Hotel Ranga  

Great location, views of the river and the volcano. Restaurant was very nice, with fab views of the river. Food was excellent and the room service menu was also good for when we just fancied a less flashy cheeseburger! We were very lucky to see the northern lights while there.. Hotel offers a wake up call which we were very grateful for. Room was cosy, and could walk straight out to the river and hot tub! Staff were very friendly and welcoming. A great place to base yourself for the golden circle, day trips down towards vik and hekla. Would recommend it!

A stunning location with great staff and an awesome chef!

Beautiful hotel, staff were very friendly, food in the restaurant was excellent and we felt very relaxed. The beds were so comfortable - we had an amazing nights sleep both nights and the area was really lovely a quiet. Made use of the hot tubs too which were wonderful. Breakfast was very nice with plenty of selection. Would highly recommend staying at this hotel and choosing this out of town location rather than city centre as it makes for the true Icelandic experience.

Menu was a little bit limited, we ate there twice and would have struggled if we were to have eaten a third night. Food and drink were expensive - but no more so than prices elsewhere in iceland

I cannot begin to say enough great things about the hotel. The staff is beyond excellent, from the moment you check in to your last second in the parking lot as you leave the grounds, they are attentive, professional, friendly and focused on making your stay the best ever. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in Iceland. Hats off to the owners and staff at the Hotel Ranga. They deserve it.

The setting is just beautiful. We were upgrade to a junior suite which was superb. When we go back to Iceland, we will be booking into the same Asian influenced suite. The food was second to none, the service and staff were fantastic. This is with out doubt, one of the finest hotels I have ever stayed in.

Good location with friendly staff and great range of food options for breakfast. The rooms were comfortable with spacious bathroom that included spa bath. The manager was very attentive and great each guest personnally at dinner.

Comparied to the other hotels we stayed with on this trip this was almost 4 times the nightly rate but it was hard to really see the added value of the Hotel Ranga to merit such a price increase. The rooms was rather dark mainly because one of the two ceiling lights did not work. We mentioned this problem to the manager when he greated us at dinner but dispite his assurances the light was still not working when we departed at the end of our 2 night stay. The sofa in the room was comfortable but unfortunately at the end of the room not lit by the faulty ceiling light so it was too dark to read there and the tv was mounted on the wall against which the sofa was placed so you could not sit there and watch the tv either.

The Hotel Ranga is ideally placed to explore South Iceland and, weather permitting, view the Northern Lights. Facilities are very good and the staff excellent. The food is of a high quality although if you are there for longer than a few days the choice would become very limited. The location right next to the Ranga River and with views of Eyjafjallajökull in the distance is great. I emailed the Hotel in advance to request a River view room. Not only did we get the River room but an upgrade too.

Very expensive but then most things are in Iceland

Staff more than willing to make your stay memorable by offering any assistance possible. We were upgraded potentially due to a request for a double room due to a planned engagement proposal which made the stay that bit more comfortable. Also the wake up call for the Northern Lights watching was very welcomed meaning we did not have to stand in the cold for hours on end to watch this amazing phoenomenon if and when it occured. It gives the customers of this hotel the best parts without the hassles.

A resort such as this could benefit its customers by becoming an 'all inclusive' hotel.

The Evening dining experience was excellent.

I did not find the front desk staff friendly or welcoming.

L'hôtel Ranga est censé être l'un des plus bel hôtel de l'île. Non seulement les chambres sont petites et décevantes mais le ménage n'est pas nickel et le personnel pas toujours aimable. Le rapide qualité peux est donc mauvais. En revanche, le restaurant est excellent et le personnel y est super. A mon sens,sauf en ce qui concerne le restaurant, il ne mérite pas ces 4 étoiles.

Ganz tolle Lage mit wunderschöner Aussicht. Es ist unbedingt wert, sich ein Superiror-Zimmer mit Zugang zum "hot pot" zu gönnen, wo man dann, wenn man wettertechnisch so wie wir Glück hat, unter sternklarem Himmel bei einem Gläschen Champagner ein warmes Bad geniessen kann! Absolut himmlisch!!!

Jantar: bastante caro, estivemos uma hora à espera dos pratos e a qualidade da comida (apesar de boa) não justifica os preços.
