffet and can get very crowded at times and makes for a slightly stressful experience! I would recommend eating earlier as it was quieter. The food offered at the buffet was of a good standard and plentiful. The decor of the hotel is a little dated in the corridors and bedrooms and could do with an update!
Breakfast was good, lots of free parking, room was comfortable as was the bed.
Location could have been better, it's quite far from the centre. It was a bit expensive for what you get but all proper hotels in Iceland are expensive.
The business room is better value for money than the regular rooms (newer). Although it seemed to be pricey it is good value compared to what you get for your money in Iceland in general. Walking distance to city center (about 10 min.) Good breakfast buffet. Travel agent in the lobby which is very convenient if you want to book tours, rent a car etc. Very helpful staff.
View on the parking lot.
Shower, well bathroom in general. Instead of one duvet we had two small one. Decoration needs a lot of updating
We always in chain hotels such as the Radisson while on holiday and were a bit nervous about our upcoming stay due to some of the previous poor reviews but we had such a good experience here. We were in a business suite and the room was beautiful, great views and very comfortable. The bathroom was lovely and housekeeping replenished the consumables daily, the room was spotless. When we requested anything from room service it was brought very quickly and no hassle. Hotel was 10min walk from downtown but we choose to dine twice with the hotel in 1 week due to ease but also because of the nice dining facilities. The morning buffet was fabulous and we were well fed for most of the day, a great selection of fruit, cold meats and cooked food. The tourist office here booked all our activities and tours and we didn't have to go near the busy tourist office in town. Will stay here again when we are next back!
Nothing to report here.
Size of room was adequate. Coffee and Tea making facilities. Free Wifi but poor connection
Shower curtain no longer appropriate these days, especially if it is so long, as in our case, that we kept falling over it in the bathtub. Very olf and battered furniture and fittings - not really reasonable for a Radisson Blu Hotel and the regular room charges asked for. We have ordered a double room with one big bed and received a room with two single beds and a third emergency bed (which was removed out of the room though, after we have asked for it). Free Wifi but poor connection
Lack of swimming pool
We've stayed in Radisson hotels before and this one was almost as good as you'd expect. Staff were superb and very professional but also very friendly. Any request from us was attended to. The food was superb, right from lunch through to the Gala dinner. The room (452) on the 7th floor had a great view, and we had a great nights sleep. Although at 2.20 am you'd probaby sleep through anything. In summary, great staff, great functions for New Years Eve, the guide on the coach to the bonfire was absolutely fantastic, and a lovely room.
We've only got a couple of complaints, and they're certainly not major. Just a few errors in the detail. I wanted some water from the mini bar, but the only bottle of still water was half full. And not from us. The bathroom, which I feel on a hotel stay should be immaculate wasn't quite so. There were hairs left in the shower which while can be washed away, you can do at home. Apart from those minor niggles the hotel is a great place to stay.
Plenty of facilities, easy check in/out, travel desk for excursions excellent
A bit austere, no Icelandic charm, but it is a chain hotel after all.
Just arrived home from a 2 night stay here we couldn't complain about a single thing as the staff, facilities, and everything else wAs absolutely out of this world. We will be back
Breakfast choice was very good in terms of food choice and attentive staff. Room was a decent size.
Room service could have been better. Meal choices at other times quite limited - main restaurant only serves buffet style food.
Helpful and friendly stuff, nice location, delicious breakfast, clean rooms
A window in the room made sound during windy nights, probably it was broken
Handy for city centre. Large car park. Easy to find. Staff efficient.
Room was a bit scruffy. Furnishings a bit battered about.
The hotel was very nice, quiet, with clean rooms and comfortable beds. We attended a conference and the food was very good. It is a walk into the main part of the city, but we enjoyed walking through the streets and it was scenic. The hotel is on the edge of the University campus and you can see the ocean from some rooms. A short walk to the ocean in a residential area. I was expecting a typical hotel, but our room had a large window with lots of light, quiet radiator heat, and to me a Scandinavian feel.
The walk to town might be a problem in the rain or snow. The meeting room was a little small. We were able to use booking.com and get a slightly lower price, but I thought the conference rate of $300 US was way too high for this quality of hotel in September.
Clean and good staff
Uncomfortable bed. Noisy. Poor bathroom. Expensive for what you get
Room was not very clean upon arrival...
Location was good, just 10 min walk from downtown. Wi-fi was fast enough. Breakfast was excellent, one of the best I eat ever. Room was clean and quiet
Staff spent not so much time when I asked to explain me where is downtown and how can I go there. All the things looks as 80s-style, I think all the room needs renovation
Toilet didn't break. Timely resolution of issue noted under didn't like. Staff changed us from a single bed to a room with two beds easily. Staff was nice.
My friend used the toilet extensively in one sitting and it somehow broke the sink and the shower to the point at which they would no longer drain. No AC in room.
Business room with no iron is just not good enough
Staff was great. location is great. bar service was prompt and polite. breakfast buffet was good value in Iceland
do not expect these people to ensure you have a place to eat. The cafes are not always open. When they are open they are sometimes booked full for groups not staying at the hotel. You may need to find supper from somewhere else or eat room service. We tried to extend our stay but they were full. No pool or gym but there are lots of pools in the city.
all hot food served cold at breakfast - poor spa (sauna cold, steam room switched off and smelly)
Nothing in particular
Rather out of the way and a little hard to find. Confused with other radisson near the harbour at first try
Staff were excellent, with the bar area and food really good
Bedroom was small and 'tired'. Breakfast was mainly Luke warm and not value for money
