We loved our stay here! It's situated on one of the main roads but we still found it very quiet. The staff are very helpful and we really were surprised at how lovely and clean the rooms were. On our first stay we had the budget studio which was fantastic, on our 2nd stay we had the 1 bed apartment that was even better! Hot tub is also great.
Well located, easy to walk anywhere. Clean and well set up.
Soome noise at night from local clubs
Great location, nice apartment with a good view of the city. Friendly staff, and towels are provided which saves luggage room.
The water smells of eggs but I think this is because of the sulfur in the water.
Right on the main street. A small functional aparthotel with good sized rooms. Light and airy. Run efficiently. Not super stylish or luxury but very good value for money in a perfect mid town position.
Few faults in the room. Showing some wear and tear.
Spectacular stay at the perfect apartment setup. Super helpful staff which gave us great advice to explore everything Iceland has to offer.
Tap water smelt funny
Location, costing, flexibility of hotel
Hot tub too hot!
room 412 was perfect for my group of 9 people. very spacious. very modern decor. enjoyed the stay a lot.
the kitchen had everything, salt, pepper, pans, utensils. but it was missing cooking oil. not a big deal. but was interesting.
I liked the location of this hotel as well as the view and the cleanliness.
My unit was near the hot tub which is unfortunate, since the hotel seems to be popular with parties of five or more kids in their 20s laying over in Iceland to party. I had to listen to bottles breaking and people screaming until past 11:00pm at which point the parties moved from the hot tub to the rooms near me where they carried on through the night. Very noisy hotel. Also, the room was not designed to be very practical. The bathroom sink and mirror were extremely hard to make use of given their size and orientation.
Room with a View was a perfect location for our 1st visit to Iceland we will definitely be back
We were a group of 7 staying in the 4 bed appt. It had everything we needed. 2 of the bedrooms had en suites. Kitchen was small but well stocked. View was great. Hot tub a lovely addition. Only issue with bedrooms at the front was the noise levels in the early hours. There is a bar practically underneath appts. We knew from reviews re noise so this was not a surprise. Definitely recommend
Noise levels but there is nothing the appt owner could do about this.
We were right in the heart of things had hotel pick ups for the bus service and the kitchen set up was excellent. We had the budget option for a room and it lacked nothing. Staff were very helpful.
The only thing that could be better was the bathroom being separate from the room. It was our private bathroom but across the hall. This was the budget option and a small compromise that didn't really cause much of an issue.
Great location right on the main high street, bars, restaurants, shops. Great apartment, big lounge and kitchen area. Comfortable beds, up to date and clean bathrooms.
Bit noisy in the bedrooms on the front of the building, ( just wear earplugs they do the trick ) Building work going on behind, drilling started early on weekdays :(
Noise in the middle of the night
The location is brilliant, right on the main street you're never further than a 10 minute walk from the best spots. The staff were really accommodating and willing to do anything they could to help. Unfortunately on arrival our room stank of cigarette smoke so we requested another room, which was happily done and we were in the new room in less than 5 minutes.
This is not the hotels fault at all, but there are some horrendous building works taking place right next door. They start early in the morning and finish late at night and the noise seems to reverberate through the walls. However, this is only the case if you're in the separate building across the street. If you get a room in the main hotel then there is no noise problem at all (bar the drunken revellers on a Friday and Saturday night, but we slept through these!) As mentioned, the staff are really accommodating and allowed us to move rooms again as soon as one in the main hotel was available to avoid the noise. I feel sorry for the owners as it's not their fault and having spoken to one they have requested many times that building starts later, to no avail. The room in the main hotel was great, it was spacious, light and clean. However, we were in a room that had a separate bathroom (so not en-suite). This was fine but just wasn't expected. It was our own bathroom so we could leave our stuff in there, it's just more annoying for when you need to get up in the night for the loo as you have to take keys to get back in and out - not ideal if you're desperate! But it was cleaned daily so no qualms with the bathroom itself. However, as a warning, Icelandic water tends to smell of sulfur(rotten eggs) - it doesn't make you smell, but isn't the most pleasant!
Right in the downtown area across street from bars and restaurants.
Not a lot, it is what it is. No thrills in particular but then it is perfectly ok.
The apartment was superbly equipped
The workmen starting on the adjacent building site at what I thought was 4am when in fact due to reduced daylight hours was in fact after 8am -so reasonable time really
- Perfect location; - Room is big, well equipped, clean and really comfortable; - Hot outdoor jacuzzi; - Parking space (not a lot); there was space for us to park all times though; - Rooms facing front have a very nice view of sea and mountains.
Stayed there twice and would stay there again. One of the times the view was amazing but room finishings were not brand new (absolutely fine though). The other time, room finishings were newer but view was nothing special.
very good location and friendly staff
Our studio and bathroom are two separate rooms. It's very inconvenient. Smelly water in the kitchen.
Cleanliness and Jacuzzi bath Around Iceland shop next door served great breakfast Coffee filter machine
Could have provided complimentary milk sachets for tea/coffee No curtains in lounge area for privacy - room looked out onto main street!
The older male staff member upon out arrival and departure was not very hospitable and didn't show emotion to my complaints regarding the lights in the bathroom not working and just dangling from the ceiling and some other little issues. The smell of the sulphur in the water was a surprise at first.
The apartment facilities were very good, warm, decent bedding and secure. Location was also close to shops, supermarket, cafes and restaurants. The location also made it easy to walk around town, to the harbour and be picked up for tours. The staff were very courteous and helpful booking transfers and finding out about a tour we had booked.
For a 'luxury' apartment, I would have expected the basins and toilets to be cleaned every day. I also would have expected the beds to be made. The location is in a street with nightclubs, so friday and perhaps saturday nights is very noisy with revellers yelling to the early hours of the morning. The master bedroom also had a fire exit door sign, which made the room quite illuminated even with all the lights off.
Perfect location, on the main shopping street of Reykjavik Good price... at the expense of quality though
The apartment was not in a good condition overall and did not quite match the pictures (furniture/walls/doors were in a poor condition and poorly repaired, cutlery was scarce and mismatched) Room was not very clean (1cm dust on the radiator) Bathroom was ugly and not very functional Corridors look like they've not been refurbished since the 70's Do not quite undersand the principle of the window being the emergency exit - on the 3rd floor! Makes me question the whole safety... My baby and I were waken up by an anonymous call at 6.30 in the morning.
We stayed twice at RWAV this year, at the beginning and end of our Iceland visit. We were pleased to be given an accommodation upgrade. We`ve stayed there in previous years and found it convenient. Our stays were not on weekends so we didn`t have noise to bother with. The nearby supermarket cuts down costs by self catering.
Very comfortable luxury room with hot tub.
No iPod connector for stereo & tv is a nightmare to use!
