Hotel Reynihlid

The hotel had attentive staff who went out of their way to get us some food after hours when the cafe next door closed earlier than advertised.

Our room was OK but much more basic than the inflated price had led me to anticipate. Either the walls are very thin or the guy next door was an exceptionally loud snorer: he woke us up two nights running. In short, I would say the room was vastly overpriced. Indeed, the difference in price between this and other comparable hotels stayed in during our fortnight in Iceland made this far and away the worst value for money. We were disappointed.

The hotel has a good location in Reykjahlid, a short walk from the bus stop (daily bus connection to Akureyry and connections to other places interesting for sightseeing). My room was quiet. Rooms are clean but rather small. Bathroom is clean but somewhat basic. Buffet breakfast was okay. Dinner is served as menus only (2 or 3 courses, the daily special menu not quite as expensive as the a la carte menu options). Food at dinner was okay. Bicycles were included in the room rate for hotel guests (otherwise rented for outsiders). This was very nice because a bicycle is a good option for seeing the area as distances to the natural sights are not long (including ca 4-5 km to Nature Baths, often called the Blue Lagoon of the North Iceland). The hotel is a good place for touring the area. A car it not necessary but the hotel also organises car rentals.

Bathroom was quite basic. The hotel is not quite 4 star despite the official rating.

Les plus: Hotel bien situé autour du lac Myvatn, à proximité des commodités (restaurant, essence et supermarché) et des principaux sites. Chambre bien équipée (tv satellite, chaudière, café, thé).

Les moins: Service peut avenant pour un hotel se voulant 4*. Chambre double standard petite et petit déjeuner basic offrant moins de choix que des hôtels deux fois moins cher (Icelandair Hotel ou Edda). De plus, le site de l'hôtel ne mentionne le prix des chambres qu'en Euro mais facture le séjour en isk avec une conversion très défavorable par rapport au montant en Euro figurant sur la réservation.

Sauber, nettes Personal, tolle Umgebung (Landschaft), Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist o.k. Mehrere andere Lokale in unmittelbarer Umgebung Thermalquelle in unmittelbarer Nähe. Reitmöglichkeit in unmittelbarer Nähe.

Hotelbar hat am Abend kein wirklich großes Angebot an Drinks, vor allem Shakes haben mir gefehlt. Das Frühstücksbuffet könnte reichhaltiger sein.

Zentrale Lage am Myvatn-See. Von dort kann man alles in kürzester Zeit erreichen. Das Essen im Restaurant war excellent.

Der Zimmerpreis war definitiv zu hoch. Aber in der Lage und bei relativ wenig Hotels in der Gegend muß man das "schlucken".

La localización del hotel enfrente del lago Myvant es perfecta y la comunicación con los puntos más interesantes del lugar. El servicio de restaurante excelente.

L'hôtel Reynihlid est idéalement situé à proximité du lac Myvatn.

Même si le lieu est magique, le confort, la vue et les prestations offertes ne sont pas à la hauteur du prix.
