We are regular travellers around the world, our 2 day stay was well up with other "best" hotels we have been to

We missed the Northern LIghts!! But a great excuse to return. There was nothing we felt we did not like at the hotel or staff . Well Done!

The staff was incredible, everyone was so helpful, going out of their way to make everyone feel comfortable and welcome. The biggest surprise was the food, the hotel chef was excellent and the dining staff was five star. The setting spoke for itself, anyone travelling to Iceland will not be disappointed.

Great location in the countryside where there are few hotels of this standard. The food was excellent, and the staff lovely. Really good customer service, and fab hot tubs overlooking the river. Overall, a great place to stay. I'd definitely return, and would have stayed longer if they had availability .

The rooms aren't very large, but were more than fine for a short stay. Clean and quiet.

Great setting for northern lights (if the clouds ever go!) hot tubs were great, food lovely, staff welcoming and helpful, great rooms with jacuzzi bath and well located for golden circle and adventures of the south (waterfalls, glaciers etc)

Food although nice a bit too expensive. Not much to do in the evening especially if cloudy and your aren't able to watch out for aurora or stargaze. Bit too expensive to sit in bar all night.

The location, the friendly, helpful staff, the excellent breakfast, the gourmet food and the general feeling of peace and tranquility.

This is not a cheap place to stay!

Staff was really helpful, there were no extra or unexpected charges, and the rooms were comfortable and clean; the star and northern lights viewing were terrific

our rooms were near the lobby and there was quite a bit of noise from other guests late into the night

Expensive but delicious food, very very quiet and peaceful, and got a wake up call to see the northern lights.

Comfortable room, great hot tubs, excellent restaurant

Nice view of the river, beds were comfy, huge bath. Check-out and restaurant staff were very nice.

We booked a junior suite for the first night of our honeymoon, the room was very small for a junior suite, with only a sofa and a coffee table in front of the bed. Room was decorated with real bear skins, boar heads, clubs and other animal parts. Do not stay if you're an animal lover! Our little boy was scared and couldn't sleep but we were told we couldn't change rooms, even when we requested a basic room instead. Considering this hotel is advertised as being very remote and romantic it was neither. We stayed out as late as we could (with a baby) and left as early as possible. We did not enjoy our stay.

The lack variation in the food. They should have a small gift shop. Frommers indicated a roof top pool and spa area and that dis not exist.

We loved everything. The location is great. With a bit of hunting which we enjoyed, we found many beautiful places. Rooms and food were lovely. Enjoyed hot tubs. Staff so friendly and helpful. Always nice when owner takes the time and interest to meet and assist guests. thank you!

Room gets warm, especially when showering. Need screens on window and door to ventilate because flies are very socialable in Iceland!

Jacuzzi in the bathroom (upgrade to superior room was needed to sleep 3), restaurant was very good

Great location, views of the river and the volcano. Restaurant was very nice, with fab views of the river. Food was excellent and the room service menu was also good for when we just fancied a less flashy cheeseburger! We were very lucky to see the northern lights while there.. Hotel offers a wake up call which we were very grateful for. Room was cosy, and could walk straight out to the river and hot tub! Staff were very friendly and welcoming. A great place to base yourself for the golden circle, day trips down towards vik and hekla. Would recommend it!

The bed! You felt like you were floating on a cloud with the soft mattress and the warm feather down duvets. Then of course there was the luxury of the jacuzzi right outside our room. It would have been magical to watch the Aurora from them.

The price of the restaurant meals. It would be wonderful if there was an alternative like a cheaper cafe offering a buffet or something. Also, no gym or fitness centre. Some things looked "tired" and in need of restoration. For example the vanity unit around the wash basin was old and swollen with water ingress.

A stunning location with great staff and an awesome chef!

Excelente lugar, atención, y muy buena comida.

Habíamos perdido la esperanza de ver la Aurora Boreal en Islandia, pero la vimos en este hotel, el personal es muy amable y verdaderamente te avisan si aparece. Está cercano a lugares hermosos de Islandia como las cascadas y los glaciares, además de que hay muchas actividades alrededor. Lo recomendaría más que hospedarse en Reyjkavyk.

Der Service an der Bar ist bemüht, aber die Kenntnis der angebotenen Getränke in der Getränkeliste lässt bei einigen Angestellten zu wünschen übrig. Die Preise sind für schlecht gemixte Getränke schlichtweg zu hoch!

Einfach tolles Hotel schön und Ruhig gelegen, ein Hotel in dem man länger bleiben möchte
